First and foremost, I apologize as I thought I signed up as soon as you started doing TH-cam but it did not take. I appreciate you sharing this video. That trailer is a beast. My truck couldn't pull it right now but it is a goal to work towards as it would make all the jobs that I desire to do in the near future doable. Again, thank you for sharing.
hello John, thank you for tuning in. It is certainly a beast of a trailer. Curb weight as you see it without the DS1000 on the back is around 5500lbs.

That's a really nice trailer setup. I'd love to see some using it for a leaf cleanup setup. That's for sure what I would use it for, I don't do enough mulch jobs yet

@@BladeMateLawnCare we all start somewhere. I sure did. An old push mower, a 42" craftsman lawn tractor and a hand held blower. I didn't even have a trimmer when I first started! haha...Keep setting attainable goals and before ya know it you'll be there!

I could definitely see myself upgrading in a year or so with this trailer without the mulch mate. I just bought a kartmate this fall so I’ll see how Spring Mulching goes first.

@@megzbe06well worth it. I even bought the smaller one last year. Small one was nice for me just to go out and do small jobs by myself. My Guys love the big one

On average. How much does the trailer weight like between 3k-4K lbs or between 4K-5k empty

I find this funny as, this is just a bigger version of the trailers just about everyone in aus and nz run, but in ayaingthat we remove a lot of greenwsste and grass clippings compared to you guys in the states
What kind of trailers are you running in Aus and NZ?
@@mithgo_outdoor most people have front mower decks and box on the back, weather or not the back is a dump is a different story, but the general lay out is the same as this mulch mate one but in say a 10x5ft sized trailer, also for context, we run mainly larger push mowers or walkers, standers and bigger deck mowers (52inch or bigger) don't get seen so much here due to our section sizes. Its also a total mixed bag of home made verse custom built trailers we don't really (in nz at least) have a solid trailer brand that does lawn care trailers
@@alastairduncan1944 i think it's cool how different guys across the planet handle business. There are many trailer companies here that make the hybrid dump trailer w/ equipment platforms like this DMT, however this is the first once that has been outfitted from factory ready to accept the Mulch Mate DS1000. It's a really cool setup to see in person and has so many different uses.
Nice looking trailer so can haul a mower and mulch all at one time so it's a time saving set up

Platform ramp will have to be able to handle weight of a mower and bagging system and then the platform would have to be big enough to hold mower and bagger not just a leaf plow. Just my opinion.
Yes you’re correct, if you watched the video in it’s entirety Nick Carlson says exactly that. The ramp will have to be tested and upgraded. This trailer was merely a prototype.

@@MinnesotaLawnandLandscape The platform is customizable to any size the buyer wants. You could spec it to be bigger to accommodate a mower with bagger...boom, problem solved! There's literally endless possibilities.
@@mithgo_outdoor I like the other features and the cap he mentioned. Problem is if platform is only 7 or 8 feet wide like the trailer. He said can make dump smaller but nobody will be able to drive mower up and actually turn around with bagger on. I know because I have actually had one very similar to this setup from D&K trailers. Just pointing out observation. Everything else is cool on it. Just my opinion
I think a combination trailer like that would be sweat, but i do not think the mulch mate is worth what they want at all imo
It is most certainly a sweet combo! For you to understand the worth of the MulchMate you would have to have the amount of work it's designed to handle. It was not manufactured for the 1 man crew that does a couple material install jobs a year. It was designed for companies that run 100's of yards of mulch (& more) a year. To those companies, the price of the MulchMate is a drop in the bucket and can be EASILY paid for in less than one season. It's all relative in the amount of work a contractor does.
Looks like a decent set up, minus the thickness of the steel. I'd rather see a 7 gauge floor and 7 or 10 gauge walls. The cap is a great idea, like the Spencer's had installed on theirs
I'm sure the could build any spec you want. My 14' Midsota Versadump has a 5 gauge floor and 8 gauge walls. It's stout.
@@mithgo_outdoor I'm certain they could. I've seen one midsota trailer here in Florida and it looked like a tank but I never works have guessed 5 and 8. That's awesome. No wonder it was priced that way
@@Hillsidelanscapemanagement yep, mine was not cheap but it is built to last. I made sure to do my homework before purchasing and it stood out the most from other trailers that dealers offered around where I live. The one piece 5 gauge floor was a huge selling point. I've hauled riprap stone in it and it didn't even make a dent.
@@mithgo_outdoor nice. Sadly, here in Tampa, it's hard to get the better built trailers because it is so costly to ship them here.

Could you get a smaller dump part in a bigger platform please comment back on this same size trailer please comment back I have a 36" machine and a 48" machine I like to take both of them with me in case one breaks I still have the other but I would like a dump trailer please comment back thank you very much

Axle placement is to far back. Did you see it squat that 450? Great idea otherwise. Roll on dude.
