Great review, thanks. Learned something new about the Wenger can opener and how it can double up as a sharp claw blade to open parcels/boxes. That's a great additional capability to have. I recently got the Victorinox Evolution S101, and love it. An EBAY purchase as Victorinox doesn't carry it anymore, but I don't know why not, it is an awesome knife. I also value the locking blade which makes a Swiss Army knife so much more robust and safer as a knife. I can use the blade confidently in cutting tasks without worry of it closing on me. I wish Victorinox would offer that in all their 91mm knives. I love the contoured grip, it really does make it more comfortable to hold in the hand. I always liked the simplicity and compactness of the Spartan/Tourist, and now I have it with a locking blade in the S101, and Victorinox maintained the clip point on the small pen blade. Works great as a writing eraser to scrape the mistakes off the page with ease, hence "pen blade" I suppose going all the way back to the original 1897 Officers Knife.
I’ve daily carried my evo grip since 2007 or 2008 when my uncle gifted me one. Mine doesn’t have the locking mechanism for the knife though. None of the tools ever broke and I’ve abused it more than any tool deserves. Wenger made one hell of a knife. Even though it’s in rough shape now, it feels wrong to put new victorinox scales on there. Any tips on getting original scales?
I think we are out of luck on getting new scales for Wenger, since they are out of production. I’d just keep that knife somewhere safe and buy a new knife for EDC. You cannot put Victorinox EVO scales on a Wenger. They are a totally different design. Victorinox brought over their style to the EVO range, where you can see the metal sandwich layers between the tools and the scales. Wenger on the other hand had that part hidden on the inside of the scale. So the scale would be flush with the tools. They are not interchangeable.

Nice pick-up. I agree that the clip blade is pretty cool. Shame I'm not able to buy any new knives or tools at the moment. Thanks for showing it!
