    I’m actually in the process of building a high rpm LS using the old school firing order for this exact reason. Hunting a specific sound. Until this video I have never come across anyone actually testing this before. Thank you Steve 💪🏻

    Sweet, my TBSS just made 968 to the tire on pump 93 and 21 psi. Very proud of it I did the machine work and engine build, fuel system, All electrical work, even built the 4L80 myself.

    Another beautifully executed piece of engineering by Steve Morris Engines

    • @newtonfirefly3584
      @newtonfirefly3584 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @gerrymilidantri6457;
      Steve Morris is a great, high level engine builder, assembler, mechanic that was also involved with building engines for professional drag racing teams mostly Pro-Mod and similar.
      Steve is not an engineer nor designs develops engines or other motor sports components.
      It seems that many common people are unaware of the basic differences between engineers, technicians, assemblers and such.
      The differences are similar to, with, within buildings, which people may be somewhat familiar with.
      A. The Architect designs the building with all of the details, including the layouts, plans for all of aspects of the building.
      B. The Builder, builds the building according to the plans
      C. There are also engineers involved within the building designs often, for the engineering aspects, details within the structure, also electrical systems and especially for new, or innovative designs, buildings and according to building codes, rules, etc.
      D. The builder, may have a foreman responsible to oversee all of the construction or also be the foreman.
      E. The construction is performed by trained individuals with construction skills.
      G. It is possible for one person may be the Architect, Engineer, Builder, Foreman and executes all of the construction or any combination from the top down.
      This is similar with every product including automobiles, motor vehicles, aircraft, electrical devices, power, electronics, etc.
      Hope this basic information is clear, helpful, useful, beneficial and taken within the context, intents and purpose desired.
      All the Best
      Sincerely

    Watched a Dyno test where the testers ran an engine open at the header collector and another test with extension pipes (beyond the 4-1 collector), attached. Any header extension under 18 inches, resulted in less power. (Obviously, the sound seems to be the motivator for running uncorked at the collector, but I found that interesting.

    The best part is it is Dewey approved! I would have done locking hubs and a disengage transfer case so you could still do 4wd launches if you wanted but it would drive nice. Perhaps a suburban with an smx would be a better platform. for a daily 1000rwhp. Probably could even bump it to 1250 with the same handling with the less flexy body. 🙂

    • @Stapleton42
      @Stapleton42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kylestubblefield3404 Allegedly GM did it on the LS for more balanced bearing wear but who knows. It’s the same firing order as the small block ford too. Nascar Chevy engines used to rev to 10k on the conventional firing order without any issue so it’s not a limiting factor for rpm.

    It's kind of funny. I always thought that over 100hp on a street bike made them kind of boring on the street because they are instantly going way too fast any time you lean on them at all. Well, they weigh less than a tenth as much as Steve's car. So that's right in the ball park. The thing is, you can buy 200hp motorcycles right off of the showroom floor and they cost less than a cheap car. My issue right now is that you can't buy a premium motorcycle that is light weight and makes around 80 to 90hp. All the bikes in that range are heavy budget bikes with a lot of substandard components.
