Wait...that doesn't even make sense. Marvel is owned by Disney, not DC, shouldn't it make more sense for someone from Marvel to be a Keyblade wielder? Maybe Deadpool just as a throwaway joke like "Yeah, you'd be amazed at how easy it is to get one of these." XD
@@NINJAfries07 This is true. No matter how amazing the weapon - it can command thralls of the undead, slay even the highest of gods, act as a technomancy focus, be a really big friggin' gun that can bust holes through planets...or it can file your taxes (hey, never underestimate how much good a weapon could potentially have against the IRS! XD) - if you don't know how to use it, it ain't gonna be of much use to you. ;3
I'm not sure if I'm out of the loop with this one but it's been a while since he's mentioned anything Touhou related so I'm not sure about that last sentence
@@Savagewolverand? Josh was working with different criteria. Scorpion was going people who used it and how they use it. Josh used going for the weapon itself
35:31 about that,Nomura has stated in a interview that, from the start of the series the keyblade was never ''a weapon only the chosen one can use'',once again a translation error that give us the wrong information.
I can’t help but find it kind of hilarious that Shulk’s SWORD is the long-lost sibling of two of the main protagonists (and the final boss) of Xenoblade Chronicles 2
I also have a theory as to why we have three Monados in XC1. SPOILERS When Alvis (also known as Ontos) was sent to the universe of XC1 along with the half of Klaus that became Zanza, his Monado was split into three pieces. One piece went to Zanza to become his Monado Another went to Galea and became her Monado while allowing her to become Meyneth And the third stayed with Alvis and would later be transferred to Shulk to become the third Monado during the final fight. Furthermore, we get a good look at the true form of Alvis's sword when you fight him at the end of Future Redeemed.
@@AzureMoebius22 Maybe the reason for this split could be due to its status as the arbiter of the trinity processor, and tried to replicate it with Zanza (Logos) and Meyneth (Pneuma).
@@vitilio That's honestly believable. If this processor along with the Conduit allowed the recreation of an entire universe, then one of its three core parts trying to form its own trinity processor to keep balance isn't that far of a stretch.
Here's an idea for two Top 10 Countdowns; Top 10 Video Game Characters you used to Hate, and Top 10 Video Game Characters you used to Like. Essentially, as we grow older, our perspective of what we like and what we hate gradually change. Maybe when we were kids, there were these characters that we loathed due to petty reasons and just thought that they were the worst things ever created, only to eventually realize that they weren't as bad as initially thought. Or alternatively, we used to like a character because they were the coolest people ever and we wanted to be like them, only for us to eventually realize and question ourselves as to why we even liked them to begin with. For example, I hated Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising, as I thought he was the most ridiculous antagonist in the Metal Gear franchise. Especially since he was the final boss in a franchise where roughly 9 out of 10 final bosses were a fight with an ordinary person who has advanced hand-to-hand combat. But as I grew older, I eventually realized that he was a perfect antagonist, as he was evil, but had interesting goals and morals. And on top of that, Armstrong was funny, threatening and stole the show during the short time he was on screen. And as a result, Armstrong became one of my top 10 favorite Metal Gear characters. By contrast, I used to like the rivals from Pokémon X and Y, but that was because I was really stupid. I didn't realize on how bad they were as rivals, especially since they barely showed up, none of them had a full team, nor even full movesets. And even worse, with the exception of Serena or Caleb (depending on if you pick the male or female protagonist respectfully,) none of them had access to Mega Evolution, the main gimmick of Gen VI. Needless to say, having 4 rivals and trying to juggle them in the plot was a mistake.
I know that feeling. I at first hated Adam in Metroid, purely because in Fusion, he was an annoying computer who ordered Samus around, but after seeing his backstory in Other M, I sympathize with him. By contrast, I used to like Locke in Halo 5, but that was before I realized he was a poorly written character.
For me, the former is Sigma. It's obnoxious how many times he keeps coming back, but between his interesting backstory, great fights and the fact that most other villains in Megaman X are worse than him, I can't really bring myself to dislike him anymore. The latter is Junko Enoshima for the complete opposite reason to Sigma. She seems interesting and fun at first, but the more she gets overplayed, the less "fascinating" and more obnoxious she gets.
@CountShaman I also used to hate Saren in Mass Effect, because he is racist towards humans, but now I like him because he believed bowing to the Reapers would save the galaxy rather than fighting them, no matter the fact Shepard knew the truth. By contrast, I used to like Cyrus in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl because he looked like an interesting villain, and his theme is awesome. Now, I hate him because his own motives for his plans in the games were literally 'because I can.'
Honorable Mentions: [Ranged] *RYNO - Ratchet and Clank Series -Guaranteed to r-r-r-r-rip ya a new one! *Experimental MIRV - Fallout Series - You thought the Fat Man was overpowered? Hold my beer, this one fires 8 MINI NUKES AT ONCE! *Morph Gun - Jak and Daxter Series -Debuting in Jak 2, this gun can switch between different types of eco to change from a shotgun, grenade launcher, minigun, etc. *Smart Pistol - Titanfall -It has an auto-lock system, once all targets are locked, just shoot. [Melee] *Buster Sword - Final Fantasy Series -There's a reason why this giant blade is so iconic. *Souledge - Soulcalibur Series -A grotesque fusion of organic material and metal (complete with an eyeball). *Chaoseater - Darksiders Series -Wielded by War in the first game, this is like a more metal version of the Buster Sword. *The Seperator - Brutal Legend -2 kinds of Axes you wield in this game, the other being Eddie's guitar, Clementine. *Insect Glaive - Monster Hunter Series -Ever since 4 Ultimate, I've gone from Longsword to Insect Glaive. This staff comes with kinsects to extract nectar when they hits an enemy and comes back to you. Red nectar gives you an infinite combo, white nectar increases vaulting height, and orange nectar increases you posture. Speaking of vaulting, that tactic makes it easier to mount monsters and topple them over. That is until Rise dropped the mounting mechanic. [Magic] *Moonlight Greatsword - Souls Series -This is one weapon Fromsoftware loves to tuck away in many of it's games. Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, even Armored core has one. *Sword of Night and Flame - Elden Ring -Alongside Rivers of Blood, it's among my favorite weapons in the game. It also has 2 unique attacks, a fire swathe and a magic superlaser. *Clementine - Brutal Legend -ROCK N' ROLLLLL!!! [Guitar plays] 🎸 🎵
The Experimental MIRV is one of my favorites. Impractical? Yes. Most likely to kill you from the fallback? Yes? Awesome? Hell yes. Adding on to it, the Unmakyr in Doom Eternal, sure it uses BFG ammo too quick, but playing with infinite ammo, everything dies. The trusty shotgun in Halo 1, simple, effective, powerful. Same with the magnum, which in Halo 1, is OP. Arca Plasmor, specifically the Tenet version. Screw aiming, shoot and kill them all with the energy shotty. And speaking of Warframe shotguns Hek (and Hek variants). An OP early game shotgun that will serve you well for a long time. The Kuva version allows you to use all ammo in the clip to severely damage or kill enemies. Melee wise: The Energy Sword and the Gravity Hammer. Those two melee weapons in Halo are great to use, and fun as hell. I go with the sword more, but the hammer could be funny when you kill people with it, or potentially yourself.
