The music in this is so under appreciated.

Lemmings is an excellent port of the PC classic, and it's still endlessly playable despite the lack of mouse support.

The original version is actually the Amiga.

They just don't make puzzle games quite like this one these days. What a masterpiece this is.

Wish the SNES Mario Paint mouse would have been perfect for this game. Nintendo's loss for not using it for more games like this one. Oh,well. Still fun and simple to play today! :)

@@superhyrulean I remember spending £80 on Mario Paint to get the mouse for King Arthur's World, and they were terrible. The ball would collect so much dust despite using the mousepad, and would become glitchy really quickly.
The lack of functionality compared to the controller because of the lack of buttons was another handicap.
And yeah, the amount of games that supported it was abysmal. Mario Paint itself was so bad. I played it for perhaps three or four hours in total before becoming supremely bored.
That was two months of paper round money gone in a flash. It's still a sore point to this day as you can tell!

So many memories from this game...my best friend owned it and I'd borrow it constantly but never successfully beat it. I forget actually how far I got in this game...good times though. Back when times were so much simpler.

I used to have so much fun with this game's two player mode. Neither of us even tried to complete the levels: we'd just sabotage each other in the funniest ways we could find, like "parabombers" (parasol + bomb)

In the SNES version shown here, yes. There's a competitive two player mode.

@@kirbylover2.038Many ports included 2 player, except for MS-DOS, NES, Commodore 64, SMS, Game Gear (technically has a 2 player mode, but it's just the 1 player levels with two players trying to complete the level first or so i've heard), Windows, Macintosh, original Game Boy (not to be mistaken with the Color port which does have it), and some obscurer ports i don't remember the names of.

I had just got surgery on one of my toes and my dad setup what we like to call "Couch pit" in the basement. Pushed to sofa's together to make a mega bed/pit. He rented the game lemmings for me.

I have massing nostalgia for this game, despite never beating it, and not getting very far. When I saw the exit hidden... it blew my mind.

I prefer the Genesis version (especially for its soundtrack), but the SNES game is still very good. Fair difficulty curve, too. The early levels do an excellent job of tutorializing all the different skills, but the later levels gradually increase the challenge and require you to have perfect accuracy. Level designs are great, but it's admittedly really funny to see these cute little creatures walking around in a "Shadow of the Beast" level or even the infamous "666" stage in the Super Famicom version.

Ah, Lemmings. The game where 99% of it revolves around you trying to figure out how to make all but one lemming do absolutely nothing, and not die from it as that one other Lemming builds everything else. :P

funny to think the people who made this (DMA not sunsoft) would later go on to make another game im shure none of you heard of it before its called....

This is the version of Lemmings that I played like, 4 years ago, this and its sequel, the Tribes. I had a LOT of fun with these games. This is absolutely one of my favorite Lemmings ports. The soundtrack is probably my favorite version of the bunch as well. I especially enjoy this interpretation of fellow DMA/Rockstar classic Menace's theme. Regardless of the version, if Lemmings has any enduring reputation, it's that this game is NOT for the faint of heart. At least on later stages, after the games do a decent job of easing the player into the mechanics through some easy-peasy introductory puzzles, they then gradually build in difficulty until it gets to the point where pixel-perfect precision and tons of trial and error are required to succeed. But yeah, watching the little pixelated critters march along to the funky public domain music, assigning "jobs" to each of them to accomplish certain tasks and hearing "OH NO!" as you press the nuke button to watch them explode into bits...pure video game magic.
