10m gold in WoD is worth at least 50-80m now. My estimation, gold has devalued at least 5x since WoD. 2015, a token was buyable for 35k-40k, now 200k ish. Spectral tiger cub pet, 50k then, now 500-800k. Pets and mounts I tracked, most are c. 10x as valuable, some of that is increased rarity due to collectors quitting. Price comparisons vary by commodity, my own tracking shows 5-8x is a minimum. (Note: converting most your gold into tokens or tradeables like hard-to-farm pets and mounts is a good thing to do before quitting).

They really do downplay the PvP part of the game :p And yeah, it was a fun time doing the quests and what have you, but it all felt a bit much with the whole "Crew rolls in and kills you", or "You gots to keep an eye out for crews" dynamic.
I didn't like it either. The lack of any kind of meaningful progression is such a missed opportunity. You'd go and get treasure and then use the money to buy...cosmetics. No upgrading your ship or your own weapons. Made the whole thing pretty pointless

The raid didn't have a loot council, not officially, but did have DKP and DKP "donations" ... whenever the raidleads felt like allowing such. Her and I didn't ERP, she just liked me and occasionally spent her DKP to funnel items my way. A few folks didn't much care for that, but I was also the off tank who subbed in for the main tank who wasn't very reliable. Also happened to be far better than him at tanking, eventually got the MT spot, the raid made great progress... so it all worked out in the end.
Somebody signalling they were open to tanking miraculously getting tank loot regardless of loot system...hmmm. She was not your sugar mommy. She gave you the lawnmower for free so you could fix her yard.
Not really though, I'd say boost buyers are wiser than that Connor fellow and know that if they want to buy a boost they have to pay a good guild that has already killed the last boss and recleared it several times (and have good enough players to do it again with 19 people) rather than a guild that's still progressing, they certainly won't be charging 30 million. Also, Connor was hardly an example of "pay to win" as (on the previous Drama Time) it was said that he got all his gold from the auction house rather than from buying WoW tokens.
