I’ll be honest, up to a few months ago I’d never heard of Joel. But after listening to his playing and watching these lessons, holy shit am I impressed! The guy is phenomenal.
Great next-level instructions from the nicest lead guitarist on social media! He has Trans-Siberian, Whitesnake, Cher where he is the lead, and he is kind enough to take the time and answer questions and such.
Cool stuff Joel. I’ve been playing very similar variations of these licks for many years. People always compliment my blues riffs, simply because I do what you’re doing to keep it interesting and not old worn out pentatonic stuff. I am very honored to have spoken with Joel in person on quite a few occasions. Super nice guy! And a hell of a guitar player. He should be on a G3 tour soon. As good as any who have had the honor.
Aawesoome..thanks..Arpeggios are really amazing making my playing much richer...btw..there is no rocking without blues...appreciate Your lessons for free..Thank You.. Greetinx from tiny Switzerland🇨🇭🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
Its amazing how a whole fourth apart is like , so close and even shares more than just a couple of the same notes, yeah i hear it joel , i do, amazing man
Every time Joel makes a video i come in to say thank you to GW /Joel for a reason, he really is one of the best teachers bar none. If Joel ever does a GW in deep or what ever video i wont even think twice about buying, it, i bet you i am not alone. good job guys. Did Joel go to the school of badass /what a nice dood too? Great teacher man. I am gonna miss the dood when he is gone, that's a measure of a good teacher.
Joel Hoekstra's lessons are the most useful for me, i know scales but i cannot put them in right order to hear the chord changes. This lesson and of course the tabs that you can find in guitar worlds site help me a lot, thanks for that!!
Hi Joel..!! I stumbled on this lesson luckily, and I think these 7th arpeggios have got me out of the pentatonic boxes faster than anything..,and not all that difficult to learn.. I like JB a lot, I hear some elements in this solo, notes that are familiar and those that really grab you, I'm rededicated to arpeggios..so important to learn! Thx !!
Just saw Joel live for the first time last night with Whitesnake. He's probably the coolest guitar player 'Snake has had since John Sykes. He nailed all the old Sykes stuff.
Joel is one of the most technical and well-rounded guitarists around today. His knowledge base is phenomenal! His skill level is phenomenal! His ability is phenomenal! His licks/riffs are phenomenal! Most importantly, for us mortals, is his ability to teach and pass on his knowledge is.............yep you guessed it......phenomenal!!
ill be totally honest joel...im not a huge whitesnake fan...even tho i totally respect the musicianship of yall.....HOWEVER...this lesson totally helped me with playing the music i love....the blues.... so yer an awesome teacher bro.....this helped me alot....thanks so much ok.....keep rockin!
im really diggin joel. cant believe i didnt know who he was until a couple weeks ago. frickin amazing player and this was a cool lesson ive been doing these types of licks lately and this will freshen up my approach .
Hello Joel! Thanks for the lesson. But more interesting, what a wonderfull sounding '57 goldtop! Especially the lows! Oh, she sings...What equipment do you use on the vid? Can you give us a rig rundown?
If you were a painter, would you be copying other artists paintings? Or would you create your own? I fail to understand how creativity has diminished in music by copying instead of creating.

Brilliant! Here's the tabs www.guitarworld.com/lessons/how-to-use-dominant-seven-arpeggios-in-blues-based-soloing
Suder dope! makes the blues so much more interesting
always excellent!!!!!
I was so mesmerized that I almost forget to get out of the subway in my station lol
AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Another super lesson!
Joel's Killer Intro in WS "Shut up & Kiss Me"
this lesson reminds Me a lot of That Roy Orbison Song Pretty Woman
You are a Great Teacher ! :))
What a great guy
Bruce Bouillet goes into the dominant pentatonic scale in his instructional video from back in the day. This is great too!!
seen whitesnake before covid hit and think this guy is the best guitarist I have ever seen
@1:45 What song is this lil' riff from? Doing my head in, I can feel it, I know it, but what is it?
Joel this lesson is great and i think if you had a backing track with the chord changes you play through underneath it would be even better. Thanks
I really need a tab for this one just gold
thank you joel
You can tell how tall someone is by the relative size of their guitar to their bodies. This Les Paul looks like an LP Junior on Mr. Hoeskstra!
Subtítulos en español por favor
What amp are you using? Great sound Joel!!! Amazing talent.
Hello Joel! Thanks for the lesson. But more interesting, what a wonderfull sounding '57 goldtop! Especially the lows! Oh, she sings...What equipment do you use on the vid? Can you give us a rig rundown?
Same, to me it sounds like he just rolled the tone knob down some
Joel is the best!
Wowbig help sir
How about a great go to arpeggio on some heavy rock chugs or etc like a more minor sounding arpeggio etc
You make it easy bro
You have a black tone knob where a volume should be.
Where are the tabs gone?? :(
I have seem him live with Trans Siberian.....Quite a guitar talent.....I have gotten much better following his lessons.
That black tone knob :)
Would have been a big assist if you had demo'd those riffs with a jam track so that we could make sense of it all.
Grande guitarrista, lastima que no entiendo el 100 x 100, pero seguì asì, por ahi un dia nos encontramos para una sapada .
This guy is not bad
So when is Joels GW video?? Im done with begging :)
I love you more than red rosess

Zakk Wylde likes the pentatonic more than you
I really don't have no idea what you are talking about 😐
Too much vibrato.
Excellent Lesson !
