Impressed with the side impact resistance. First center airbag I've seen, wild.
yes, avoid collision between two passengers..............As Chinese, very astonishing......
did Chinese steal american uninvented technology???
@@michael2345ism I'm not saying the idea was stolen by Chinese, nor that it was 'invented' by Americans as that's not how the world works now. It could have first been prototyped in Poland by an Australian man for a Spanish university for all we know.
However, I believe General Motors was the first to introduce center airbag in 2013 for the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse.
Not everything is China v America my friend.
@@jay-uo2bi thanks for your info.
the world knows that we are being bullied by American. No matter who invented this, only any manufacturer pay related patent fee for using it. That's not a Crime.
I just want to let the world knows, we are not anyone enemy, we build for human future.
@Yang Ji lol, i watched a lot of these crash dummy clips never saw one between ppl yet. Its clever, was a complement to the makers..
Ppl tend to not wear seat belts in China was probably why it’s there lol
That center airbag for side impact is AMAZING!
You mean this ?
3:05
Yeah
@@SimonStuff2000 it only needs a extra pillow for the passenger
I’m pretty sure the GMC Acadia or Chevy Traverse has a center airbag.

The quality and technology for Chinese car have been significantly improved since year 2016, and they have got solid advantage in EV field.
Spot on.
I worked in China factoty before. They make the prototype very good for demo purpose but not the stock for sale.
cheap sh..t
ora good cat can t go up hill
when error can t brake at all
@@solarzoro write something in “China” language idiot. To prove that you worked at what you call a “China factory”.
Yes, the car usually broke down on assembly line now they made it to the showroom and that’s how far they can go.
I can only imagine Chinese firms will continue to improve, surpass and innovate further. This will give car makers around the world pressure to improve themselves bringing us better cars. Looking forward to the future!
Nothing related to China is capable of innovating... Only stealing...
The name cracks me up! The styling makes me smile. Smashing it makes me sad but safe.
Fun Fac... it`s designed by an ex Porsche designer.....
@@kylereese4822 That's why not just the name is funny, it put smile on my face how it looked like Porsche mixed with Fiat, I'm sure Porsche will not send me free car for that statement 😂
Amazing how far cars have come. Even more amazing for this brand. Just 10 years before, they were still making the cheapest cars possible.
Now they haven't switched to charging exorbitant prices. They're just great value.

that's if Brandon hasn't banned it already
they won't be safe against all the larger cars in the US
Don’t count on it. They are banned for ever
Jeremy Clarkson might have been off by a few years, but he was right in stating that Chinese auto manufacturers would soon catch up with the rest of the world.
Great wall motors showing how much more tech they're able to pack on their new ora cars. Amazing how well they respond to those crash tests.
Super impressive. Especialy how strong is side structure and how well central airbag works.
Its huge step form 2010 china cars.
It's closer to the original mini than the current mini by BMW
Sadly true
When you see it, it's pretty big. I was hoping it would be sub-Mini sized, but it's at least as big, if not bigger. Felt very well made and incredibly precise panel gaps etc. The way Chineese cars have progressed in last 15 years is jaw-dropping.
Exatamente
That's very impressive, especially the center airbags. I've never seen those before. All cars should have those.
A lot of the emergency braking/ped avoidance tests are just as good or better than most of the major brands. Side impact with the center airbag looked really good. Chinese cars have come such a long way!
Five star rating not bad. Better than many German cars.
Not really. Snd the german cars hold up, with the chinese the demo cars to test might be quite different to the cars people can buy. It wouldn’t be the first time. If It would be my family in the car, I’d get a German one….
@@erebostd that against the law and you know it. Volkswagen execs went to jail for that already. You are just some kind of supremacist.
nope
@@erebostd Those are quite old assumptions on chinese cars, it reminds me of what happened in the 80's with Japanese cars (and then after with Korean cars), first people and US manufacturers were mocking them and called them trash..... and finaly they demonstrated being able to do better than western manufacturers and now Japanese cars are appreciated for being generaly quite reliable and good cars. Things are changing fast, don't stay blocked on past assumptions, if chinese manufacturers can master the best of all your electronic goods, why can't they also master making cars now that they have litteraly everything to succeed in that way (great designers, great engineers, high end manufacturing, good marketing, etc...) and they are also litteraly leading in EV technology with companies such as BYD or CATL and their own battery technology who makes western manufacturers envious..... btw your next german EV will most likely have chinese batteries in it (CATL is building a 7 billions dollars giga factory in Hungary to supply german manufacturers with their chinese batteries)... 😊
@@erebostd this is a common practice by VW. They sell cars in China with a weakened chassis, they look exactly the same but in a crash they just collapse. Just search for " crash test comparison US Passat China Passat"
I’m sold on funky cat alone
The Chinese I think, will take early control of the EV market. I have a Mk2 MG ZS EV and it is brilliant. I would like to buy the ORA, but the UK prices look like they are going to be rather higher than expected, which is a shame and will affect sales. The MG4 once supply issues are resolved will be a game changer I think.
China built ev car with cheaper price compare with the western with good safety and stylish design.
@@ThePembetulan stylish design? Nah they look like toys

