Like deni too but I feel as soon as he gets the ball in fast break he look mire for drawing a foul instead a kick out pass and I feel that slow down team momentum if he could just see the pass sometimes 😢
Since Blazers are Tanking, they should Start Scott, Sharpe, Donavon, Camara, and Deni. This core is our future and they all need meaningful minutes every night since we are Tanking for the Flagg!
You said it correct, if Deni is playing 20-23 minutes per game off the bench he should be traded to an elite team, where his contribution will be more significant.
isn`t being bad part of the tanking? that said, team is not being "coached". Which means players aren`t really developing. which is also a big part of tanking
I know that everyone loves Camara...but he can't score to save his life. He is totally a one-way player. There is a reason that he was drafted in the 2nd round.
Canada’s offense has gotten better this year , hitting 3s, getting to the rack often now, but the finishing isn’t there, the offensive understanding is there, as his handle and finishing get better , it won’t be a problem. His impactful defense saves points, it’s defense as offense.
DA’s defense was so sad, so many close outs where he just watches, doesn’t even get a hand up. He cares not for defense but is absolutely capable of at least jumping with hands up. Deni is great, Grant was bad. Scoot’s naive self confidence bubble has been burst by everyone and their grandma and might need years to bounce back after the humbling start to his career, but I do believe he will. So crazy to have 20 year olds expected to compete like vets. What were you doing at 20? If like me, it was fumbling around just beginning to figure out adult life still.
What I want to try is to see is two separate starting lineups that alternate games. TEAM YOUTH: Clingan, Camara, Avidja, Henderson, Sharpe TEAM VET: Williams, Ayton, Grant, Ant, Mattise BACKUPS (for both teams): Banton, Walker, Reath, Rupert, Murray Each team plays six minutes in each quarter. All five guys on the other team sub in halfway through the quarter. Will it work? Probably not, but I want to see the young guys playing together, because building a consistent core is the most important thing now - play the guys that will be here five years from now together. If we are actively showcasing everyone on Team Vet, then play them together as well - they should be well motivated to shine with the other vets so they can hopefully land a fat new contract with another team down the road. While this gimmick won’t yield .500 basketball, the lineups do make sense. With Ant and Scoot never playing together, each team has only one really bad defensive player. There’s a clear #1 option on each team (Sharpe and Ant), and options for a #2 scoring threat in Deni/Scoot or Grant/Ayton. There is a clear rim protector on rach team with Clingan and Williams. There is a defensive specialist on each team with Camara and Thybulle. And Ayton gets his wish of being a 4 and can maybe reinvent himself there. All ten players potentially get 24 minutes a game. Players hopefully stay healthier with fewer minutes and most importantly can focus on knowing the idiosyncrasies of the other four guys they play with routinely. A crazy gimmick? Maybe, But the results wouldn’t likely be worse than what we are seeing now.
If it's broke... don't fix it. this has been the strategy since the front office began sending fans advertising brochures to join the ping pong extravaganza. (2021)
If I remember correctly, the current starters did not shoot any free throws last night. Let that sink in. It is the worst lineup and needs to change asap.
Sharpe, Deni, Camara, Clingan, Rupert, Scoot are a good young core to build from. All were missing is a superstar like Cooper Flagg or maybe Ace Bailey and someone who knows how to coach an NBA team. 😂😂
I don't think they will start Deni over Camara. It's the easiest thing to do but actually Camara with Scoot at the second lineup means even less shooting and this might be terrible. The best solution is to put Deni over Grant. This will probably happen anyway since Grant will be traded soon.
The thing I'm joyful about the Blazers is were now the canary in the coal mine for an opponent needing SERIOUS adjustment if they lose to us. It's funny and depressing; it's depressingly funny.
DA and Grant are the last stop for the ball, Simmons looks like he moves the ball due to his assists, but he gets them out of play, when he doesn't get open, so it's largely still against healthy dynamic. Scoot is also a problem, but maybe he's just young? Or maybe we've seen enough of him?
The conundrum this year is the uncertainty of the vets being traded and which of the new guys are going to stick. This is similar to being told by your employer that they need to reduce the workforce and will start making cuts in a month or two. Suddenly everybody is a potential opponent to your staying and you also need to prove your worth, so you do things selfishly and likely out of your lane. The agents are whispering in their ears as they usually have good insight on the proposed deals. The only guys that seem safe are Clingan, Shae, Deni, and Camara. Everybody else is looking over their shoulder, which makes for a tough way to play the game.
Scoot won't do much untill the whole team moves, cuts and hustles on the floor and stops standing around like statues. Coach lately has Clingan standing still and flat footed in the deep corner Like he thinks he's Ray Allen 11 years ago. Scoot not playing like he wants to win or wants the team to win, he plays like he don't want anyone to get pissed at him.
Deni is the best all around player on this team. He defends, he shoots, he bullies, and by far is the fastest player on the team. Trade JG asap. That’s a start.
This team is in dire need of DOGS. They are both soft mentally and physically. Need enforcers here folks and some vocal leaders. Sheed and Pipp were dogs, Roy and Andre M were dogs, Lillard Ed Davis, Z Collins were dogs. Do you see any dogs here besides Camara/Deni?
I was a proponent of getting Brooks for his edge but he would have been barking at his own teammates more often than the opposition how we play matador defense, can't get over a pick etc. etc. etc. The fact that they are unwilling to TRY change is indicative of how they feel about the fanbase. Indifferent. It is all about $, player politics/hierarchy and kicking the can down the road.
Hey Mike! Very thankful for your Blazers content and work you put into this. The writing seems to be on the wall for Scoot Henderson. Even if he does develop into an all-star, we're better off trading him for a FRP, than waiting 3-5 years to find out.
Love Deni! More minutes please.
Grant :
No. They need to showcase my 2/15 .
@ 🤣

@@Kanjiieyou mean he’s actually playing basketball?

The starting lineup should be Deni, Sharpe, Toumani, Grant and Ayton. Deni could play the Ben Simons role before the mental issues
Start Deni over Camara and trade Grant please

I think we’ve seen Scoot, Shae, and Clingan on the court at the same time for less than 20 minutes this year
P.S. Deni was great, his percentages, numbers per 36, and potential assists (per advanced stats), were pretty good.

Camara* obviously . “Canada” lol, that’s Shaden I suppose
He’s there to play defense
@ basically the points that he doesn’t give up are canceled out by the points that he doesn’t score. Even steven.

We need to go big. I want Clingan, Ayton, Grant, Avdija and Scoot.
Why avdija doesn't starting the games? It's unbelievable
Sharpe, Deni, Camara, Clingan, Rupert, Scoot are a good young core to build from. All were missing is a superstar like Cooper Flagg or maybe Ace Bailey and someone who knows how to coach an NBA team. 😂😂
Looking very likely Scoot will go the entire month of December without playing a 30 minute + game. Not great to see:/

scoot looks terrible. please send him back to the G-league. there he can get all the playing time and more developement without hurting the blazers.

Unconventional idea - Trade Avdija to a team like Denver. Probably the best trade value in the team atm.
😂😂😂
Deni isn’t leaving us
What could you possibly get from Denver?
His value is low compared to what it can be so this is a stupid takw
free deni, nobody deserves to go from wiz to trailblazers lol talk about going from the frying pan to the fire
