I'm from Argentina and this is very true. Psychoanalysis is very rooted in our society and is very hard to maintain a partner for a long time, the relationship decays really fast. This is because, in my humble opinion, do not accept what love really is and instead we idealize love. God bless you all

Don't worry, it's not everyone who is sexless, some are having abundance of it, and even more are having none of it. That's what happens when hypergamy is left unchecked and hedonism is applauded.

No. Nietzche criticizes this idea of morality in his book the genealogy of morals. This idea, that modern peoplenhave that giving without receiving is good or moral. Think about the culture and society of people who would deem that act morally good. Giving without receiving is absurd. This is way too deep to go into if you've never read books on moral philosophy and it's history so my comment probably won't make sense. I guess I'm just saying, think about why certain things have been deemed morally good or bad, and who or what type of people would make those distinctions.
I wouldn't say love is Giving without receiving at all. Ayn rand talks about this as well. The idea of selfishness, as in i do for you because i love you, but also bcause i get things in return. If we all did things for each other with no return, that wouldn't really end well for you in the long run.

The history of psychology and psychoanalysis in Argentina is really complex. In part, we lived almost half of Twentieth century under dictatorships that made us naturalize violence and censorship in a very particular way (different from a war for example). And also, after the last dictatorship, which applied state terrorism on the civilian population (destroying families and stealing babies) psychology courses were reopened in public universities, allowing many of the people affected by state terrorism to access that education.

Why would tramping around be thought of as running away, that doesn't make a whole lotta sense. As far as Love is concerned you know its love when both parties feel the same. And unfortunately when you lose someone or your pet then you feel love as a physical thing not just of the heart. Only you know when its love, and you express it in sometimes the stupidest ways from the outside but to you its love. Love lasts forever its not a passing emotion, if you dont love someone anymore then you never really did. Loves a funny thing. And you know just look at your pet, thats love. Have a great day. And give a pet for me.

Love is NEVER unconditional ! An impulse coming from the environment is a precondition for this state of sickness.
Zizek himself described it that way, that even non-attractive traces then would be accepted. Hence, there can be a "fly in the ointment" (that sooner or later will appear in the love-bubble anyway), which itself also undoubtedly is a condition. Only if we reformulate this entire field without conditonal or unconditional we can get a grasp of what we're talking about. Fundamentally I claim, as soon as we talk about it, it isn't love anymore. What we do for another person is love. And here we meet a vast spectrum of expressing this ever changing state. Why is it that love changes it's form and expression throughout the years living with another person? It clearly isn't a state but moreso a dynamic affair.
An old fashioned religiously indoctrinated set of mind we see here in Zizek, nothing else I claim. Sorry I talk too much 😊

Tell Slavoj this: Sex and love are 2 different things, a man wants many sex partners but only 1 love partner. We love our children, we do not want to have sex with our children. Love is to protect our family beyond our will to survive, to ensure a greater survival chance for the offspring. Wanting to have many sexual partners as a man is to spread the semen.
