I'm in the middle of putting mine back together. It's a pretty simple job and I got my new carburetor, primer bulb, new hoses, and the green hose that is two into one, a spark plug, several port cleaning brushes, and gaskets for the same amount you paid through amazon. Great deal and looks like quality parts. It pays to do a little researching. Good video. Thank you.
Nice video. I repaired my blower backwards by replacing the coil then carb. Both aftermarket kits totaled $38.00. If I can get a few more years out of it then it’s money well spent. If not I always need new items for target practice :)
I put a new carburetor on and can’t find the start spot for the H and L screws . How many turns out for ea. screw? I’ve tried 2,3,4 turns and can’t get a idle point
Gotta love aftermarket carbs l have a BG 55 haven't done nothing to it for fifteen years fired right off this year if I have carburetor problems I'll do what you did ty for the vid
I' m interested in aftermarket ignition coils compared to OEM maybe you could do one in the future possibly on a stihl .I've heard good and bad.who knows?
they slide over the posts that hold the carb. One goes on before the carb and one goes on after. Then the choke/airfilter assemby goes on. Finally, two nuts on the posts keep it all in place.
great video! I just purchased one of these and its really old and dirty so I will be replacing the carb on it. Any suggestions on how to clean all the gunk buildup around the carb? looks like grease.
The cheap amazon one I bought probably isn't the best for the money. But it worked for me. But gave the blower to a friend about a year ago. I think it still runs though.
Constructive criticism , move your hand so we can see what your doing, also go step by step disassembly and reassembly. Did not see anything about gaskets
I just finished swapping the carbs fuel filter air filter plug and cleaned the spark arrestor. I had to adjust mine from the increments on the top of the air filter cover. The old blower runs like new:)

Always check the spark arrestor too......

Mike- Excellent tutorial. I'm getting ready to take mine apart tomorrow morning and wanted to see what to expect. I got more than I needed. Thank you!
Thanks, he gave me some confidence to do the same thing
At 6:40, what sort of valve is it? A Vat Valve? Can you say more?
Doing the same thing have 2 of them love them Bg55. Found the same kit on Ebay for 13
Thanks for the vote of confidence good video

Congratulations you might also think about cleaning the spark arrestor on the front right by the exhaust

Do you have a link for the carb replacement for Amazon or eBay please. Big up from Scotland 👍
It’s now 35 dollars for the same thing now
What size spark plug socket I need to know so i can change mines to.....👍👌
That fuel tank has a check valve vent just under the carb. If it’s stopped up it won’t run right 😊

Where did you install the two gaskets? Your camera angle doesn't show much.

mawilhelm601 does the side that has writing going down or up. That would have been helpful
Nice tats mate
Almost 3 years.. How's carburetor lasting?
It's still working. I moved to Tennessee 2 years ago and gave it to a friend. He still uses it.
nice view of the back of your arm. not much else.
I agree. Camera angles are pretty worthless.
Were/whom did you order your STIHL BG55 carb kit from, thanks
Nyrie Mims just from amazon. I dont remember the vendor

Brake cleaner. Or some carb cleaner
Finished changing the carburetor. Now the blower wont start. 2hrs spent with adjustments, no luck....
I Ordered a kit for the same blower and it came with new air filter
If you were to buy a new carb for a bg 55, what would be the best one money can buy? Are the ones on Amazon for $15 any good?

On my new carb it didnt come with the same attachment to hook up throttle line did you have to remove any old parts from your old carb
No I didn't have to.
@@ThatGuyMike well damn.
Thanks for the vlog.. I have the exact carb that I'm about to put on my BG55 . Did you have to adjust the new carb?? Thanks!
Hi, No I didn't have to adjust it. It ran fine after I changed it. Thanks for the view!

since you skipped showing the initial start, turn it off and restart.
Post the link from amazon.
it won't start with the bulb full of gas...so he pumps it more to flood it more....
You can pump that bulb all day and it won't flood it.
Lose the music
I can't see through your hand
really hard to see what you are doing.
