Ray was right here. Robert and Stefania rushed into a relationship when they were in Italy without developing genuine feelings for one another and it came back to bite Robert in the butt, especially with him being so picky.
I don't think what they had in Italy can even be called a relationship. It was more of a fling; not destined to last long since Stefania lived there and Robert was only there for vacation. Not to mention he was in an actual relationship with Amy.
@@EdithCardellini Fair enough but it is clear that Stefania wanted more out of the relationship and that Robert knew that. Also, Robert went to some lengths, standing up to Stefania's father and everything.

Stefania was played by Alex Meneses, born and raised in Chicago. Fun fact, she played Joey's tough leather jacket wearing sister Cookie in the Friends episode "The One Where Chandler Can't Remember Which Sister" and she got to "punch" Chandler.

Anyone else find it strange how the series was about an Italian-American family in Long Island, yet the only actor of Italian ancestry was Ray Romano? Even Marco and Stefania were played by the Jewish David Proval and the Mexican-Ukrainian Alex Meneses.
It happens all the time. Jews playing Italian, and vice versa. Stefania is Mexican-Ukrainian IRL, but she definitely looks Italian here. Same corporation, different division.

Isn’t “Meneses” a form of “Menashe”? Also, according to EthniCeleb, Ray Romano had an ancestor surnamed “Manasso”. Most of us (whether Italian, Jewish, or otherwise) aren’t exactly fully of one or another ethnicity.
Not strange. It's acting. As long as they are all of European ancestry, it's fine. You don't really notice the differences all that much. The Italian portion of the series isn't all that material. The sitcom is American.

There was nothing wrong with Stephania. She really was the perfect woman. Beautiful, warm, loving, amazing italian cook, passionate, exotic accent, incredibly beautiful. Robbie was always the problem in every relationship.
All she had going for her was her looks. She had no real personality or charecter
Tom. Go back a few posts and check Brittany C's breakdown between the character relationships (development) regarding Robert, Amy, and Stefania during the series. You're correct that Robert was a problem in regards to his relationships with women (except for the Frog Lady, that was a disaster all its own). You also have to look at how he was treated by his parents growing up, especially Marie.😵💫😱🙄🤦🏿♂️