Let's be honest, there was no way keyblades weren't making this video. With all the things a keyblade could do, it qualified for all three of these lists and then some.
Josh, you forgot a very important honorable mention. The TNTeddy, a thrown together grenade launcher from sunset overdrive, this beautiful mess launches explosive teddy bears, that can explode on contact or go kablam after a few seconds without being touched by an enemy. This weapon is s tier, and it answers the question of “what happens to a Care Bear with an ingrown stare?”. It’s one of the 4 most powerful weapons in the game, and 2 of these are given via story, these being TNTeddy and the Dirty Harry. Seriously this is something Mr torque would make as a kid
My honorable mentions: Buster Sword (Final Fantasy 7) You know you’re a JRPG protagonist when your sword looks like it’s too big to even carry around. Cappy (Super Mario Odyssey) A bit weird, I know, but this is no ordinary hat. He can be thrown like a boomerang, bounced on like a trampoline, and allow you to possess both living creatures and inanimate objects. Talk about a hat trick. Coconut Gun (Donkey Kong 64) It can fire in spurts and if he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt. Cucco (Zelda Breath Of The Wild) After years of being pecked to death by these murderous chickens, Link finally figured out how to use them against his enemies. Fruit Bazooka (Crash Bandicoot) If I had a nickel for every time a jungle creature wielded a gun that uses fruit as ammunition, I’d have two nickels. (Doofenshmirtz oughta invent a Two-Nickels-Inator for all the times this meme was used.) Galaxia (Kirby) With a sword like that, it’s no wonder why Meta Knight is so cool. Maxwell’s Notebook (Scribblenauts) While not a weapon in the traditional sense, this handy dandy notebook can summon literally anything you want out of thin air. Mr Toots (Red Faction Armageddon) A unicorn that shoots exploding rainbows from his butt. Truly a weapon for Bronies everywhere. Paddlesaw (Dead Rising) Lookin' out the window? That's a paddlin'. Staring at my sandals? That's a paddlin'. Being a zombie in an abandoned mall? Oh, you better believe that's a paddlin'. Poltergust (Luigi’s Mansion) Luigi ain’t afraid of no ghosts. Okay, he’s definitely afraid, but that’s not gonna stop him from saving his bro. Robobot Armor (Kirby Planet Robobot) Does a mech suit count as a weapon? Well, this one can use some of Kirby’s Copy Abilities, so I say the answer is yes. Ryno V (Ratchet And Clank) Part minigun, part rocket launcher, this beauty unleashes a glorious river of death in whatever direction she's facing, all set to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. Scorpion’s Rope Dart (Mortal Kombat) You had better listen when Scorpion tells you to *GET OVER HERE!* Shovel Blade (Shovel Knight) Chivalry may be dead, but Shovelry lives on. Splat Weapons (Splatoon) The Splatershot's fire is rapid and wide With the Splat Roller, you can really glide Splat Charger inks a long straight line Splat Bombs explode after a little time When the Inkstrike comes, hope it's on your side It's a massive ink bath, so run and hide! (Can you blame me for using the lyrics of the song to proof my point? It’s catchy as hell.) Vampire Killer (Castlevania) When a vampire comes along, you must whip it.
*#1 Ranged entry* Huh. Would've thought it was a shotgun with the choice of wording before the reveal. *#1 Melee entry* YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! *#1 Magic entry* Welp, one more for the jar.
I think this Triple Top 5 format is a pretty cool idea if you find it hard to narrow down certain entries when talking about certain topics. Next time you use it, it should be on various game genres, like Top 5 Platformers, Top 5 RPGs, and Top 5 beat 'em ups. Or if you wanna tackle specific RPG archetypes, like top 5 fighters, top 5 rogues, and top 5 mages. Just some ideas, so you can practice with this idea.
So, funny story; back in the 80s, D&D created a legendary trio of weapons; a soul-devouring black-bladed sword called Blackrazor (a blatant rip-off of Moorcock's dread runeblade Stormbringer), a trident sacred to the gods of the sea named Wave, and a legendary dwarven hammer of giant-slaying named Whelm. A later module, well before Warcraft 3, introduced a 4th weapon; *Frostrazor*. A two-handed sword forged from a single giant icicle bathed in the heart's blood of a white dragon, Frostrazor cut like a high-power magical blade, could drain the life from its victims, and could implant shards of ice in its victim that could be used to control them like puppets or kill them outright. Now, there's probably no connection, but it's weird to think about...
The inclusion of Frostmourne inspires me to suggest a cursed weapons top ten list. I nominate Ogre Rancorem and the Demon Sword Verweil from Another Eden as they are the most prominent within the game.
Actually Keyblades choose people by the strength of their heart. An alternative is going through the inheritance ceremony by touching the Keyblade of a master you will eventually have one of your own once your time comes. Just like a Zanpakutō your Keyblade is a reflection of your heart
If i may suggest a future top 10 list, maybe you could do something similar to the top 10 fan made villain songs, but instead of songs, it’s just “top 10 fandom villains” which is just villains the were made by fans of certain series. Notable examples are Betty Noire from Glitchtale as an Undertale fandom villain, or Mecha Sonic from Super Mario Bros Z. The villain could either be an Original character like Betty, or could be a revamped character like Mecha Sonic.
