I just bought a single leaf/ node of a Variegated monstera for $40 from my local fb group!! It had a 3” aerial root too!
I have learned that patience is truly a virtue in the plant world you wait long enough and the price will come down and you can afford your wish list plants 😁😁😜

It's been interesting to watch the fall of the obliqua in like six months. In December it was the rarest of rare, now they are showing up in local plant shops. The Strawberry Shake dropped rapidly, as well, along with White Knight, White Princess and all of those similar plants. I think all of those will get even cheaper still like the Pink Princess.
I think all the old rare philos will keep dropping, they grow so fast and the market is being overpopulated rn for the amount of demand
I think it’s a fall, if price is the only concern… but overall it’s a win for the plant & for the people who wanted to care for it. I think if it’s easy to care for & easy to reproduce it’s only right that prices should go down.
Same I got a white princess starter plant for $20 last week. I hope the rest go down more
I honestly think prices stayed so high for so long because the market was being artificially inflated by the powers that be. Now that all the home growers have flooded the market with propagations etc the prices are finally dropping and I love it so much. It's not as obvious in my country but we're definitely getting there! Shame I'm such a hoya head because those have been the slowest droppers!

I got M albo, A albo, and E albo rehabs recently. So glad I took the plunge. They’re doing great, and I enjoy these plants.
I wish I could afford all the plants that I’d like 😍‼️ I have my 50 ish plants, and I’m SO happy with the plants I have now. Who says people have to keep “upping” the number of plants they have just bcuz they are in competition for some reason 🙄 been growing outdoors and indoors since I was like 17 🤣😭
Last October I bought I single rooted Monstera Albo leaf from Botanicaz, for $200. Now, it has 6 leaves & is working on the 7th 🥰
You speak truth. I just got a 3 leaf obliqua from a local seller for $95. After seeing those prices soar 2019-2021, it feels kinda cray.

Albos are quite expensive in the US! In the UK (at least) you can get a very nicely variegated 1 leaf node for around £40-50, which is around $65-70 ish
Facebook groups are the best!! I bought a stunning beautiful Monstera Albo for $225!!! She has put out 2 new leaves for me!!!
I don't think these prices are going to go up anytime soon. Right now there are more plants available than there is a demand for. As more people continue to propagate, the prices are likely going to get even lower. The market is saturated right now, and with the propagation rate, I don't see that changing for a very long time.

Ok, this is crazy. The market here in Brazil is totally different. I bought 5 cuttings of the pink Princess for the equivalent to 30 dollars. A cutting of the epipremnun pinnatum variegata, single leaf, 6 dollars. The philodendron verrucosum however is being sold for a few hundred dollars 😱
For the ppp I got it almost at the lowest you could get it and I paid 20 dollars more than I should’ve because I saw others better than the tc I got and it ended up dying 😭😭😭
A 3 leaf var. adansonii was sold for $60, with half moon leaf.
In the uk I think monstera albo has gone up I was surprised. That’s with good variegation over here a few ppl got very low variegation plants from supermarkets and I think people fell for buying the cuttings and now they are realising good variegation is worth the extra money.

While you're not wrong (and I'm not trying to be argumentative at all I swear), I feel like the prices you've listed for example are still on the very low end of things and pretty rare to see them that low still.. but it may be regional to you and I could be wrong!
Even on plant purge pages, I have yet to see a variegated peru for $100... but they're for sure going down and I'm excited!!

In Europe variegated micans are still very expensive. Single node can cost € 1000-2000.
However about obliqua, be careful about purchasing runner nodes. They propagate unreliably.

I got my Albo monstera 5 leaves for 140 euroes with beautiful variegatation (look at my most viewed video if you don't believe me) and it was honestly soo worth it.

People here really suprised that people are not dropping 200 bucks for plants when we are heading towards a major worldwide financial meltdown. Ofc prices are coming down, 99% broke af
Why do all these plant obsessed people talk about plants like they are an investment vehicle nowadays. Like not everybody can grow them at home and propogate the ever living shit out of them. Its like printing extra stocks. and that doenst go well.
