I wanted to say to you that as someone in my mid 30s who didn't realise I was autistic among other things until very recently, I wish I had the instincts you've shown to stand up for my own needs. I went through most of my life people pleasing and causing myself pain (fighting through sensory sensitivities registers in the brain as literal pain) because I didn't want to upset other people. You need (and deserve) to be around people who accept you fully for who you are. Not having someone eat something you cooked will always sting a little, but love and respect mean them accepting that and putting your physical and mental needs over their pride. Even if a hotdog seems like a silly reason on the surface, it's a perfect representation of something much, much deeper - your disability based needs, and their ability to see, respect and make a safe space for them. (minus some cgi and an extremely white cast) miles, without knowing it, you summarized all my issues with twisters (2024) where they gave all of the heart and likeability and strength to glen powell's character and none to daisy edgar jones' character they took away everything that made twister (1996) an incredible film about a powerful, highly educated and capable punk rock woman and in twisters (2024) made her corporate and sad traumatized victim they gave glen powell the education, leadership and punk rock attitude of helen hunt combined with the boyish charm highly successful weatherman persona of bill paxton. he's a hybrid of both original characters while daisy plays a sad shell of a human it's not her fault but the script and director took a story about a powerful woman and made it instead a story about a powerful man.