26:57 It’s so good that it’s even the Fire Emblem cast’s (except Corrin) introduction when starting a battle in the Super Smash Bros. series since Brawl. 😊 35:41 I never knew those colors of Eliza is based on Sora?!
You forgot the best thing with Torgue's time with Tiny Tina's wonderland, "I CAST, MAGIC, F**KIN', MISSILE!!!" In order to complete a near 7 year Brick joke started in Dragon keep. Lol
I think you can sum up the thought process behind Torgue as a whole (both in universe and out) as "BECAUSE WHY THE F*CK NOT?" It being in all capitals is also really important.
Was the #1 choice for the magic weapon predictable? Well, yes, but let’s give Josh credit, that number one choice could have fit on ALL THREE LISTS HERE. The fact he restrained himself and only put it on one list is pretty admirable.
0:34 wait...did pinkie pie take control of Josh's editing? If so then this will be fun! Top 5 range weapons: #5 of couse it would be this one! Guess josh CUT to the chase there! #4 as a demoman main i aprove that my favorite class is represented here! #3 of course josh would pick the explosion weapon. Have you seen the ending of his videos?!😂 #2 samas's arm cannon is definitely the goat cannon of range weapon! #1 meh. Ill take samas's arm cannon. Its more powerful honestly. Top 5 melee weapons #5 Assassin creed actually makes sense. Great for a quick kill but not good for long fights. #4 a dagger that can Maniplite time?! Ok. THAT'S COOL! #3 wow. Wasn't expecting Sly's cane to be here. But im not complaining! Seriously, Sly's cane is my favorite melee weapons!! #2 of couse the master sword would be here! #1 THIS IS THE MONANO’S POWER! Top 5 magic weapons #5 so…magic sword whips? That actually sounds pretty cool not gonna lie! #4 meh. I rather use chaos control for better results. Also that dark spikes spell looks more for my style. Also twilight called. She says I told you so. #3 of course the three Secred treasures and the great secred treasure would be here! #2 a cursed ice sword? Dang. That’s rough buddy. #1 I CALLED IT! give me oath keeper and oblivion and I’ll be happy! Also even though super sayians, Jedi, and of course alicorns have been having a bargain sale as of late it’s still a awesome concept!
I'm only gonna say this once. DRG's weapons are best ranged weapons hands down in my opinion. Different overclocks to use to your liking, lots of frameworks and paintjobs to customize to your heart's content. Sure it does not have any story significance, but the effectiveness on using said weapons on the Glyphids are oh so satisfying and how absolutely fun to use and customize at the same time.
Well I definitely know a certain Green Scorpion will love a list like this. 😉 Also I expect to see people still type how certain weapons wont make the list. Its the Internet after all and not expecting that is inevitable.
Ranged segment: I wondered if Warframe would appear, and while I had other weapons on my mind (any boom bow, other incarnon weapons, some Catchmoon pistol variants, Hekk, Ignis Wraith) the Dread is a great pick. The only thing that makes me cackle more than splitting a person in half vertically from a headshot is to decorate rooms with the victims of my Boltor. Also, Samus' Arm Cannon? Hell to the F yeah! Melee: No comments. Peak picks. Aside from the lack of Holy Mackerel from TF2 in honorable mentions just because of the jokey nature of it. Magic: Ohai keyblade. Totally didn't expect you up top. And with didn't expect I mean TOTALLY EXPECT! Also, the Celestial Brush from Okami where? It's basically a magic weapon. It uses a mana-like resource, has plenty of "spells" it can use, and you even need to draw the right magic rune to cast the spell (or just simple line draw if the appropriate element is present) and is about as versatile as the magic unlock sword.
Sadly my favorite sword never makes these lists. That being the Bishamon Sword from Onimusha. In game is so powerful and lore was the sword aswell. It was sealed behind a gate in the demon real with the key(ocarina) to open said gate is locked in the dark realm.
Some weapons I would think are worth adding. Ranged: 1. The ACR from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and its cousin the ACR 6.8 from Modern Warfare 3 (I count them as the same gun despite the wiki listing them separately as they are in real life basically the same just the 6.8 has a different caliber from the stock model). It is a real-life normal gun that never really went anywhere, but it is well-balanced and useful in any situation and it hits the nail on the head when it comes to community significance it was the top-voted assault rifle from fans and really one of the only selling points of the MWIII reboot was adding the ACR back along with its 6.8 cousin in the marksman rifle category and they are even more fun with MWIII's increased assortment of attachments. Whenit'st basically the only saving grace of a game that is worthy of putting it on the list. Also like I said it is balanced unlike the Model 1887 which was overpowered and hated for it. 2. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 from Call of Duty Zombies keeps reappearing in the franchise because of its community favoritism. It also has pretty big story significance being the weapon created by Doctor Edward Richtophen that was never put into mass production which Der Reise reveals is part of the reason he betrayed Maxis. Also, the Ultimus Crew managed to discover time travel by using the DG-2 to overcharge teleporters. 3. The Judge from Payday 2. I haven't played Payday myself, but I have seen enough videos of others playing to see why people always use this weapon in stealth heists and why. Basically, the Judge is based on what is in real life a pretty terrible gun a Brazilian revolver loaded with shotgun shells that are intended for snakes and rabbits. But in Payday 2 it is classified as a revolver so it can mount a suppressor (good luck trying that in real life it won't do anything) and thanks to stealth mechanics, you can use the power of the shotgun to launch the bodies of people you kill with it in areas where guards or civilians can't find them saving body bags. And because it is a revolver instead of a full-sized shotgun, it has the best concealment in its class beating the previous fan-favorite Locomotive 12G which The Judge replaced as the go-to secondary shotgun once it came out. 4. That Gun from Fallout: New Vegas. It is basically an acknowledgment of the fandom's love for this weapon when it appeared in Fallouts 1&2. This Interplay Era is formally called the .556 or .223 Pistol depending on the game, but everyone called it That Gun from Blade Runner because it was literally a replica of Deckard's gun from the movie. It is pretty good weapon despite firing a rifle round from such a short barrel and That Gun is even better than the stock models because it is unique variant. 5. The Remote Claw from Batman: Arkham Origins. This is the only gadget in Arkham Origins (aside form the shock gloves which are widely disliked) that Batman has stands out as not being a copy or inferior version of a similar gadget from the other games. The Remote Claw is superior to the Line Launcher since you can fire it at distance anchors and drag objects towards enemies, enemies into each other, or enemies to vantage points while from the safety of a distance. 6. The Flamethrower from Alien: Isolation. This and the molotovs are your only real options to fight back against the Xenomorph in this game. But it is also the perfect alternative to the flashlight once you get it as the tip is always alight but doesn't attract attention like the flashlight does. Also the Xenomorph learns just how to rush you if you have it or to stay just out of its range so it isn't completely overpowered.
