@@TheShopMiniRC can't this week but soon mwahahaha
Just learning about this. My kid is way into RC, this week he is into mini crawlers. I'd like to start a racing club for local kids that dont have a lot to do other than get into trouble.
Would love to learn more about the 'behind the scenes' work it takes to get a racing successfully started. Mini-Z seems perfect.
Is it conceivable to have young kids race the Mini-Z ready. the $50 entry kit. My idea is to buy 5 of them (killing my beer money budget) and a track and let kids from the local Boys & Girls Club race them at a community center.
Thanks for breaking down the classes. Subbed for sure. Going thru the Mini-Z playlist
So, a mini z ready to run costs about $175 per car. Then you have to buy batteries, charger, lap counter and you need new tires. All said and done you are looking at around $250 to race a mini z.
To run a track, you’d need about $ 300-600 in track (most race on something called an RCP track) but you can build something using harbor freight mats.
Then you need the lap counter system which would need a computer/laptop and the sensors. That’s about $200.
It’s pricey to get a track with a few cars going.
There are some cheaper rc cars like WLToys 969/989 and other similar cars for around 50-70 per car, but they still would need tires, and lap counter receiver.
You could always try to just run for fun on the floor/driveway and not use a counter system. Then you just need the cars.
@@TheShopMiniRC Thank you so much for the info!
I imagine I'll start getting 2 RTRs for myself and son and then budget to kick things off maybe towards the end of the year.
I'm halfway thru your 1/28 playlist and may be back with more questions! Again thanks a ton for your content and supporting the racing scene.
Mini z rules! Just got into it 2 months ago. Its a blast!
So much fun! What state do you race in?
Mini z Knox.. Knoxville TN I race a box stock and a super stock that's just a modded ready set.
@@joejackjones1 good times! The longer you do it, the better it gets!!
Nice track. Just starting into the Mini-Z fun.
It’s such a blast!!
If they had these when I was growing up, I’d never leave the house 😂
Miniz rules
It’s soo much fun! Thanks a ton for watching g the whole way through.
Appreciate the 'how it works' as I was wondering. Not my thing, but glad to learn about it. So does everyone start lined up, or staged around the track? Also, as those just off the shelf foam puzzle flooring or purpose made for this? Pretty fancy computer tracking system! Sure saves conflict as you can't argue with 'Susan' LOL!
Yeppers, everyone starts on a grid. You can see it at the very beginning. Basically 1 tile apart each. The track is a purpose made tile but many people use generic “harbor freight” anti fatigue mats and make their own.
Love these little cars... Can I ask what timing system the club /shop uses?
Thanks for the content👍👍 subbed 👍👍
Thanks for the sub! We use EasyLap: myezlap.com/
as for the software there are a few options to use with the easylap hardware. Next Level Timing, and LiveTime are both good from what I hear. We use Livetime.
@@TheShopMiniRC brilliant... Thanks for the reply looking into setting up a. Club locally 👍👍
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥
Mini Z RuleZ ! Fun content, but lets see you race the Z next time.
Haha thanks! Hard to race and record is the only thing.
Mini z rules
Sho nuffff
Holy cow those little things were fast, I wouldn't make 3 corners 😄😄
Just takes a little practice. After an hour or so, you’d get the hang of it.
Mini z rules!!!
Heck yeah it does!!!
Looking to get into mini-z myself by building a track at home. What width was the track? Can see there sections if 2 or 3 tiles but hard to judge how wide those sections are from barrier to barrier
Each tile is 50cm wide. ;)
@@TheShopMiniRC 50mm is about 2"! Did you mean 50cm perhaps?
@@garrettswoodworx1873 hahaha. Yes. Typo. 50 cm. ;)
Quick question. Is there an F1 class in PNWC races? Does your club have an F1 class? If yes what are the rules?
Yes and yes. The rules depend on the club. You can look at the PN ruleset for their rules or the Rocky Mountain 28 Scale alliance rules here www.rm28sa.com/
@@TheShopMiniRC Sweet! Thanks Boss!
For the track is the 30cm or the 50cm squares?
Our track at the store and club is the 50cm. For home use, the 30cm is better.
thats not mini-z.....dont buy kyosho you forgot to tell
I mean, we do also race kyosho mini z. They are good for the new people getting in.