@@ThePembetulan nah. This looks like a smart mixed with a mini mixed with an opel mixed with a soap bar
@@MaticTheProto Chinese have their own taste of design, like Japanese cars have.
But even some European cars are now designed for Chinese taste, since the Chinese market is the main market for cars like the S class now
GWM is "only" the number 8 carmaker in China and they're capable of this.
Meanwhile, makes like Renault and Citroen once lionized for their safety scores can no longer score a full 5 stars across their entire model range.
great safety record and well made, but the price in Europe seems too high
They should buy a factory in euro
Impressed considering that this is a small car. Well done.
Frowny face driver's airbag deployment at 1:36 = it's even cute during a crash.
bruh
Why should it even be a question now? There are plenty of European and American cars the don’t score highly in NCAP tests. China got the message, sorted its problems out immediately and then set about making fools of their critics. Legacy makers have a lot to learn from them, I’m sad to say. Quality check a VW, look at their crash tests, especially the Golf. That car’s side door came open in the side impact tests.

Lol are you sure? Check again
ORA is never going to end here❤
They are creating cute cars😆😍❤
And the car is good
The Safety and Quality are both very impressive.
The quality of Chinese cars is largely due to the fierce market competition in China. No other country has as many local automakers as China. Chery, BYD, Great Wall, Haval, Geely, Changan, Shanghai Auto, Beijing Auto, Southern Auto, Haima, exxed, Wei, Tank, etc. There are too many.
In the past few years, there were joint venture cars, but because of the large competitive advantages, you can make money casually. For example, the best-selling Japanese and German cars will reduce costs and quality in China. This just gave Chinese car companies a chance to catch up.
@@rw3915 You just say what you want to say and don't just know the real facts.
Volvo's situation at that time has been searched all over the world, and no car company in the world wants to acquire it. Geely not only helps Volvo to optimize costs by relying on its own supply chain, but also saves the car company and makes it successful and profitable. Conspiracy forced.
Of course, any corporate acquisition has plans. Shouldn't it be important to value his technology? Shouldn't there be a bunch of rubbish? And Volvo's independence has not been interfered with, management has always been independent.
Any country has its own industry, and any country that joins the wto will be taken care of. You see China today, do you know how backward China was in 2003? Two important clauses of China's entry into the wto are to protect its own automobile and agricultural industries by 2018. China is a developing country, and of course it does not want its own industries to be destroyed. This is the case with any country. Is it the West? ? China is just trying to develop itself, his right or wrong is only in your jealousy. After all, so many countries in the world have the conditions to develop themselves. If you put yourself at war and don't develop people's livelihood, who can you blame?
By the way, Tesla is wholly owned in China, and Volvo has already bought back 100% of itself, but he is still reluctant to give up its global supply chain advantage with Geely. BMW and Mercedes-Benz have also each announced plans for full ownership.
@@rw3915 BMW Mini plans to move production from the UK to China, and an additional 10 billion euros of investment is also completely independent. This 10 billion euros may have more than 90% financing from China, and there are preferential land and tax policies. It is also fully sole proprietorship.
If you understand the process of Tesla's construction in Shanghai, you will know that the Chinese government's openness and preferential policies are unique in the world. On the contrary, there are various barriers for China to invest in Europe and India. This is the result of the loss of your own industry and the lack of development.
@@rw3915 What's wrong with Chinese companies paying for IP. Also I think you would find that 'safety know how' is more universal than you think and that Chinese manufactures do actually do their own R&D just like any western car manufacturer. To say that Chinese manufacturers or the Chinese government steals or buys all the IP and hands it to manufacturers is bull coming out your behind. Why would Chinese companies not be capable of research and development? Are you not aware of how the many universities and institutions in China? There is so much medical and data research in China.
To me it seems you are just discretely making stereotypical assumptions of 'oh chinese just copy/steal everything therefor chinese car manufacturers must just buy/steal western IP or get given it from the chinese government'.
It sounds like, say, Tesla (a new, almost start-up company) obviously did all their own safety design and research but any Chinese company must have gotten given the IP from the Chinese government (taken from joint venture ships?). This is a prejudiced assumption, not a conclusion built on facts (unless you have any sources you would like to share?).
Unless you evidence of other wise there is no reason not to believe Chinese automakers do their own research and development to meet modern safety standards just like most other automakers.
China still makes junk cars. They will fall apart after a few years. They are safe, because the have to meet certain safety standards to sell in other countries. Chinese vehicles are just copies of other Asian and European brands.
@@IamCooper-rk5bn as you happy
The Chinese are not underdogs anymore they have studied and earned knowledge from working for u Building for you and learning from u chances are they will be better since we no longer value stem classes and we are in the everyone gets a trophy stage and they are still ambitious
Los chinos aprendieron la lección, ahora sus autos eléctricos además de buena tecnología y baterías, son muy seguros, quién lo iba a pensar 10 años atrás.