"Acquiring the Master Sword is a Magical & Iconic moment that never gets old." Meanwhile me Streaming BoTW: "Screw the Master Sword, I have infinite Bombs!" (May not have been my exact words...)
Weapons that I would have given at least an honorable mention: ranged- Golden Gun (various James Bond games), Rhyno (various Rachet and Clank games) melee- pretty much any chainsaw weapon magic- whatever that ink brush was from epic mickey
29:15 BOY HOWDY DOES THAT TAKE ME BACK. I watched good ol' Wamboi's video on kirby's dream friends the day it came out a few years ago or at least i think its been that long i cant remember anything well these days
I disagree on the keyblades becoming mundane, they evolve into smth more than just "chose one weapon" they became extentions of the person who is using them and so were their capabilities, now they are effectively endless, assuming the person using one is capable.
Everyone knew that the Keyblade would be on here but i dont blame you it is easily one of the most unique and coolest weapons ever designed. There is so many weapons i love but one i would have loved to see as an honorable mention is the weapon of choice of Travis Touchdown and Henry Cooldown the Beam Katana from the No More Heroes series.
If you want to be technical, the Blade of Chaos only appears in the first God of War and its spin-offs outside of Ghost of Sparta. When he becomes the God of War himself in 2, he and Ghost of Sparta he has the Blades of Athena while in 3, he uses the Blades of Exile. That said he uses the Blades of Chaos again in the PS4 game.
I think Red vs Blue referenced the Keyblade by revealing Tucker’s sword is also a key. Though they also make fun of the concept by Tucker calling this “lame”.
a few honourable mentions from me guns: 'murica from saints row the Bozar from fallout 2 the mega buster (remember it's still the mega buster that fires all the boss weapons once you unlock them) the shotgun from pretty much every survival/horror game the rail gun from MGS4 melee: the boost kick from AC-6 the auto axe from fallout 3 the hammer from donkeykong the market gardener the beam katana magic: sunder and keening from morrowind the golden fleece from god of war 2 and 3
My 2 cents for this...for sword, id say soul reaver from legacy of kain, only maybe master sword matches it in significance, gun propably id say doom super shotgun, but bfg is there to represent...magic id offer incantations from elden ring
Ranged: Guess it was kinda hard to chose a weapon from R&C huh? Melee: An interesting tidbit about the Cooper Cane, it was meant to be a multipurpose tool that can show invisible mazes and even freeze water! Magical: I even designed some Keyblades myself, you should check ‘em out sometime.. if ya want to that is.
honestly, his ranged selection wasn't that good. I mean, *supposedly* the story significance was important, and yet he chose a weapon from a game without real story, and a whole arms manufacturer that only gets spotlight on a dlc
Meta Knight’s sword Galaxia. With this fiery blade, Metaknight can do some seriously insane stuff. Fireballs, lightning, sword beams the works. Then we got energy slashes, telekinesis, the Mach tornado, and most of all, it chooses who can wield it. Then there’s the origin from the anime which really might as well be cannon. It’s like Excalibur but more epic
Just going to say what my favourite weapon is for each category Ranged weapon: Barrett’s Machine Gun hand, I don’t care if I’m wrong. Love this weapon to bits(9 times out of 10 in the remakes I fight as Barret because it awesome). Melee weapon: Dana’s sword things from YS 8 I just find them insanely fun to use and Dana is awesome(so much so when I found her ride along thing in Trails Into reverie I was over the moon because I’d only just finished YS9 and it saddened me I wouldn’t be seeing her in other YS games). Also small honourable mention to that anchor axe thing from the same game Magic: I don’t have a favourite magic weapon so I’m swapping this to favourite Vehicle based weapon(my favourites my rules besides magic weapons are dumb). Favourite vehicle weapon: The Edelweiss tank from Valkyria Chronicles, love this tank to bits. My favourite power ranger Zord is the crimson insecta zord from ninja storm so I will admit I’m a sucker for a tank. I love the Edelweiss just in general(there is so much to love). I love the feel of using it and my favourite character piloted it(till she didn’t….im not crying! I’m not!) but I also just love the look. Honourable mention goes to the laser musket in Fallout 4. I did an entire play through where I only used the laser musket and didn’t fire any other weapon(it was taxing but fun).
Some people think they can outsmart me. Maybe. Maybe. I have yet to meet one who can outsmart bullet. Some of my favorite weapons (films and games alike) Ranged: -the bolter warhammer 40k: the first weapon someone thinks about when 40k is mentioned -the list vox machina: Percy’s iconic pepper box that is a fantastic example of integrating a firearm in medival fantasy settings DC15 from Star Wars: FOR THE REPUBLIC Melee Virtuous set from nier automata: elegant weapons of some of gaming’s most tragic heros Dooku’s lightsaber Star Wars: a signature curved blade for someone with a signature look of superiority The chainsword from 40k: name a more iconic 40k weapon that isn’t the bolter Magic Occultist’s magic darkest dungeon: to fight the abyss. One must know it Kirby’s copy ability: kinda debatable if this one is magic but it’s iconic
Personal Suggestions for Future Top 10 Videos. 1) Top 10 Warrior Villains/Bosses. 2) Top 10 Epic Battles (Army Vs Army) in Video Games. 3) Top 10 Grim Reapers/Angels of Death in Video Games. 4) Top 10 Dark Lords (No Demon Lords or Devils Allow). 5) Top 10 Vampires in Video Games. 6) Top 10 Robot/Mech Bosses in Video Games. 7) Top 10 Underrated Games of All Time. 8) Top 10 Ghost Bosses in Video Games. 9) Top 10 Heroic Knights/Paladins in Video Games. 10) Top 10 Wars (In the Lore) in Video Games.
