That's a lovely walk 😍. I've only ever been on a fleeting visit around that area way back in the mid 1980s. Still got a few of your other videos in the area to watch, so I'll enjoy catching up on those 👍
Fantastic! Always wanted to go to Mumbles with all its history and beautiful scenery and to be following an old railway line just topped it off! Thanks for sharing another great video with us 😊👍
I thought you might like this one. There is another coming soon from a different disused station and railway line. I hope you are enjoying your time in Wales. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@AliceGoss sounds interesting.. I'll be sure to look out for it! We've been back from Wales for just over a week now, we had a lovely time thanks dispite all the rain! 😄
Sorry it has taken me a while to catch up with this one Alice - but what a super video and a picturesque location. Very interesting story about the Swansea and Mumbles Railway. Looks like there was 10 stations altogether, and the one at St. Helens was also called 'The Slip' (presumably because of the adjacent Slipway). The railway employed 'toast-rack' seating - probably not very comfortable to have travelled on! Thank you for showing us around! Lovely area. Take care, Paul
Fascinated by Oystermouth Castle, we're trying to plan a visit around the south again at some point, but.. weather! hehe. But a beautiful beautiful walk from Swansea to the mumbles! I particularly liked the former railway bridge and mumbles pier, it's great you had a fab day out, it showed and it was great to watch! Thanks Alice
This is a part of Wales that I would like to explore further. There are a number of castles also, which would be fun to look around. More castles to come in this series, so keep watching.
A lovely walk! Be interesting to know what the iron bridge was over, since it's flat on the ground now, and why a railway bridge was right on the beach's edge! They really need information signs. Another interesting video, Alice!
A morning walk or run on any beach is always a good start to the day. Happy memories of running on beaches around the world. I discovered another Boer War Memorial in Carmarthen the following day. I must look out for a few more, as I've not seen too many. Thank you for watching.
It looks lovely and scenic at the end there with the blue skies and sunshine. It's been a funny old summer. I'm here with the window open and the airflow is distinctly chilly. Any references to Dylan Thomas or Richard Burton? I think they were both from that area of Wales.
Yes, there were, along with Catherine Zeta Jones, Shirley Bassey, and i believe Tom Jones. I had such a mixed bag of weather, but a lovely sunny day for Tenby which was brilliant. All coming next week!
The railway bridge which was along the path way was originally attached to the brick bridge by St. Helen’s but was moved a few years ago and placed where you seen it
The St. Helen’s football Stadium is actually a Rugby and Cricket Ground but from the 2025 season it will be home to the Ospreys rugby team and Swansea rugby football club and Swansea university

What an epic walking adventure that was. Great viewing as always, packed full of historical facts and local interest. Thanks for the mention. 😊
You're welcome Clive. Always a pleasure to hear from you.

I had so much fun exploring Swansea, such a great part of Wales. The bridge features again in my Carmarthen videos and looks quite different!

Lovely area.
Take care,

Thanks Paul. I hadn't planned to walk along the former railway, simply to walk to the Mumbles. Such a fun morning and definitely worth a second visit.

It's such a shame that there wasn't more information. A pleasant walk though.
@@AliceGoss Yes, nice scenery.
From Swansea originally. I Miss my early runs on Swansea beach. Great video there is also Another bore war statue in Llanelli Carmarthen west Wales.

Wow. Thank you. I did wonder, but there wasn't any information to tell me that. So pleased it was preserved and not taken away for scrap.

Thank you. Always good to receive some additional local information.
