Need to take some genetic diversity into the group. Raise some kids with Navajo culture..who have been abandoned elsewhere..or something. Most native tribes use to fight other tribes and steal women etc. Kept genetic diversity up. Have had like over 200 years of stagnation.
We are seeing genetic disorders on the rise in the amish community as well

So you have a child that dies from this condition, your doctor tells you that any future children you may have will almost certainly end up with the same condition bc it's genetic; so instead of heeding the advice of trained genetic specialists you go ahead and bring another child into the world knowing it would suffer greatly and in all likelihood wouldn't survive their childhood because....? Not to be ugly but I can never understand people who do this kind of thing knowing exactly what it will mean for their own children. To me it just seems so cruel and ignorant

rae L. You should know that my school friend loved his brother and sister dearly and went into a deep depression when he lost them to XP. These are his parents and his siblings. It was tough for them and for us as a Native community because it was rare and debilitating.

rae L. The two sick kids with XP have a normal older brother. The parents loved them and cared for them while they were alive. They didn’t go into some institutional facility and get abused.

I agree to a certain extent. But also I believe that those parents wanted children. And that’s something that I really understand taking the risk for and having faith in a miracle that maybe my baby won’t get the disorder. You never know and doctors definitely do not know everything. I would have taken the risk also.

They're Navajo, nobody said they were intelligent. I find most of them to be dull at best. Trust me, we can tell that they're so inbred that this kind of thing happens. I notice that they can barely form a fucking sentence in either language.

I'm sorry I feel no sympathy for them knowing what they were doing before they decided to do it anyway

Same. I have absolutely none. If they choose to be this stupid, let them handle the consequences themselves. Thank goodness I come from a well educated Eastern nation. We figured this out ages ago, before the Spaniards showed up.