Keyblades are certainly iconic, and the pick for this list, but let’s not forget the cool weapons the Organization uses. Especially Vexen’s shield. I thought his physical attacks in Re:CoM looked cool, and I’ve been obsessed with that thing ever since. Shame it’s on a mage who’s not inclined to do cool s$&@ with it, no pun intended.
i'll be litsing my favourite weapons from all 3 categories because you convinved me to share them here in the comment section. *favourite magic weapon:* the Magic Sword, from MediEvil. once you unlock it, it will obliterate any enemy in your path that dares comes close. and the design is just *chef's kiss* *favourite ranged weapon:* the Bow, from Minecraft. the only bow i genuinely find satisfying to play. Monster Hunter's Bow and Splatoon 3's new Stringer are close seconds, but it's not nearly as satisfying. i get more satisfaction hitting a mob, and End Crystal, or the Ender Dragon, than i do from splatting a player from over a wall or sniping them in Splatoon 3 with the Inkline Tri-Stringer. *favourite melee weapon:* honestly, i don't think i can choose: Iron Sword and Krell Shield from Chronos Before the Ashes, or Monster Hunter's SnS (without specifying which)? you know what? i'll choose both. the former has simple combat mechanics and weapon designs, but i like simplicity. and i found it fun learning how to approach certain enemies; the latter has one of the best combat mechanics i've experienced with the "Sword N' Board" combo, and i've slain plenty of monsters with it - again, not specifying which one; because we'd be here all day.
Blades of Chaos are more whips with daggers at the end and have more inherent magic used for each attack. The Dagger of Time has the rewind button, but otherwise acts like a normal dagger.
Another example of the Warp spell in Fire Emblem that I think is super cool is Celica’s engage skill Warp Ragnarok. It’s so fun being able to warp into a group of enemies and just blast them all immediately
The Monado just has this unbridled cool factor about it even BEFORE the laser sword busts out. I may simp for gaming's most iconic sword in the Master Sword, and the Covenant Energy Sword is undeniably badass in of itself, but...come on...the Monado can do something the others mentioned can't: it will KEAL (QG, if you're reading this...hi!). >;)
I know you mentioned the Blades of Chaos, but I personally really love the Leviathan Axe. It's a weapon that was a gift from his late wife, and serves as a reminder of his humanity. Personally, I like using it more than the Blades. Having an axe that always returns to you when thrown is really cool, and the game uses it in really clever ways. There's a lot of great puzzles with it, you can stick it into people to freeze them, and the combos that allow you to throw the axe around your body is just so damn cool. The axe is much simpler in concept compared to the Blades, but it's just used so creatively!
Now, for a list of the coolest principles for a weapon to run on, the crystal bombs from _Myst IV: Revelation_ could be on there. I mean, exploding musical crystals! They wouldn't make these lists, though, since the Stranger only uses one (to gain access to an elevator), and that one use comes after one of the more aggravating puzzles (where one mistake typically leads to the puzzle timing out and you having to start over).
Great video. A few questions, 1st, Have you ever considered doing analysis video{s} on Dante and Vergil from Devil May Cry? 2nd, Just asking, why do you hate puns so much? Did you have a really bad experience with Batman and Robin or something? 3rd and final, Do you have anything to say about the Dishonored franchise?
9:41 Was actually talking about this to a friend who is a CoD fan today and, apparently, they just added the akimbo model 1887s to the new Modern Warfare III. And according to my friend, THEY ARE SOMEHOW MORE POWERFUL.
My list: Ranged 5: The karak from warframe, a reliable rifle that, while is nothing compared to later weapons, is fantastic for a tenno starting their journey. 4: throwing blades from medievil ps4. These are huge upgrades from the ps1 version. Sure, they fall off, but dang, they are fun to use 3: morph gun from jak 3. 12 weapons in one. 2: the ryno from Ratchet and Clank. May not always be the most powerful option. But it is garunteed to rip ya a new one! 1: cattlemen revolver red dead, a cowboy's best friend, that gets better the more you put into it. Melee: 5: magic sword from medievil, weilded by legendary heroes.. and sir dan. 4: spear, nioh 2, a good starter weapon, but is fun to master 3: pilebunker from armored core 6, the rubiconian handshake 2: cal's lightsaber from star wars jedi, highly customizable and cal's right hand man 1: death's scythes from darksiders, a really cool take on the reaper's signature weapon. Magic: 5: keyblade kingdom hearts, specifically oathkeeper, my favorite in any game 4: chronosepter, ratchet and clank, did not feel like technology to me, felt more magical. Allows wielder to manipulate time 3: Cross dante's Inferno, great for slaying demons. 2: voodoo doll pirates of the carribean online, your intro into magic. 1: onmyo magic, nioh 2, a fantastic way to deal with foes as it levels up.
Samus Aran's Arm Cannon is DEFINITELY a number 1 gun in my list, and a number 1 weapon overall! Ah, yes, the Hidden Blade. Now THAT is a brilliant idea, and fits with the Assassin Brotherhood Lore. Number 1 melee weapon is surely the Gunblade in Final Fantasy VIII. A sword that also shoots for extra damage! The Hadouken from Street Fighter is great magic... Throwing a massive Fireball at your enemy during a fistfight! The Redeemer in Unreal Tournament was a badass weapon. A Nuke Rocket Launcher... 22:52 Is that Liam Neeson...? Looks a bit like him. Zero Suit Samus should NEVER have happened. I loved the face reveal (for 99%?) in Metroid Prime though. Doom 2016 pales in comparison to the original Doom. The game that basically made the FPS genre of games.
30:24 Oh! That weapon! Can't believe I almost forgot about it. The ultimate final move of the game, and yet since then I've seen a FRICKIN PASTEL PONY casually use this kind of power beam from her HORN to obliterate the Lord of Chaos in much the same fashion!! 😱😎 lol (and then we see him again in ghost form . . . much like how we heard Hades talk after the end of the game) 😮 (Ooooh! DEATH BATTLE CAST: Hades vs Discord!)
