❤ Beautiful garden God bless. I use to live in Apopka but my HOA didn't let me grow anything. Now I live in Broward and I have 3 coconut Palm trees, 4 avocado, bananas, 3 mango trees, and everything else under the sun. I love my jungle. My brother still lives in Orlando and he has mango, avocado, banana and tamarind tree.
I live in Polk County Florida. I have 2 mango trees, 2 avocado, 2 Star Fruit, papayas, several bananas, ginep ( mammicillo, quenepa, Spanish lime) pineapples, morninga tree, longevity spinach, mulberry, Loquat,so far the cold hasn’t hurt any of my trees. Looking to add to the food forest
Awesome. Hopefully you will get to keep all of it. My mom had an avocado and a mango tree that died after 3 to 4 years when we had a bad winter in Orlando about 20 years ago.
First time seeing your channel and love this type of content. I just planted some fruit trees, I had to start over as I sold my house and purchased a new one. I planted Ackee, mangoes, Moringa, Loquat, Leeche, sour sop, sugar apples, Bananas, plantain, Cassava, Tamarind, papaya, ginger, Leaf of life, Guniea hen, mint, peach, pineapple, pumpkin and sweet potatoes from the islands, fever grass and different herbs. Some I had in pots from my old house. I live in Central Florida also in Tavares.
Those twisted knotted roots are root knot nematodes. Affects peppers, okra, tomatoes etc. plant marigolds around the plants. In the planting hole put crab meal before planting, best to get rid of the peppers and try planting in a new area with marigolds and crab meal. Or plant in a pot using fresh bought soil.
Susumber is also known in North America and West Africa as "turkey berry." Very high in iron. boil until soft then fry it up with callalloo, salt fish, ackee and salt fish, cook down with stewed fish, stewed chicken, stewed beef, etc.
Bless up! Nice garden. Apple tree looks good. You have better luck there than us in Lake Wales. But we are still hopeful lol. It is by far my fav fruit!
The long beans he describe could very well be cow peas (Chinese name) or bora (Guyanese call them). We cut them up and fry/cook it with meat. We then eat it with roti or on white rice.
Had a mulberry had to cut it down was way to big and roots were cracking house foundation. Someone planted it years ago about 12 ft from the house. Still got berries in the fridge. Tropical stuff don’t work up here in mass. Cranberries work good though if you wanna put a bog in. Lotta work.
Maybe you can tell him about this comment or send it to him but he should label his trees so that if anything happened to him his family can know how to take care of the trees after doing research to keep his Garden Legacy going I'm feeding his family❤❤❤
@@paulg3012 I understand Rastafarian lingo but the audience is international and if they go to search for the tree or fruit by that name no one will know what they are talking about. Also, if they search for that name on the internet they will not find it.

Are those that are not bearing close to street lights? I found out years ago, light at nights affects them. Coconut tree takes 5 years to produce coconut.
Man we're down here in south Florida with great weather. We also grow island fruits but we don't have the space like central Florida. I'm actively looking for a nice diverse neighborhood in central Florida to move to. Watching your video made me research Apopka Florida. Can you give the name of your city? Please?
Wow I wish I could learn how to craft I really need to graft a tree we have that’s over 25 years old to seedlings I have. We can’t afford to live in are home anymore the taxes and insurance are to expensive and I can’t take the trees with me. I have a nice food forest and vegetable garden are around my yard and can dig up everything but the mango trees. If you know of anyone that know how to graft please send me there number. Are tree has one of the biggest mangos on are island and are a family treat along with all my neighbors because it’s so big we get over 600 a year to give away along with another big tree in are back yard. If you know anyone in the Tampa Bay Area I live in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida send them my way please 🙏. Instant message if you can.

The seedling mangos are inspiring.
I am surprised because I lived in Orlando in the 80ties and they said mangoes could not grow because of the cold there was no mangoe tree

Very interesting and informative video. In Jamaica king of the forest is used for high blood pressure - use it to make a tea.

Thank you 😋
My uncle has a ackee tree in fort lauderdale since the 80s. Massive ackee and mango tree.
The long beans he describe could very well be cow peas (Chinese name) or bora (Guyanese call them). We cut them up and fry/cook it with meat. We then eat it with roti or on white rice.
Goals!! 🔥
That Ethiopian Apple is similar to the Malay Apple or Macopa in the Philippines.
It is actually called. Otaheite apple. Other names are Malay apple, mountain apple, pink satin-ash, plumrose and pommerac.

Yes. I’ll work on that this winter
Nice to see the Ithiopian apple, I think it will bear here in Bermuda since rose apple does well here. Beautiful vineyard bredrin.
The correct name is Otaheiti apple or Malay apple.

@@HolisticHealthHub-hi4xl Point taken but the Ras giving the tour referred to it as Ethiopian so I'm just backing him up.
Almost anything can grow in Apopka. I can tell you. My mom used to work me in that yard.
Wow how does he keep the squirrels away? Im battling them for mangoes 😂
It’s a battle
😍
When the tmp dip to potential freezing try the small Christmas tree lights
For me I have too many trees too far from the house for that to be practical.

Thanks for sharing! I love this especially to see the Otaheite apple tree flowering. How old is this video because of the Mangoes flowering?
It’s a about 3 mos old
Where in Central FL are you and what’s your grow zone?
@@andrebaptiste thank you so much!
Maybe in invite him❤😊 to your home so he can help you move some plants around to replant or just to give you some suggestions

I am a Jamaican in Ocala and want some calaloo seeds. Where can I find them to buy? Thank you. BTW. Beautiful tour.
I have the red callaloo. If you’re ever in Orlando come by and I’ll give you some
@@andrebaptiste thank you.
You can order online from Baker's Creek Heirloom seeds for about $3. They call it Amaranth and there are red and green varieties.
Lovely . Something I would like to have. How much are those houses ?
Probably 5-700k

I’m in Gotha. He was in apopka
Any chance of me getting some black mangoes, turpentine and ackee in the pods for purchase? I had all those and a lot of other fruit trees in Jamaica.
I have turpentine and a small ackee tree. But not blackies
@@andrebaptiste if you would like to sell me some. Please provide an email contact. Thank you :)
Otahithe apples are so juicy and delicious. Not sure if he said otahithe or Ethiopian apple.
Otahithe
And coconut. I forgot. Lol
I think the reason you think the loquat fruit taste different one sweet and the other tart is because one is a loquat and the other a kumquat
No kumquats are citrus and completely different fruits not even in the same family.
Does he protect the coconut tree? I'm in apopka as well. Is his Olive bearing?
Yes he protects it. Not sure if he’s gotten olives yet
@@andrebaptiste thanks for your reply.
