My gf's sister called me 'Jobless!'. I bumped into her again at the hospital and she found that..

Very enjoyable story with a happy ending. Despite the author's poor medical knowledge, overall well enough written.

If a person is still breathing then her heart is still beating and doesn't need CPR and the AED wouldn't recommend a shock. What, no marriage proposal?

I love these mixed translations, especially when I find the cultural mistakes. Like people bowing to each other, removing shoes inside, taking trains everywhere, extreme filial duty, imperious mother-in-laws, etc. They should just leave out the American references. It's obviously Japanese, and that's fine.

Agreed. I do get why they use anglicised names though.

All these stories are written in Japan & Japanese then translated.

Someone should research the extreme cultural differences when translating these stories. Storyteller obviously has no knowledge of CPR

Cute story, but pure nonsense. For several reasons. Also, I am not an expert, but a doctor performing surgery on a loved one is heavily discouraged.

    • @glprime2814

Depends on circumstances, such as the number of availability of surgeons at a hospital, if the patient and family request their relative, and of course, the surgery itself. If the procedure requires years of practice/study, hospitals will go with experience over how close the patient is to said doctor

      Discouraged is the prime word....
....try only individual with the training for anesthesia and then seconding the C-section and then caring for a 3lb Preamie.... in the middle of a blizzard at a community clinic/ 20 bed hospital...
Country boys do survive.... not necessarily by textbook standards....
Family Practice gone country's an area that most med schools don't have clinical on. Country doctors are the backbone of this nation.... they get it done.

Well, pure fiction at any rate.
These stories are usually on anime channels (with a full compliment of cartoonish characters) and don't claim to be in any way real.
You can tell by the formality of the wording and situations. (The confession of love and formal request to date sealed it for me).
In many countries it's all but forbidden to medically treat family members except in extreme circumstances.
In mine, definitely. There's not really a punishment if you do without exceptional reason, but it would be very difficult to change jobs. Doctor, surgeon, to a lesser extent nurse, it's an unwritten taboo. Nurse cousin explained it once as being for the good of both parties in case something goes wrong or the worst happens - the blame game gets downright cruel.

It's discouraged but allowed when no other options are available in emergency

The sister cannot call her boyfriend jobless no matter what is consider an uncalled insult. How would she feel if this happened to her? Even if her boyfriend got a great paying office community job helping many people as if the sister must learn to understand she must take this kind of job showing respect to all people in the community anywhere at anytime.

That's your opinion based off your cultural heritage. You wouldn't like others to judge your culture off a 25 minute FICTION story on youtube would you?