A god tiered recommendation of megaman weapons considering in a game where enemies in general are brick walls, explosion from gungaroo on axl is... genuinely disgusting how good it is. Two things make it so impressively overpowered. One, axl unlike X has access to infinite ammo, no need for energy whatsoever unless it's the copy shot. Two, for some reason the entire cone of the "explosion" hits _every frame_ exclusively for axl. This means that a single will land 2 to 3 solid hits, even during the invulnerability. Seriously if you have the sanity to sit through x7, go for _gungaroo first_
It says something about the Keyblades iconic status that being made something that, theoretically, ANYONE could wield, only seemed to make the weapon itself MORE popular, rather than less.
"And when it comes to swords wielded by said hero, none are more iconic than the Monado" Good choice, but buster sword would like a word. (i personally prefer the aegis. is that cheating since the aegis is an actual character? pyra/mythra best sword either way)
Video was great, as always, but I do think the magic section could have been done better since 3 of the the 5 magic catalysts were swords. This wouldn't bug me so much if one of the melee weapons wasn't the dagger of time, which is also magic. In fact, not including PoP3 where the dagger is the primary weapon, the keyblade and the blades of chaos are used more so as melee weapons, whereas the dagger is more useful for its time travel abilities. Frostmorne is more so justified since it is more so known for its corruption magic. I feel magic should be more so done in spells or a magic item that doesn't double up as a melee weapon. That's just how I would have done it tho. Still love the video, same great quality as always.
Personal honorable mention : Mini-Hakkero (Touhou) In case I'm ever in a situation where I need a cooking fire or shoot out a giant rainbow death laser, or probably a situation requiring both at the same time.
Torgue is also one of the few CEOs of Borderlands that supports the player character and the Vault Hunters. Sure, he nearly destroyed the world, but that was out of stupidity due to him not realizing (or remembering) the planet that he wanted to blow up out of awesomeness was the planet they were on.
5:35 "But the Torgue brand boomstick can shoot six rockets at once. And does anywhere between 310 and 1258 points of damage. And it can be fitted with elemental accessories, and-" "Can it do this?" *fires weapon backwards over the shoulder* "Not without (melting your eardrums or) shooting your knees off." "Then I'll pass."
Okay, so you went through all those weapons and didn't mention any of the weapons from Ratchet and Clank. So, WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ARE YOU?!?!?!??! From the wrench/axe that Ratchet carries, to the gun you get before the final boss, this arsenal is magnificent and Josh was just like, one snobbish sniff and walked away. We are talking about being able to clear enemies with stealth and killer tennis balls to just using Klank to carry a bomb to destroy
Lois Lane being a Keyblade wielder is probably one of the LESS strange things to happen in the DC universe. Because Comics
…Eh?!
@@andrewgifford1007- You don’t want to go down that rabbit hole. Trust me.
Wait does that mean that universe had DC get bought out by Disney instead of Marvel?
Wait...that doesn't even make sense. Marvel is owned by Disney, not DC, shouldn't it make more sense for someone from Marvel to be a Keyblade wielder? Maybe Deadpool just as a throwaway joke like "Yeah, you'd be amazed at how easy it is to get one of these." XD
Having flashbacks to the time a d3 digivice appeared in DC comics. Yes really.
As Phil from Disney’s Hercules says: “a hero’s only as good as his weapon.”
As Gray Fox from Metal Gear Solid says, "Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon."
As many people have said, “A weapon is only as good as the one who wields it.”
I more remember him saying “JERRIK-AH-HO!”
So our hero’s are terrible
@@NINJAfries07 This is true. No matter how amazing the weapon - it can command thralls of the undead, slay even the highest of gods, act as a technomancy focus, be a really big friggin' gun that can bust holes through planets...or it can file your taxes (hey, never underestimate how much good a weapon could potentially have against the IRS! XD) - if you don't know how to use it, it ain't gonna be of much use to you. ;3
Theres a reason "OR I COULD USE THE WARP STAFF!" has become a trademark meme of the FE franchise.
Also prolly why it was nerfed to hell in FE3H and beyond
That KH Money Jar must be overflowing at this point.
The Keyblade will always follow you as much as Touhou will

A shield isn’t a weapon
35:31 about that,Nomura has stated in a interview that, from the start of the series the keyblade was never ''a weapon only the chosen one can use'',once again a translation error that give us the wrong information.
The keyblades are picky about who can use them right?
Yeah
@@simonepinna8554 Thanks. for telling me.
It's only as strong as its wielder.
I can’t help but find it kind of hilarious that Shulk’s SWORD is the long-lost sibling of two of the main protagonists (and the final boss) of Xenoblade Chronicles 2
I mean, technically the sword is part of but still distinctly separate from said sibling, but close enough.
You know what? I’m not even gonna bother questioning it
I also have a theory as to why we have three Monados in XC1.
SPOILERS
When Alvis (also known as Ontos) was sent to the universe of XC1 along with the half of Klaus that became Zanza, his Monado was split into three pieces.
One piece went to Zanza to become his Monado
Another went to Galea and became her Monado while allowing her to become Meyneth
And the third stayed with Alvis and would later be transferred to Shulk to become the third Monado during the final fight.
@@BaxterAndLunala joshscorcher needs to react to funko fusion reveal trailer
As Peppy from Star Fox said "ya gotta change weapons to fit the situation"
Never heard him say that one, but he did teach me to 'use bombs wisely'. Very important.
@@WhiteFangofWar he said it in Star Fox Assault mission 2.

[Ranged]
*RYNO - Ratchet and Clank Series
-Guaranteed to r-r-r-r-rip ya a new one!
*Experimental MIRV - Fallout Series
- You thought the Fat Man was overpowered? Hold my beer, this one fires 8 MINI NUKES AT ONCE!
*Morph Gun - Jak and Daxter Series
-Debuting in Jak 2, this gun can switch between different types of eco to change from a shotgun, grenade launcher, minigun, etc.
*Smart Pistol - Titanfall
-It has an auto-lock system, once all targets are locked, just shoot.
[Melee]
*Buster Sword - Final Fantasy Series
-There's a reason why this giant blade is so iconic.
*Souledge - Soulcalibur Series
-A grotesque fusion of organic material and metal (complete with an eyeball).
*Chaoseater - Darksiders Series
-Wielded by War in the first game, this is like a more metal version of the Buster Sword.
