      Firedogs wasn't even meant to be a wide release, and was intended to be exclusive to the rental market. I give that one at least credit for being an Arcade style game. Other than that, Veediots was meh, Buckaroos was pure generic garbage, and there was NO excuse for Time Warp to be a frustrating nightmare that insults you if you actually muster the patience of a freaking saint to beat it. And that one especially sucks because they almost had a good game. At best, it's a good troll.

    • @mightyfilm
      @mightyfilm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Dekomata Not really that weird, considering how popular the show was at the time and how some company leapt on the license and cranked games out as fast as the show remained relevant. If THQ, which was considered a joke of a company at the time, paid attention to one good game, we could have had something.

    My favorite part of SNES drunk's whole spiel is diving down a TH-cam rabbit hole and watching some old and somewhat obscure videos -- just to find him leaving a thoughtful comment on that totally-unrelated video.

    As a Genesis kid growing up, I rented this game and I definitely enjoyed it. It wasn't super polished but it was definitely represented the art style of the cartoon well and had some fun mechanics to it. Oddly enough I've never revisited it because I suppose I kinda figured my memory of it was all rose-tinted glasses, but your review makes me want to give it another try. Also I had no idea the SNES games made this one look like a gem. Thanks!

    One thing about the moves: they look different for each character but do the same thing i.e. both characters have a long jump, hi jump, vertical attack, long range attack (though I disliked that Stimpy had to wait after using his while Ren could keep firing), a dig move and something else that eludes.

Plenty of SNES games have a darker palette- when you have a large palette to work with it is an artistic choice whether to make your game cartoonish or not, not a given. I still remember the guy with a mohawk in Crash N Burn saying "Nice Day For A Thrashin', Aye?". Samurai Shodown was a good port as well and as cheesy as it is, my friends and I had a blast with Way Of The Warrior. Slayer was another favorite of mine, and I thought the random levels were really cool as a gimmick, plus I loved the cover art. Road Rash is my favorite and I still play it on my PS1 to this day. there were some really good demo discs, too. The one I owned had a 2 Stupid Dogs episode on it for some reason, maybe to show off the mutli media potential?
      Weirdly enough I had a TG-16 too. But Ive taken up enough of your time...ok, 1 more thing, Dungeon Explorer has one of the most underrated soundtracks ever. Loved that game.

    I love those SNES games. They don't suck they probably don't age that well, but they do in my opinion.

    I had this game as a kid, but I only made it as far as the freezer level, if not the level after it. I should really revisit it.

    whoa, i was immediately hit by that classic Genesis dithering! Even with the dithering the graphics looks pretty good to me and I like the parallax scrolling :)

      I found space cadet adventure very difficult.
      I had it for years and could never beat it.
      I have no idea where it is now I haven't seen it in probably two decades.

    Because this game was released by Sega while the SNES games were released by THQ, I think it's obvious which one was actually worth playing. ;)
