I only realized after watching a couple reactions that it was Logan playing White Death's son. I didn't recognize him at all. And I'm only now picking up on the Percy reference, hilarious.

What an absolute blast this movie was. Wouldn't have expected Brad Pitt in this role, but I'm so glad he did it. And you can see in the press tours that he had a lot of fun doing it.

There seems to be a theme in this movie about your own weapon being your downfall. Wolf is killed with his knife, Hornet with her poison, Tangerine with his gun, and White Death is killed by his daughter, who he likely raised as a weapon. Prince is the only exception to this, and even then, she uses Lemon as a weapon against Father.
Brad Pitt will be 59 next month. Let that sink in. The guys practically a senior citizen and he's better looking than 99% of the world. Life just isn't fair. Lol

This movie was extreme!!! Extreme deaths and the extreme humor makes it extremely ridiculous and fun to watch... Worth rewatching again.. 🥰

Brad Pitts character doesn’t have just bad luck, he has like bad good luck. Like good things happen to him in bad ways, like saving him from being killed by accidentally killing someone else, or getting stabbed by Hornet so he gets the antidote and the snake later can’t kill him.
Punch and Judy is a puppet show from the Victoria Era in England. It's one of those references that just carries on. The episode of Avatar when they went to the fire festival and there was that little puppet show is a reference to Punch and Judy as well.
It's not only Japanese inspiration, it's based on a Japanese novel ;)
Edit: I still haven't watched the movie, but I didn't mind watching your reaction as I've read the novel and don't think I can spoil the plot much anymore. The two most significant differences to the novel as far as I can tell are that the train in the novel goes only over 4 hrs in the daytime - which btw is the max time you can spend on a bullet train in Japan even if you take the longest possible route - and "The Prince" in the novel is an around 16 years old psycopathic Japanese high school boy. the whole story in the novel centers a lot more on the prince as a psychopath and how to get Kimaru's son out of his grasp. Also, a bit sad they wrote The Pusher and Kimaru's parents (who are also assassins) completely out of the plot.
The movie looks great! The added Hollywood action and comedy is a clear win for me. I'll definitely watch it for entertainment. But guys, read the novel too! It's very fast-paced and the plot a lot less westernized and a lot more gritty.

This movie is so rich in everything! The sights, the music, the characters, the conversation, the stories, the action..like everything's turned up to extra. It feels anime-ish but since it's not an adaptation of any anime, the extra-ness is not cringey, instead it worked and made the movie a blast. The characters are so colorful and quirky and while not all of them are likeable, they are designed to be unforgettable. I hope they make more movies like this. instead of wasting money on very sub-par adaptations of already-awesome animes/mangas, they could adapt novels where the world is more adaptable to any interpretation/imagination.
I'm going to be that person...that snake is nowhere near a Boomslang! 🤣

This is a really fine detail, but the director confirmed the tangerine truck is the exact same tangerine truck that almost hit Ladybug and got his shoes wet at the beginning.
I saw this in theater assuming it was just a brad pit action movie and was pleasantly surprised. This movie was hilarious and I loved it

Michael Shannon (The Russian) was Zod in Superman and Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool of course. Zazie Beetz (Hornet) was in Deadpool 2 in which Brad Pitt had a cameo. Aaron Taylor Johnson also played Pietro Maximoff in Avengers Age of Ultron.

This was my favorite movie of 2022 and probably in my top ten. Can’t wait to read the book! The Elder was my favorite because he’s a loyal badass plain and simple. Plus when he just tells Ladybug his story anyway and Ladybug just rolls with it after saying no reminds me of my family lol.
I feel like this is one of the few Hollywood movies that really managed to really capture the feel of "anime". It's not afraid of going absolutely apeshit bonkers while still being somewhat philosophical despite of it. The characters are absolutely hilarious, but at the same time the movie never made any of its characters stumbling idiots for the sake of comedy.

I didn't know this came out yet. I'm lazy with my stream checks. I really wanted to see this and it was fun. It's that category movie: you didn't know you needed it until you got it and it was perfectly made to just be absurdly entertaining.

This film is so close to being a 10/10 for me.
Bullet train has gotta be my #1 favorite movie of all 2022 and in my top 10 of all time. The way the music just enhanced the scenes, how unique each character was even if they were only around for a quick fight scene, the setting of the movie being pretty much entirely in the cramped space of a bullet train. I watched this movie in a cinema where they had the walls on the side of the room projecting part of the movie for a type of surrounding experience which added to both the cramped feeling of some scenes and the opened feeling of the later scenes which was also rad.
I don't usually watch action movies but again this was so good an so funny
This one probably my favorite movie of the year. It's such a fun watch. So much going on and it comes all together at the end. Love it.
To familiarize NineTailBrush more with Channing Tatum, I'd show him 21 Jump Street & 22 Jump Street and White House Down and Free Guy. I loved all those movies. Logan Lucky is also pretty good and Jupiter Ascending is underrated I think, but also not that great either, but Tatum is great in it. G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G.I.Joe: Retaliation was also very good and fun Channing Tatum movies, in my opinion.

Self discovered fun fact: At the end, there were four survivors from the bullet train: Ladybug, Elder, Kimura and Lemon. In East Asia, four means death, but in this case, guess not.
Also, the Elder got revenge, and is still alive, whilst characters like him are usually killed at the end.
I saw this in theaters when it came out, seeing all this chaos on the big screen was epic!
You mentioned how great the timing was on the sun rising... and then when you finished watching the film, the sun came in through your window. Nice.
i saw this movie in the theater with my mom. my teenager wanted to come and i said no because it hought it might be too violent. im so gladi said no, it was way more violent than i had anticipated. it was a good movie and really well done but it was a lot ot take in in the theater. i think lemon is my favorite. or the badass grandfather with the sword. its funny i watched so much thomas with my kid when they were little that i knew exactly what lemon was tlaking about. i still know the themesong by heart. i wish my brain had retained something more useful, like math or something.

@@killert_7759 i am not. my kid has seen a lot of things. but theres a LOT of violence in this and they are barely 13. im not overprotective but im also not givng my kid the free for all that my mom gave me. i saw way too much wat too young and got pretty desensitized.

"Maria Beetle" is the novel that the film is based on and the title character is played by Sandra Bullock (sounding and looking so good).
Btw, Sandra Bullock with Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt were in another film this year, "The Lost City".
The director, Leitch made a cold war thriller called Atomic Blonde (2017) with Charlize Theron.

Their is foreshadowing, when Tangerine and lemon are talking about bullet proof vests, Lemon talks about getting shot in the neck and Tangerine talks about bullet to the chest, Lemon gets shot in the chest Tangerine in the neck. Also in the movie the book Canning Tatum is reading during his cameo comes from the movie The Lost City (2022), in which he co-stars with Brad Pitt & Sandra Bullock.
I love this film so much, but it also frustrates me so much that Tangerine died.

This movie felt just like a Quentin Tarantino movie. I love how the only characters that got off the train unscathed was the Boomslang and the Water Bottle 😅
I'll be honest, when I watched the trailer for this film I though it looked dumb. I only went to watch it because my friends were going and I was so pleasantly surprised and it is definitely now a film I could watch any time it is on TV or on a streaming service I have since it's just so fun