*The Seperator - Brutal Legend
-2 kinds of Axes you wield in this game, the other being Eddie's guitar, Clementine.
*Insect Glaive - Monster Hunter Series
-Ever since 4 Ultimate, I've gone from Longsword to Insect Glaive.
[Magic]
*Moonlight Greatsword - Souls Series
-This is one weapon Fromsoftware loves to tuck away in many of it's games. Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, even Armored core has one.
*Sword of Night and Flame - Elden Ring
-Alongside Rivers of Blood, it's among my favorite weapons in the game. It also has 2 unique attacks, a fire swathe and a magic superlaser.
*Clementine - Brutal Legend
-ROCK N' ROLLLLL!!!
And speaking of Warframe shotguns
Hek (and Hek variants). An OP early game shotgun that will serve you well for a long time. The Kuva version allows you to use all ammo in the clip to severely damage or kill enemies.
Melee wise:
The Energy Sword and the Gravity Hammer. Those two melee weapons in Halo are great to use, and fun as hell. I go with the sword more, but the hammer could be funny when you kill people with it, or potentially yourself.
The Gravity Gun definitely is Half Life at this point.
5:58 "Mr. Torgue, no!"
"Mr. Torgue, yes. Mr. Torgue always yes!"
My honorable mentions:
Buster Sword (Final Fantasy 7)
You know you’re a JRPG protagonist when your sword looks like it’s too big to even carry around.
Cappy (Super Mario Odyssey)
A bit weird, I know, but this is no ordinary hat. He can be thrown like a boomerang, bounced on like a trampoline, and allow you to possess both living creatures and inanimate objects. Talk about a hat trick.
Coconut Gun (Donkey Kong 64)
It can fire in spurts and if he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt.
Cucco (Zelda Breath Of The Wild)
After years of being pecked to death by these murderous chickens, Link finally figured out how to use them against his enemies.
Fruit Bazooka (Crash Bandicoot)
If I had a nickel for every time a jungle creature wielded a gun that uses fruit as ammunition, I’d have two nickels.
(Doofenshmirtz oughta invent a Two-Nickels-Inator for all the times this meme was used.)
Galaxia (Kirby)
With a sword like that, it’s no wonder why Meta Knight is so cool.
Maxwell’s Notebook (Scribblenauts)
While not a weapon in the traditional sense, this handy dandy notebook can summon literally anything you want out of thin air.
Mr Toots (Red Faction Armageddon)
A unicorn that shoots exploding rainbows from his butt. Truly a weapon for Bronies everywhere.
Paddlesaw (Dead Rising)
Lookin' out the window? That's a paddlin'. Staring at my sandals? That's a paddlin'. Being a zombie in an abandoned mall? Oh, you better believe that's a paddlin'.
Poltergust (Luigi’s Mansion)
Luigi ain’t afraid of no ghosts. Okay, he’s definitely afraid, but that’s not gonna stop him from saving his bro.
Robobot Armor (Kirby Planet Robobot)
Does a mech suit count as a weapon? Well, this one can use some of Kirby’s Copy Abilities, so I say the answer is yes.
Ryno V (Ratchet And Clank)
Part minigun, part rocket launcher, this beauty unleashes a glorious river of death in whatever direction she's facing, all set to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.
Scorpion’s Rope Dart (Mortal Kombat)
You had better listen when Scorpion tells you to *GET OVER HERE!*
Shovel Blade (Shovel Knight)
Chivalry may be dead, but Shovelry lives on.
Splat Weapons (Splatoon)
The Splatershot's fire is rapid and wide
With the Splat Roller, you can really glide
Splat Charger inks a long straight line
Splat Bombs explode after a little time
When the Inkstrike comes, hope it's on your side
It's a massive ink bath, so run and hide!
(Can you blame me for using the lyrics of the song to proof my point? It’s catchy as hell.)
Vampire Killer (Castlevania)
When a vampire comes along, you must whip it.
*#1 Ranged entry* Huh. Would've thought it was a shotgun with the choice of wording before the reveal.
*#1 Melee entry* YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
*#1 Magic entry* Welp, one more for the jar.
Josh brings up KH jar?
I do hope we get a TF2 month, I want ALL the SoundSmith, LazyPurple, and Uncle Dane references.

Unfortunately with ratchet and clank, there is too many to pick, most people go with the ryno.

15:11 reverse goofy yell. Never knew I needed it
Ranged segment: I wondered if Warframe would appear, and while I had other weapons on my mind (any boom bow, other incarnon weapons, some Catchmoon pistol variants, Hekk, Ignis Wraith) the Dread is a great pick.
3:41: "Indeed. And now he's here to f(bleep) us!"
Sadly my favorite sword never makes these lists. That being the Bishamon Sword from Onimusha.
In game is so powerful and lore was the sword aswell. It was sealed behind a gate in the demon real with the key(ocarina) to open said gate is locked in the dark realm.
19:05 The one on the left is holding the much stronger Biggoron Sword! And their are ones better than even that!

12:44 damnit Josh It's a Big FuYah!ing Gun!
I think Red vs Blue referenced the Keyblade by revealing Tucker’s sword is also a key. Though they also make fun of the concept by Tucker calling this “lame”.
Don't forget about the BFG10000. It blew a hole on Mars! Ine of its siblings is even a teloporter
a few honourable mentions from me
guns:
'murica from saints row
the Bozar from fallout 2
the mega buster (remember it's still the mega buster that fires all the boss weapons once you unlock them)
the shotgun from pretty much every survival/horror game
the rail gun from MGS4
melee:
the boost kick from AC-6
the auto axe from fallout 3
the hammer from donkeykong
the market gardener
the beam katana
magic:
sunder and keening from morrowind
the golden fleece from god of war 2 and 3
My 2 cents for this...for sword, id say soul reaver from legacy of kain, only maybe master sword matches it in significance, gun propably id say doom super shotgun, but bfg is there to represent...magic id offer incantations from elden ring
I had a feeling the keyblade would be the number one magic weapon!!! WOOHOO!!! ^_^
*Count shaman shows up*
Me: Mrs. Scorcher, I found your arachnid Co-host of the Pokémon legendary's video.
