I have never even heard of this woman but the whole delivery of this apology makes her seem like exactly the sort of person who would do the stuff that her fans allege.
I have enjoyed a couple of Colleen Ballinger's videos over the years. Addressing a serious issue in the form of a song... comes across as flippant and sarcastic. Even if you give Colleen Ballinger the absolute maximum benefit of the doubt, her behavior was deeply problematic.
In her live show, this 30 plus year old woman asks little kids to stick their hands down the front of her pants. There's one photo of it online, but it's a live show, so it probably happened multiple times. That's all you need to know, really. A 30 plus year old woman - WHO HAS KIDS BTW - who thinks it is okay for little kids to stick their hands down her pants for a live stage "joke".
"I wouldn't do it with anybody younger than my daughter, no little kids, gotta be big, older than my wife, older than my daughter, something like THAT"
I never thought watching 45 minutes of Natalie reacting to TH-cam drama would be this fun 😂 It's almost as good as watching her react to movies Maybe she should do this more often 😝
As a victim of SA at 11 and 14, I know how young that is. Colleen gives herself away by following the Predator Roadmap that every child victim of SA will recognize. My perpetrator followed the similar pattern of blaming me when he started to suffer the consequences. He broke his deafening hateful silence, and poured on the guilt. Perp: How could I let happen to him what was being done to him because of me?! Mind you, I didn't call the police, I just finally told my mom and she confronted him. Then in the name of saving a family at all costs, a church leader and my mom sat me across from him, (so creepy and awkward) and 'asked' me to try harder to get along and to forgive. Colleen's offer to her victims: 'Be nice to her and STFU, or be a mean person.' At that age I didn't have any experience or knowledge to draw from to know that the words being used to manipulate me, were twisted to mean something sick and wrong. I could not parse that out at that young age though. So Colleen's 10 minute manipulation train sounds all too familiar to me. Even her telling us to get in a vehicle, with her in control was chilling. And it came from somewhere in her sick fantasy world, where she controls children in sexual ways. Someone said, 'She didn't have sex with them, didn't really want to have sex, so she's not actually a sexual abuser.' Yes she is. It's hard for people to see women as predators, but if a man had stared down into a girl's crotch on stage, while spreading her legs out under him, played in a chatroom he named 'Wienies' inviting kids to come see him where he lives, mailed underwear etc to them, while constantly asking them if they were virgins, and what their favorite sexual position was.... Would we be saying he wasn't a sexual predator of children?! And there's so much more than that! I actually gagged all the way through it. It makes me mad it makes me sad It makes me want to stand up and fight for her victims. These kids have a right to feel intense anger and the right to confront Colleen and seek justice. Confusion is a predator's tool. I had to learn the hard way, that it's a red flag warning me to run fast and far. And these kids have a right to not have Colleen doing a little Diddy called 'hi' (couldn't possibly minimize it to a smaller title about them, and a bigger pity party for Colleen.)🙄😒 Bi+ch!
I am so sorry that happened to you and I hope you have healed or that you are healing. You are 100% right in your comment. Most abusers always go on the defensive. My father was the same. They always try to get their story in first, especially with friends and family. They are very good at manipulation. Also, notice how her... statement, let's call it, is all about "I". An apology that uses "I" too much is basically a huge red flag. She's not accepted any responsibility for anything, yet says she has. She also guilt trips us, obviously. My father's favourite lines were "you made this situation" or "you don't understand", to avoid all blame. I do not think this woman did any of this with a sexual motive, but that doesn't change how bad it is. It doesn't change that she's a groomer. That she tried to cultivate a sexual environment among kids that they were not comfortable with. Abuse comes in many different forms. A lotta people need to realise that, I think.
The fact that she wrote this, rehearsed it, recorded the video, edited the video, and then posted it, and not once did she think “maybe not a good idea…”
Learning who Colleen Ballinger is through her ukulele video was a wild experience. I had no clue about the accusations and evidence. This ukulele video alone caused me to make up my mind about whatever the situation was and it was not in her favour.
It is a perfect video. If you tried to make someone look worse, more obnoxious, self obsessed and guilty, you couldn't do it. This is a level of reputation ruination you could only do inadvertently. I bet there are a bunch more people who only heard of Colleen Ballinger thanks to this.
Thinking of how many times she must have rehearsed this "performance" makes it even more cringy and wildly inappropriate. She is minimizing what she has been doing and making it into a joke. I am even more disgusted than I was before she released this video. She also weaponized her fans to destroy the lives of those who have spoken out against her. She is toxic and still manipulating her young fans with this "statement".
