    The uniforms at the beginning are NCR Rangers uniform (from Fallout New Vegas, basically NCR special forces) the violin music is from Fallout 4 minutemen radio and after about 10 minutes of that it drives you crazy. This is why all the people trying to stop the transmission is hilarious to Fallout Veterans.

      Seriously, keeping the Minutemen radio tuned in just to hear about missions, but hearing these few songs over and over and over made me turn off that radio station. It's so funny that they chose to use that music to trigger the Fallout 4 players, and it worked. I'd probably be one of those people caught in a trap, just trying to get to the guy and make him stop playing that music. :D

    This episode had such a meta moment... At the radio station, you had DJ Carl (Fred Armisen) and Thaddeus (Johnny Pemberton) reflecting on how people don't like classical music, especially original presses. The music is from the game, the same music that people complained to the developers. This discussion is being portrayed by actors who, in previous roles, have played "musicians" who have performed poorly (for comedic effect in both instances) and were criticized in their shows! (As you mentioned, Pemberton as Bo in Superstore, and Armisen in Portlandia.) The conversation could very well have just been the actors talking before the "action" took place!! Very fun!

    My favorite thing about this episode is that we find out the elixir salesman wasn’t 100% full of shit.
    In episode one he calls after Lucy and the scientist promising elixirs that heal feet or even grow completely new feet.

    The opening scene is a DEEP CUT "easter egg".
    The older fella is played by Erik Estrada. He was one of the leads in a wildly popular show from the late 70s and early 80s, called "CHIPS". He played a CHP (California Highway Patrol) Motorcycle Cop.
    Now, in THIS show, he's wearing an "NCR Ranger" uniform. And in the Fallout world, NCR Rangers are the closest thing there is to CHP. Hell, even the color-scheme of the uniforms match. It's brilliant.

    My love for this series is that the people who shot it, clearly, has a love for the legacy of the lore and content of the games. They don't try to recreate the original. Non-spoiler, but based on gameplay, I don’t think Thad is a ghoul. The inhaler he used is used for a lot of different meds. (We saw a raider use an inhaler in ep 1, likely using jet or another combat-enhancing med)
    Thad may have taken the healing mutation, as seen in fallout 76. It constantly heals you at a moderate rate. Chicken-lover might have mixed in something to resist radiation… the healing mutation does not address radiation, just injuries. I’m looking forward to maybe finding out more about Thad’s condition, and if it keeps accurate to the games. The show invented the inhaler that keeps ghouls from going feral.. in the games, going feral has unclear causes… human/mutant/feral/dead seems to rely on total radiation exposure, speed and strength of exposure, and time.

A LOT of FEV (they literally "dip" prisoners in huge vats of full of FEV suspension to make their Super Mutant Army) will turn you into a super mutant. The verdict is still pending on Thaddeus. My money is on super mutant, mostly because we've only been hinted at a single one in the show yet (on a stretcher cart in the Enclave base in Ep. 2, all you see is a huge body under a shroud and a green hand protruding from under it)

    I love that they're setting up a redemption arc for the Ghoul but they aren't rushing it. Too many shows and movies, knowing a villain is going to be a fan favorite character, are in too big of a hurry to rehabilitate them into someone the fans can root for. The very first time the hero shows good will to the villain, he magically becomes a good guy from then on. But the Ghoul, as we see at the start of this episode, despite having some redeeming qualities is still very much a bad guy, and will likely still be a source of conflict for Lucy well into season 2.

    5:10 This is kinda the context clue, since it is more show don't tell. But yes, basically the majority of vaults in Fallout are actually social experiments. 6:00 In Thaddeus's defence, he has a mission of supposed vital importance to get the head back to the Brotherhood. But his foot has been severely smooshed, the 404 (the dog) is not only slowing him down but also drawing unwanted attention by constantly yanking at the bag (with the head), and that's before 404 tried nibbling on Thaddeus's aforementioned smooshed foot. 😂😂

      Its a good misdirection, because none of the characters know about FEV. Here's my reasoning: the guy claimed to be a scientist, he immediately recognized the fusion core, and he didn't mix the stuff he put in the inhaler...it was already in a bottle in his case. The biggest ones though are the most simple--ghouls aren't made by taking anything, and most importantly, they don't regenerate. Super mutants do. If ghouls regenerated, there wouldn't have been a need to sew on Lucy's finger, and a single pistol shot wouldn't kill a feral at the Super Duper Mart. Plus Thaddeus will make a hilarious super mutant!

There's more places he could have shot and missed than there is places in space that they physically occupied. Therefore "statistically" he was more likely to miss since he wasn't aiming.

      Not sure why you'd think those two things are mutually exclusive.

    • @jobanh7ify
      @jobanh7ify 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ it’s not a thought about me thinking one way of the other, but commentary. If you know the character you’ll know that he is a father, and despite all the things we saw him do throughout the series, he as a father would not go as far as eating someone’s daughter, cuz he himself has one. At least that’s how I view the character, the first time I saw that scene, the thought of him eating that girl never crossed my mind. How did you interpreted the whole thing?

    • @davebcf1231
      @davebcf1231 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ The reason people think he ate the girl is because they already established that he eats people sometimes. That's why the scene works and the majority of the audience thinks what Erik Estrada's character thinks. He then murders the girl's brother in front of her and her father after already killing her other brother. You have absolutely no idea if he would go so far as to eat someone's daughter. Estrada's character clearly knows him and he thinks he's capable of it. Very strange and narrow definition of what makes someone a monster you've got there.

    • @jobanh7ify
      @jobanh7ify 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@davebcf1231 like I said, I’m not thinking one way or the other, and not defining anything either so don’t assume things if you don’t get the point of what I said. In movies and shows there’s something called “show don’t tell”, if he’s capable of doing what you said, why he didn’t ate the kid then? Yes, it’s established he has the cannibal perk, but I wouldn’t assume he would eat a kid just because of it. And yes, he did shoot the other son, but it was in self defense and as our hostess later pointed out, he showed remorse, which also tells me he wouldn’t eat someone’s daughter. If you think he could do that and not being able to draw a line somewhere, well that says a lot about you, enjoy your day

    • @davebcf1231
      @davebcf1231 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Your comment makes no sense whatsoever. Just because someone is capable of doing something that doesn't mean they always do that thing. By your logic why doesn't he shoot everyone he comes across? We know he's capable of it. We've seen him do it. You keep saying you're not thinking one way or the other while arguing one way, which is also nonsensical. You claimed he's not a monster because he's a father. I pointed out the two aren't mutually exclusive. What part of that is confusing to you?
