I would be contacting the office which issues business licenses and getting the name of the land owner. Ultimately the land owner is responsible financially and if you pressure them they may give up the business owner.
Matt, I’m sure you’ve thought of this. If you’ve got the cctv footage, watch it carefully till you see the vehicle removing the car wash equipment, the owners/staff cars registration numbers. You might have to watch quite a few days worth of film, but they were sloppy. They would make mistakes. Then send round the boys.

It's not been vindictive ... it's only right that they contribute to what is significant costs to the car. My other concern is that if they have done this to you they may well have done this to other people who aren't in a position to fund or sort their own repairs. It doesn't work gettingbthe insurance co to sort it, I tried this with a 405 estate which had a lot of useful life left in it after it was hit while parked and the van driver drove off. They wrote it off, Cat.C, more expensive to repair than their (low) valuation. I bought the car from them as scrap and repaired it, but it cost more than it would have done if I had just fixed it because I had to have it professionally inspected and then inspected by VOSA before I could tax and insure it. To add insult to injury, the car passed an MOT before I repaired it, the damage was trivial, but inclded a cracked front bumper.

Under the Road traffic act, if the Van was insured, (despite the fact the driver may not be) then that insurer has to cover the third party liability, meaning that they will have to pay for the repair of your damage. It would then be for that insurer to take a civil claim out against the car wash owners. Alternatively the Motor insurance bureau, have an uninsured motorist fund which in the right circumstances they use to pay out for incidents involving uninsured drivers.
Report them to who? The police wouldn’t be interested, even if you had their names and addresses. They’d tell you ‘that’s what car insurance is for’ and any insurance company would be even less interested unless you had the details of the driver and his policy details which we all know will be non existent. Reporting things all sounds well and good in theory until you’re in one of these situations yourself when you quickly learn that no one is interested unless it’s an easy job or there’s enough money likely to go in their direction. It’s like when a house gets burgled, the police won’t turn up unless they know who it is, otherwise they’ll give you a crime number and tell you to give it to your insurance. This is the ‘liberal utopia’ Britain has become.

Matt I think you owe it to the motoring community to pursue this. After all, if they just get away with it, they will start at another site. The garage site owner has duty of care ensure whomever operates there is insured, so even if the car wash don't pay up, the garage site insurance should. They will know who took the contract out with them as well. By reporting it to police and giving the site owner some pain, you may deter other garage sites allowing shoddy practice. I'm sure if they had backed into a petrol pump The garage would be insured!. Worth the 60 quid punt at small claims court.

I'm surprised they were allowed to continue to operate given they hadn't paid a water bill for 8-9 months. If they'd damaged 3 more cars after hitting the Maserati then there could well be countless more that they've damaged before then.

Aight now for attaching headlight clips, there r 2 ways. i know this cos I own a Maserati GT too and I had this almost exact accident b4, (parked at a car park and got knocked by an old man on his tricycle and I didn let him pay 😂😂😂) 1 way( the best way) is to get the backing of the headlight gasket, 2 glue it with iron powder. I did it with just glue it didn hold on, but after putting on iron powder it’s alright. U can try that. Cheers.
Yep best to just fix it as soon as you involve insurance it'll be a write off. I got hit once on a duel carriageway from behind the usual the guy in front dabs the brakes I lift and the guy following too close didn't So I had broken rear light and some scratches or scuffs on the rear bumper. I rang my insurance to claim. They asked the usual what happened, how fast were you going? 65-70mph what's the damage. They asked if other parts were damaged rear wing,door exhaust??? which was no. They said they would come to collect the car for assesment. The next thing I know I've got some bozo on the phone saying he's collecting the car as Its a write off. so I rang my insurance and they said the car was a write off ( even though nobody had looked at it at this point) So I asked why, and they said I'd declared damage to the rear and side of the care in a 70mph accident. When I explained the only damage was a broken rear light and some scuffing in the rear bumper . they came back with the epic "Well thats only what you can see." And proceeded to read me the riot act about the damage in a 70mph accident. So I asked about taking the money and buying the car back and they said no we will take it and destroy it as its a Cat A I had to point out that the impact speed was more like 5-10mph and the damage is minimal. The Car Bozo and the insurance called me contantly for the next 3 days to collect the car askng where it was. "At work with me" was the reply. They couldn't get their heads around that the car wasn't damaged other than a broken light and that I was still driving it. In the end I went to an independent garage for that brand and they replaced the rear light and checked everything underneath and said there was no other damage. So the next thing I've got the insurance assessor on the phone saying I need to come and see if the car is repairable. and that I must make the car availible. so I said I'll save you the bother it's fixed!" ( He wasn't happy) I then had the insurance on to me about the car being CatA and can't be repaired. at which point I told them straght you haven't even seen the car the car isn't a write off the damage was minimal A broken rear light and a scuff and has already been repaired. So I then had to cancel the claim and send them photos of my car to prove it was repaired and then they removed the CatA as the car had never been assessed and no money was paid out on the claim. Absolute balls up!

