- Can anybody help diagnose if this is the dmf and how bad is it. I've took it to numerous garages and they all say leave it till it starts knocking and banging but it's really irritating me with the noise and driving the vehicle is getting worse. Also when I accelerate there is a chattering sort of knocking noisr could this be the dmf?

The majority of that is the clutch release bearing.
Possibly a clutch bearing, my car made this noise but only when revving with clutch
Dmf sounds same as my 2009 mk6 golf 2.0tdi, when the clutch pedal is down there’s no noise but lots of vibration through the pedal when you realise and engage the clutch
Hi I've have a 2013 VAUXHALL astra 2.0 cdti it's has new cam belt water pump and clutch and dmf and oil air and fuel filters replaced but seems it be making a noise asif a lose pipe or a hole in the exhaust and this vibrates the car makes a domeing vibration noise through the car its been checked with a smoker to see if any pipes were split but no problems there and the exhaust seeems to be fine.....so it's the vibration and the noise as if a lose pipe but can't seem to find a problem with the exhaust or pipes being lose or split can any one help
any update on cause?

clutch, be aware some noises is normal on theses flywheels dont replace uselessly they scam you
the noise desappear when you push de clutch pedal ? beacause i have the same problem with my Vw Jetta 06'

DMF(Dual Mass Flywheel)
Mine sounds like that. The sound goes away when the clutch pedals down, or by applying a touch of accelerator. I dont know cause. Mechanic looking at it in a few days.

@@Fix_R_ taking it to a mechanic in a couple of days. I've bought flywheel, clutch, and input shaft bearing. If I've not replied to this in about a weeks time remind me with a comment and I'll answer
It was the flywheel. I got the fly and clutch done. Drives like a new van. Smooth tick over and no sound difference between clutch in or out in neutral. Big job thou. Sub frame off etc.
Mine sounds like that but when I engage the clutch it gets louder it doesn’t go away. I just replaced the clutch flywheel and bearing about 2k miles or less

Hi all, I own a 130i 2008, 110 000km , having the same issue ; I replaced the dual mass flywheel by a single + clutch ..... no improvement ..... replaced last week end gear box bearings !!! Did not solve anything either !!! Did anyone manage to fix the problem ? It appears onces engine gets to 90 deg, amplifies with temperature, disappear clutch pedal down , occurs also on low RPM 1000-1400 rpm I need HELP !! Please

Hi Joe, I cannot say if it is engine or not; no impact on its behaviour; acceleration is fine the noise does not increase with throttle, recently this noise occurs even with cold engine

nope; the sound increase with temp; I notice recently that getting stuck in traffic with water temperature around 115 deg; it seems to have an influence on engine revs; it keeps the engine revs higher than it suppose to be for a few secs ( around 1500) instead of.the 700 revs on normal time; ANY IDEA ?
Romain Rumeau check your engine fan and maybe the water pump. May be the fan clutch but this definetly sounds like it's related with the cooling system
Thats the duel mass flywheel telling you its nearly dead from when you first heard it you have about 3000 miles before it goes
3000 miles I first heard mine 2 years a go and still going strong and sounds a lot worse then this

Drove mine for a year after buying the car with the problem. Just had the clutch an dual mass replaced 600 pound, only paid a grand for it tho so not that bad

what if u feel a clicking in the clutch when u press it also in the shifter?

@@blackjack4305 i changed out the whole trans and put in a new flywheel because my transmission was fucked.. so yeah i hope you find what your problem is

I got the same issue on an astra k, the noise disappears when I push the clutch pedal in, - I dont think its the flywheel either, - Liam Smith is the input bearing shaft on the gearbox itself? if i am not mistaken
Maybe a crankshaft bearing
