    The preliminary report on the ATR-72 accident in Brazil is now available. Can we expect a video?

      @@yosoydanix2163 The question is not if we get it - the question is just when. After all he needs to find the time to turn the preliminary report into a video. And he hasn't retired from commercial flying yet, so there may be something more important than the videos from his perspective.😉

      Even more, he is extremely respectful with the victims and the proper course of the investigators. In contrast, a lot of 1d i0t5 on Latin American TH-cam channels are stating that ice was the sole definitive cause of the crash, the plane is cursed, and other non sense.

      @@rhr-p7w It must be a Scandinavian thing being so respectful - I know they have worked together, so I have no problem mentioning Mentour Pilot, whose videos about accidents and incidents in aviation are also always very respectful. In my opinion both him and Magnar are more respectful than a lot of the "documentaries" you see produced for TV.

    Hi Magnar
    Can you explain why the PEC FAILURE memory item is to go around if it fails below 400 ft? I find nothing in the FCOM or ATA nor my company's explanation of the procedures regarding this. Is there something special about 400 ft?

    8:12 BDU-KRS is more than 750nm - and you had several “intermediaries”, blue skies and “fixed” QNH, that’s just impressive in too many ways…! 😃

    Hi Magnar, Why ATR's are designed with a T-Tail configuration. Is it to keep the tailplane out of the effects of downwash from the wing?

    Hi Magnar, could you perhaps explain in a bit more detail how the elevator trim caused ATI Flight 460 to crash?
    Thanks.

    • @FlywithMagnar
      @FlywithMagnar  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The report states pitch trim was activated to nose down position three times. The trim is stronger than any pilot. They could not recover.

      The Voepass ATR 72 preliminary report is out.
      It doesn't look good for the pilots.
      Pretty much what I expected. A sad loss.

    And the passengers in the back have no idea that there is a video recorded in the cockpit to be published on TH-cam. 😂
    Don't get me wrong, this is *not* to say that what you guys are doing is wrong or even unsafe. Autopilot is on, and you're still monitoring what is going on, so it's absolutely fine. After all, it would be foolish to think that pilots don't engage in conversation en route (at least while above 10,000 ft, let's hope they keep the cockpit sterile below that - but with the two of you I am sure you do), and this is basically no different. It's just funny to me that probably nobody back there has any idea what is going on in the front.
