  • Dr. Jack Kruse is a neurosurgeon who had an awakening in 2007 after suffering a torn meniscus. This led to his study of physics, light, magnetism, and electricity. He ultimately concluded that modern medicine lacked a deep understanding of how humans function in relation to the natural world. Kruse lost 150 lbs. using his newly acquired understanding. He is CEO of Kruse Longevity Center, a health and wellness company dedicated to helping patients avoid the healthcare burdens typically encountered with age.
    Bill Gifford is coauthor, with Peter Attia, of Outlive, a current New York Times bestseller. He is a veteran journalist and editor who has written extensively on science, sports, and fitness for Wired, Businessweek, Men's Health, Men's Journal, Slate, and The New Republic. He is also the author of books like Ledyard: In Search of the First American Explorer and Spring Chicken: Stay Young Forever (or Die Trying).

    Dear Tetragrammaton,
    On part 4, you should include a co-guest who can actually concur or debate Dr Jack. While I appreciate his overall message and don't doubt its legitimacy as a voice for discussion, you'd be a fool not to take everything he says with a grain of locally sourced sea salt. Nature is also pineapple-mango ice cream in the middle of winter in Portland Oregon, because following Dr Jack's criteria it exists robustly thanks to the natural adaptations of planes, trucks, and freezers. Yes it might not be healthy to eat this ice cream every day over the winter, but I think putting dried ancho chiles from a different place obviously in my winter squash enchiladas made with fantastic Cento canned tomatoes probably won't lead to my health problems. That, or I'm an ignorant human adapting as we've always done to my current surroundings. Yes California strawberries have no taste so I don't eat them ever let alone in wintertime, and yes fresh Mt Hood strawberries could be the best on the planet, overrippening in a few days. But I'd be remiss not to put some in a freezer package and take them to you, so as to blend a smoothie with our joint location best ingredients. So, please, it'd be nice to have more of a pushback than simply the other guy saying, well I'm still going to eat my bananas.

    As far as I'm concerned, Kruse has to be brash because you're talking about an industry that wants nothing to do with real truth, sincerity, change, or solutions. I love the fact that he often comes off as an asshole. The other side, and any who find his tone and delivery offensive should refer to the nice guy liars everyone else entrusts.

    • @thomasgustafsson7962
      @thomasgustafsson7962 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I agree, it's refreshing. I think he has to be brash and shock people a little to make them open to new information when the centralized perspective is ingrained. Tony Robbins does the same at his events and it catches people's attention.
      Another point is that he might know better than anyone how much people's health are getting messed up from how things are. I can understand that he's passionate and a little frustrated about it. Honestly, people should be more angry but they aren't because most blindly swallow the narratives.

    I was able to get through this discussion with Dr. Jack Cruz as opposed to his previous two. However, I do agree with other commenters that it's very hard to get past his assertive personality. His audible book uses AI technology and is narrated horribly and even reading his book and blogs that overbearing personality comes through, which is definitely difficult to get by. All of that being said, I think a lot of his thoughts are interesting and as someone who has been microdosing psilocybin for going on 6 months now with only positive things to say about it, I am wondering if there's any connection with the benefits of it and the visual change that I register when I take it. It's not hallucinations. It's more that I can see everything more clearly. Textures, colors, shapes, light.
    Just a thought.

    There is something important here but Jack Kruse in whatever ADHD/juxtaposition mess he has renders him incapable of delivering a cogent thought that is digestible. My company is really good at packaging complex issues for people to invest millions in and I don’t think I could do with Jack. First you Can’t have him on with three people. (Huberman ego being the worst foil to these important but deeply deeply buried gems of thought). Second you Rick must let him finish and force him to have a narrative thread that smart humans can get Any value out of. Rick muster all your zen focus, feed Jack Camomile tea (maybe CBD?) and hire the world’s best editors to find the gold hidden deeply in all the lead.