No shot he used Ratchet and Clank footage and didn’t even mention the RYNO
honestly, his ranged selection wasn't that good. I mean, *supposedly* the story significance was important, and yet he chose a weapon from a game without real story, and a whole arms manufacturer that only gets spotlight on a dlc
10:41 boomstick couldnt put it any better during the doomguy vs master chief death battle "BIG FUCKING GUN 9000"
12:25 i find the "dhdhdh, positive vibes, positive vibes" to be hilarious
Meta Knight’s sword Galaxia. With this fiery blade, Metaknight can do some seriously insane stuff. Fireballs, lightning, sword beams the works. Then we got energy slashes, telekinesis, the Mach tornado, and most of all, it chooses who can wield it.
Then there’s the origin from the anime which really might as well be cannon. It’s like Excalibur but more epic
I got it!
The best:
Range weapon- Dubstep ( Saints Row 4)
Melee Weapon- Stick (Ocarina of Time)
Magic Weapon- Hair (Bayonetta)
Just going to say what my favourite weapon is for each category
Ranged weapon: Barrett’s Machine Gun hand, I don’t care if I’m wrong.
Also small honourable mention to that anchor axe thing from the same game
Magic: I don’t have a favourite magic weapon so I’m swapping this to favourite Vehicle based weapon(my favourites my rules besides magic weapons are dumb).
"Oh you're to talk, Mr Double Top Five"
-Josh to Alex before being threatened with multiple lightsabers.
Some people think they can outsmart me. Maybe. Maybe. I have yet to meet one who can outsmart bullet.
Some of my favorite weapons (films and games alike)
Ranged:
-the bolter warhammer 40k: the first weapon someone thinks about when 40k is mentioned
-the list vox machina: Percy’s iconic pepper box that is a fantastic example of integrating a firearm in medival fantasy settings
DC15 from Star Wars: FOR THE REPUBLIC
Melee
Virtuous set from nier automata: elegant weapons of some of gaming’s most tragic heros
Dooku’s lightsaber Star Wars: a signature curved blade for someone with a signature look of superiority
The chainsword from 40k: name a more iconic 40k weapon that isn’t the bolter
Magic
Occultist’s magic darkest dungeon: to fight the abyss. One must know it
Kirby’s copy ability: kinda debatable if this one is magic but it’s iconic
Ninjago keytanas references the key blade in s12
I love explosions.
Sometimes you just want to blow stuff up and go about your business.
"Hi, I'm an OP boss-"
"Frick you"
*BOOM*

I am I am so happy in the same week as my Pre birthday a new video drops that has the Keyblade in it??? Let's Heckin gooooooooooooooooooo
SHULK: I CAN SEE THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!
REX AND NIA HAVE A CHILD!!!!
I'm a bit disappointed none of Frank West's homemade weapons were mentioned.
You were right to pick the #1 choice in the magic category. It is the best out of them all.
i'll be litsing my favourite weapons from all 3 categories because you convinved me to share them here in the comment section.
*favourite magic weapon:* the Magic Sword, from MediEvil.
once you unlock it, it will obliterate any enemy in your path that dares comes close. and the design is just *chef's kiss*
*favourite ranged weapon:* the Bow, from Minecraft.
the only bow i genuinely find satisfying to play.
*favourite melee weapon:* honestly, i don't think i can choose: Iron Sword and Krell Shield from Chronos Before the Ashes, or Monster Hunter's SnS (without specifying which)? you know what? i'll choose both.
the former has simple combat mechanics and weapon designs, but i like simplicity. and i found it fun learning how to approach certain enemies; the latter has one of the best combat mechanics i've experienced with the "Sword N' Board" combo, and i've slain plenty of monsters with it - again, not specifying which one; because we'd be here all day.
...I really have to question the logic by which Dagger of Time counts as a melee weapon, but Blades of Chaos qualify as magic
This got me so nostalgic of the green scorpion weapons master video
My list:
Ranged
5: The karak from warframe, a reliable rifle that, while is nothing compared to later weapons, is fantastic for a tenno starting their journey.
4: throwing blades from medievil ps4. These are huge upgrades from the ps1 version. Sure, they fall off, but dang, they are fun to use
3: morph gun from jak 3. 12 weapons in one.
2: the ryno from Ratchet and Clank. May not always be the most powerful option. But it is garunteed to rip ya a new one!
1: cattlemen revolver red dead, a cowboy's best friend, that gets better the more you put into it.
Melee:
5: magic sword from medievil, weilded by legendary heroes.. and sir dan.
4: spear, nioh 2, a good starter weapon, but is fun to master
3: pilebunker from armored core 6, the rubiconian handshake
2: cal's lightsaber from star wars jedi, highly customizable and cal's right hand man
1: death's scythes from darksiders, a really cool take on the reaper's signature weapon.
Magic:
5: keyblade kingdom hearts, specifically oathkeeper, my favorite in any game
4: chronosepter, ratchet and clank, did not feel like technology to me, felt more magical. Allows wielder to manipulate time
3: Cross dante's Inferno, great for slaying demons.
2: voodoo doll pirates of the carribean online, your intro into magic.
1: onmyo magic, nioh 2, a fantastic way to deal with foes as it levels up.
Please do Top 10 Most WTF Fighting Game Characters!!
Gotta have Amingo on there. Maybe Chandelure from Pokken Tournament since it's a frickin chandelier in a fighting tournament
Glad that the Monado got a spot, and I'm not even remotely shocked that the Keyblade turned up.
"And when it comes to swords wielded by said hero, none are more iconic than the Monado"
Good choice, but buster sword would like a word.
Personal honorable mention :
Mini-Hakkero (Touhou)
In case I'm ever in a situation where I need a cooking fire or shoot out a giant rainbow death laser, or probably a situation requiring both at the same time.
You should make more triple top fives.
Love the Wambu reference on Magic weapons number 3 spot.
Silly question, but anyone know what music was used during the number 4 entry for the magic weapons segment?
5:35 "But the Torgue brand boomstick can shoot six rockets at once. And does anywhere between 310 and 1258 points of damage. And it can be fitted with elemental accessories, and-"
"Can it do this?" *fires weapon backwards over the shoulder*
"Not without (melting your eardrums or) shooting your knees off."
"Then I'll pass."
HASHTAG SAVERWBY!