My favorite part is where she goes, 'I can already hear the comments: "Oh, she's gaslighting...."' I'm just a big fan of irony, is all, and that passage itself is textbook gaslighting...on ukulele. 😂

I've just accepted that when people say "apology video" these days, it's not necessarily an apology. I think of the term now as more of a "genre" of video. Like, commentary videos typically have certain traits that you can expect, same with reaction videos... and now, the apology video, you can expect certain things; no fancy setup, the sigh at the beginning, the tone of voice, etc. But this does break the mold in one MAJOR way, of course.

I completely agree with everyone here, and I do not condone grooming in any way. Colleen is an awful human being for this whole situation and this response is just awful and so invalidating to the people that suffered. I’m honestly just confused on why Nat keeps on using the topic of periods as evidence to Colleen being a predator. I don’t think it is weird to discuss periods with minors, especially older teens (obviously the virginity and sex thing is not okay at all) and I’m confused on why Natalie keeps on bringing it up. When I was younger, periods were commonly discussed with me as a minor from adults. It wasn’t anything hyper sexual, just me being an uneducated 12 year old when the internet wasn’t around that wanted to know what was happening. I’m still very confused on why she keeps mentioning the period thing specifically. Anyone know?
Try Not to Cringe: Impossible Edition Honestly, the whole thing doesn’t feel real, I simply cannot believe that she came up with that idea, wrote it, rehearsed it, filmed it, edited it, uploaded it…AND NO ONE STOPPED HER!?? Incredible.

I didn’t realize it before when I watched other reaction videos to this, but the song is very Schoolhouse Rock feeling, like Conjunction Junction… I can’t believe I didn’t notice it until now considering this is like the 4th or 5th reaction I’ve watched about this.
"They never said I couldn't sing it" Reminds me of Shane Satterfield leaking Cyberpunk 2077 demo audio, they told people "no pictures or videos are allowed obviously" so he records the audio, then brags that nobody had the foresight to do that.
I tend to not listen to much music bc it can be disruptive to my flow (songs stuck in my head). Cant tell you how much I resent that I was humming this melody yesterday
People's facial expressions to this still entertain me years later. It almost makes me forget that she got away with it. Sigh. Good video by the way! Happy to find your channel. Also, weird aunts trying their best to relate to their young relatives is SO SO different from what she did, and the fact that she doesn't realise that is troubling.
23:39 completely unrelated but I LOVE how Natalie runs the cursor around the pillow in the video while she's talking. I do the exact same shit when I'm just talking. Even in like video games for example, if I'm talking to someone I'll just move my character around something over and over while I'm speaking lmao
Thank you so much for agreeing that Miranda Sings isn’t funny! I saw some of her material and it was a lot of SMDH. Thought I was too old to figure it out, thanks for validating this old guy’s perspective. This was a great reaction, Nat! Please keep up the incredible work! You rule!
on the 'creepy aunt' thing, I'm a transboy, and when I got my first period; despite my dysphoria; my mother told EVERYONE. My siblings, aunts, uncles, and grandparents, because her oldest 'girl' was now grownup. not even a cultural thing. now my younger sister is having hers; my mother has told nobody. I was the Guinea pig child, but the 4th child too.
She contradicts herself multiple times. She basically says, ‘I know what I did was wrong’ (so she’s admitting to it), but then saying people are trying to expose her for ‘misinformation’, and there’s toxic gossip (how is gossip when proof has been provided), plus talking about how people are enjoying & want this (when we want her to apologize). She does, unfortunately, have a fair point about cancel culture tho.
I am from the age she blew up as well, but I never thought she was funny either. But I have been all over this dumbster fire. The thing is, if she had stayed quiet or did ANYTHING else, so many people would not know who or what. She probably even posted it on her second channel so not that many people would see it. But she is in the TH-cam-history forever now. And I do believe she was genuine thinking this was a good idea, thought this out and did not improvise the video (also because it's edited, a.k.a. the cutoff ending). Because the very obvious toxicity is more between the line than said out loud. Even someone who purposefully tries to ruin their own career or get money from the drama wouldn't succeed in such a spectacular way.
love you nat! i almost didn't click because of the huge wave, but you cool and your intro statements are awesome - i was just thinking about how i've never followed trends to try to gain attention - always because i thought my perspective might have value to someone, or felt the need to talk about it for my own sake, or even occasionally for the lulz. i can probably cite that as one of the reasons i'm such an unsuccessful YT'er to this day!