My neighbour witnessed a car washer back into a parked car they’d just finished and the bumper deformed momentarily and they just buffed it up and didn’t say anything…at a Tesco Car Wash. They were middle eastern and all probably here illegally they just left and moved the car wash to another location and do the same thing again police will do nothing and them kind of people dont care what they do to others. Yet we have the border wide open for more to come and do this.
Under the Road traffic act, if the Van was insured, (despite the fact the driver may not be) then that insurer has to cover the third party liability, meaning that they will have to pay for the repair of your damage.
It would then be for that insurer to take a civil claim out against the car wash owners.
Alternatively the Motor insurance bureau, have an uninsured motorist fund which in the right circumstances they use to pay out for incidents involving uninsured drivers.

Report them to who? The police wouldn’t be interested, even if you had their names and addresses. They’d tell you ‘that’s what car insurance is for’ and any insurance company would be even less interested unless you had the details of the driver and his policy details which we all know will be non existent. Reporting things all sounds well and good in theory until you’re in one of these situations yourself when you quickly learn that no one is interested unless it’s an easy job or there’s enough money likely to go in their direction. It’s like when a house gets burgled, the police won’t turn up unless they know who it is, otherwise they’ll give you a crime number and tell you to give it to your insurance. This is the ‘liberal utopia’ Britain has become.

I like your attitude to the damage but there is NO WAY I’d let some chancer walk away from the incident especially if it’s a habit they have 🤬🤬🤬🤬. Police won’t be interested at all. They’ll say it’s a civil matter. And civil justice is basically non existent in the uk now.

Once fixed take the invoice(s) to the insurer of the vehicle that reversed into u. They should deal with your claim as RTA insurers.
They probably already canceled that insurance, if they ever had it. That's why at the beginning of the video he points out when he asked did they have any insurance he go no response.

Matt I think you owe it to the motoring community to pursue this. After all, if they just get away with it, they will start at another site.
The garage site owner has duty of care ensure whomever operates there is insured, so even if the car wash don't pay up, the garage site insurance should. They will know who took the contract out with them as well. By reporting it to police and giving the site owner some pain, you may deter other garage sites allowing shoddy practice. I'm sure if they had backed into a petrol pump
The garage would be insured!. Worth the 60 quid punt at small claims court.

Could he not of gone after the van owner insurance as he is the one that let a uninsured illegal driver to drive his vaan on public access so he should be at fault to.
I'm surprised they were allowed to continue to operate given they hadn't paid a water bill for 8-9 months. If they'd damaged 3 more cars after hitting the Maserati then there could well be countless more that they've damaged before then.

I’m so sorry to see this mat. And u sld really let them pay or call the police at the time of the accident. Aight now for attaching headlight clips, there r 2 ways. i know this cos I own a Maserati GT too and I had this almost exact accident b4, (parked at a car park and got knocked by an old man on his tricycle and I didn let him pay 😂😂😂) 1 way( the best way) is to get the backing of the headlight gasket, 2 glue it with iron powder. I did it with just glue it didn hold on, but after putting on iron powder it’s alright. U can try that. Cheers.

I got hit once on a duel carriageway from behind the usual the guy in front dabs the brakes I lift and the guy following too close didn't So I had broken rear light and some scratches or scuffs on the rear bumper.
I rang my insurance to claim. They asked the usual what happened, how fast were you going? 65-70mph what's the damage. They asked if other parts were damaged rear wing,door exhaust??? which was no. They said they would come to collect the car for assesment.
The next thing I know I've got some bozo on the phone saying he's collecting the car as Its a write off. so I rang my insurance and they said the car was a write off ( even though nobody had looked at it at this point) So I asked why, and they said I'd declared damage to the rear and side of the care in a 70mph accident. When I explained the only damage was a broken rear light and some scuffing in the rear bumper . they came back with the epic "Well thats only what you can see." And proceeded to read me the riot act about the damage in a 70mph accident.
So I asked about taking the money and buying the car back and they said no we will take it and destroy it as its a Cat A
I had to point out that the impact speed was more like 5-10mph and the damage is minimal.
The Car Bozo and the insurance called me contantly for the next 3 days to collect the car askng where it was. "At work with me" was the reply. They couldn't get their heads around that the car wasn't damaged other than a broken light and that I was still driving it.
In the end I went to an independent garage for that brand and they replaced the rear light and checked everything underneath and said there was no other damage.
So the next thing I've got the insurance assessor on the phone saying I need to come and see if the car is repairable. and that I must make the car availible.
so I said I'll save you the bother it's fixed!" ( He wasn't happy)
I then had the insurance on to me about the car being CatA and can't be repaired.
at which point I told them straght you haven't even seen the car the car isn't a write off the damage was minimal A broken rear light and a scuff and has already been repaired.
So I then had to cancel the claim and send them photos of my car to prove it was repaired and then they removed the CatA as the car had never been assessed and no money was paid out on the claim. Absolute balls up!
I'd still be speaking to the police about it

You go to the police. You get the insurance company of the 3rd party involved. THIS IS WHAT YOU PAY YOUR PREMIUMS for Mat. Yes, it makes extra content for your channel repairing it but seriously what’s the point in letting off the 3rd party, he may not have been at fault in actually hitting your car but it was HIS vehicle. He entrusted his van to the washers and ALLOWED THEM to drive HIS vehicle that subsequently HIT YOUR car.

How many of the millions of car washes in the UK are legit businesses? They are like pop-up shops with questionable staff! My neighbour witnessed a car washer back into a parked car they’d just finished and the bumper deformed momentarily and they just buffed it up and didn’t say anything…at a Tesco Car Wash. Good Luck with the rebuild.
