  • Figured this would be a good opportunity to compare 3D Ceramic Coating to another competitor. Someone asked if this coating is any good in terms of hydrophobic behavior. I demonstrate the application and the hydrophobic behavior of the coating.

    I first purchased 3D Ceramic Coating in 2020 for $48 for 30 ml. The price is now $90 for 30 ml which is a high cost per ml. I was not overly impressed with it when I used it as a wheel coating as I found it to not be as hydrophobic and not having a good self cleaning effect as my wheels looked more dirty with this coating than any other coating. This may be a good option for someone who likes more of a sheeting style coating for water spots. It also did not fair well on my 2021 coating as it was one of the coatings that showed sighs of struggle compared to the others.
    Has anyone used this coating before? Would any of you use it?

      @@ob1kdanny87 appreciate your feedback. I wasn’t impressed with it on my wheels. I had to constantly top it.

      It takes 2 coats to get very slick. We tested coating over 2 year period. It holds up very good compared to other coatings.

    Thanks for the comparison, Mike. I agree with your thoughts. I haven’t used as many coatings as you, but from the ones I have, UK 3.0 has been the best performer.

    I currently have 2 Coats of CQuartzUK3.0 and 1 Coat of SIC on the GS400. My maintenance is Washing with Reset Shampoo and topping with EliXir. Coatings are holding up quite well. Thanks for the comparison between the two. I agree with what you're seeing.

    Mike, thanks for your video. I like to use products made in the USA, so I have never used the UK coating. I have used Pro Wax Ceramic Coating (came in a glove box subscription) and Adams Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating. I applied both last Oct ('21) and still are impressive!

    • @miscellaneous5215
      @miscellaneous5215 ปีที่แล้ว

      I too have found myself trying to buy more made in USA products. Among the coating options we have Feynlab, Opti Coat, System X, Duraslic, and 3D, all of which make their products in-house here in the states.

      UK would be a great coating for you to try one day. You also have Jade which is the house brand of B&B which makes the adams coatings. P&S is also made in the USA.

    I’ve always wanted to try the 3D. Now that it’s been out for a while it just doesn’t look super impressive, just like the ceramic touch spray. But hey, all of their other stuff is terrific. I love the orange degreaser like you, it does clean well, low residue and doesn’t impact protection very much. Question, have you ever tried their final touch detailed? Stuff is insanely slick, doesn’t last more than a week or so but it’s a terrific topper/major gloss booster.

    Hey mike. Love the coating reviews. Since you have bajillion experience with coatings new and old, if both same price, which coating would you prefer - MOHS Evo or Cquartz UK 3.0? Tempted to try MOHS evo but not sure how it is compared to UK

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both are good options. CQUK 3.0 is always my go to recommendation because of how well it performs and its ease of use. Gyeon got it right with Mohs Evo and it has performed quite well in the year I have tested it. It does flash faster than CQUK 3.0 but it is slicker than CQUK 3.0.
      If you are tempted I would say give it a try. If you don't like it you can come back to CQUK.
      One thing to note is Mohs Evo was aimed to compete with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and Pure Evo with CQUK 3.0.

    I wonder if they quietly tweaked it. I bought two bottles early on. Neither had beads like in your video. I used one on a Tesla and the 2nd bottle as a tester. And gave it away! Just didn't do it for me.

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe they did. I bought this on 9/26/20. It did not bead like this on my wheels. But it looks decent. It’s too expensive now. I paid under $50 for it.
