Why did you stop making videos? They are so informative. Especially, this one. I have seen other videos from other "experts" and they don't really give a specific answer, just a "15-steps model". Your suggestion is so powerful 👏
Really using it in my future interviews 🤩🤩

thank you for the wonderful insight.
fun fact, your channel is undervalued, judging by the time when this was uploaded to the number of views it got.
you delivery your message really well. always. i'm sure even if you talk for an hour i won't skip once.

A person’s current salary is a reflection of their years’ experience.
So your salary expectations should be top 25% of the salary band for this role.
To leave the negotiation door open say, “Thank you for asking, I’m currently be considering for marketing manager roles for £65-£70k.”

Does this only apply to experienced personnel or recent college graduates too? I'm a tax accountant with only one year of experience. I get recruiters contacting me everyday with positions. I'm thinking of talking with some of them, but really not sure how valuable I actually am. Seems like tax accountant salaries are all over the place and don't know exactly where I fall other than I'm currently seriously underpaid.

If you use psychology in negotiating your salary, would you be potentially lying about offers? And if so would they question what companies are offering you this?

"Using psychology" is understanding people and using that understanding to your benefit. It's smart. Never, ever lie though in any hiring process, it'll always come back to bite you in the end.

How do you even answer that as a Junior / job beginner? Deloitte offering me a job with 33k salary.
However I feel that's way too little for what I can bring to the company and I was thinking to say that I want 40-45k. I'd argue that I had successful interviews at Deloitte Germany (which is true) where they get paid 45-50k. So why would I work for Deloitte Austria if the pay is that much worse?

Unfortunately pay across regions varies a lot, simply because of market economics. When I moved from small UK city to NYC it almost doubled my salary -- not really to do with how much value I could bring.

@@James.h.whittaker But isn't that offset by the cost of living in NYC and also having to pay for health insurance and all that?

    • @James.h.whittaker

@@keifer7813 partially yeah, but not double.