she's that relative that comes to huge family bbq's that your parents request you stay in their sight when talking to
I completely agree with everyone here, and I do not condone grooming in any way. Anyone know?
natt´s triggering moments are gold, no pun intended
Try Not to Cringe: Impossible Edition
Honestly, the whole thing doesn’t feel real, I simply cannot believe that she came up with that idea, wrote it, rehearsed it, filmed it, edited it, uploaded it…AND NO ONE STOPPED HER!?? Incredible.
Thank you for giving me context as to who this person is and why there were memes of her in my Instagram stories and Reddit feed all week.
At least its shorter than R Kelly's "I Admit" 🤣🤣🤣
NATALIE IS SSSOOO FRICKIN CUTE LIKE SERIOUSLY ADORABLE
Your view is so refreshing to see. Love your content! You're an incredible human with great morals and a sensible head on your shoulders. Keep being you✌🏼
Never even heard of this person but always down for a random Nattie video :D
Of all the people to shout of for covering this, its kind of cool that you called out Nick. Big fan of his and yours, I just find it cool when youtubers I watch also watch youtubers I watch lol
The fact that she was in Ralph Breaks the Internet💀
Also speaking as a 20 year old, I would NEVER do this
fr idk what kind of 20 yr olds she knows💀
I did not know I needed this response video, but thank you so much Nat
Certified Banger of a song. I bang out to this jam 6 to 8 times a day.
Nice to hear a perspective that has a bit of distance from people involved. Thanks.
Colleen did this simply to go viral. She's a narcissist, and narcissist s don't care about bad publicity.
THAT actually makes a lot of sense if true.
She's about to pass a million dislikes.
This can't feel good for a narcissist.
And she keeps posting, pretty consistently too. She doesn't care at all
Every time she’s stops playing I sigh in relief only to flinch hard when she strums again 😖
It was so funny when she kept on making those stupid little sad faces😂 Like what is she even doing 37:57 THIS AKWARD SILENCE HAD ME GONE😭
Damn, I have been watching youtube videos since 2007 and in all my years of viewing have I not cringed more than an apology video.
Ooooh, "weird Aunt". I always heard "Weird Ant" and thought "What kind of example is that?"
I didn’t realize it before when I watched other reaction videos to this, but the song is very Schoolhouse Rock feeling, like Conjunction Junction…
I can’t believe I didn’t notice it until now considering this is like the 4th or 5th reaction I’ve watched about this.
"They never said I couldn't sing it"
Reminds me of Shane Satterfield leaking Cyberpunk 2077 demo audio, they told people "no pictures or videos are allowed obviously" so he records the audio, then brags that nobody had the foresight to do that.
If this was uncensored your commentary would 100% more funny 😅 this was awesome I hope you do more like this!
I feel really awful for Colleen's children.
I tend to not listen to much music bc it can be disruptive to my flow (songs stuck in my head). Cant tell you how much I resent that I was humming this melody yesterday
Seems like that happens to me most often when I don't hear the whole song to the end. My brain seems to try to complete it on its own.
I’m so glad you covered this.
“I wish I was in highschool: the manic and dramatic musical ft. The gaslight ukulele” by Colon Badger
"We want the facts, just stop strumming the ukulele!"
I need that on a T-shirt!
all that's gonna happen is she'll disappear for a while, randomly pop back up and people will still be there with open arms ...happens all the time
Yeah just like Shane Dawson
She contradicts herself multiple times. She basically says, ‘I know what I did was wrong’ (so she’s admitting to it), but then saying people are trying to expose her for ‘misinformation’, and there’s toxic gossip (how is gossip when proof has been provided), plus talking about how people are enjoying & want this (when we want her to apologize).
She does, unfortunately, have a fair point about cancel culture tho.
Classic narcissist prayer.
Please guys, don't come to the Ukulele, is a beautiful and cute instruments, it is innocent, poor ukulele
love you nat! i almost didn't click because of the huge wave, but you cool and your intro statements are awesome - i was just thinking about how i've never followed trends to try to gain attention - always because i thought my perspective might have value to someone, or felt the need to talk about it for my own sake, or even occasionally for the lulz. i can probably cite that as one of the reasons i'm such an unsuccessful YT'er to this day!
this really is a bop😭
I also had this song stuck in my head for a bit after I watched the video. Very unfortunate
This is my favorite reaction to this I've seen so far.
