Hi Ramon! as you were encouraging users to provide input; here's some information about my 621 conversion by the ingenious German amp builder Realtone Amps (Henrik Freischlader is using Realtone amps since his first days). Realtone has their own amazing amp designs based on historic principles, but from time to tome he is picking up a Filmosound and converts it, in slight variances. Best to be seen on the 'Realtone Amps' FB pages. Mine is with 2 6V6, a 5V3GT rectifier and a 6SJ7 as V1 (replaceable by an EF86, which gives a bit more highs. There is a switching option available also, between the 2 different V1) and a 6SL7 as V2. All direct wired, no boards, partly NOS parts partly new, and a PPIMV on the back, which is working great. the OT is the original one from 1951, while the PT has been changed to a new Realtone special design one. V1 and V2 NOS Sylvania, the 6V6 are NOS Soviet. It just sounds amazing, with warm and firm cleans and the famous lively and touch sensitive, very rich overtone-stuffed drive when the volume goes >noon. btw the 'missing' tube on your Japan version is just placed at a different place on the chassis I think, compared to the older US versions, where there were V1 and the tube for the film audio where at the right side of the chassis, besides the OT. keep doing your great YT stuff!
Hey Ramon, I wanted to ask you if you anything about the filmos made here in the UK?. I just got one with 6v6's and an ECC35 among others but it has Woden transformers on it like on JMI Vox's. It has the thin metal control plate in red with red knobs and I can't find any images online anywhere the same as it, it's still on US voltage of 110v, do you think it could be a 621 model?. Thanks mate.
@RamonGoose I've seen some models with the big step-transformer, huge looking contraption, who knows why they didn't do them on standard UK 240v?. I've looked on the Radio Museum site but no luck yet, I've got Anthony at Tube Distinctions going to do the conversion for me, he came very highly recommended. Thanks mate, always look forward to seeing your vids.
Love your videos Ramon, thank you so much on your extensive gear walkthroughs! I'm looking to get a Filmosound specialist 399 converted, which I think has 6V6 tubes. Do you think I could get close to that clean Blake Mills - Bahamas (Texosound) tone with it? I'm not familiar with such small differences in an amp
Hey Ramon, did you ever get a chance to see a Django "Stimer m 10" 20 watt with, rather than 2 x 6BQ5's (EL84's), it has 4 x 6AQ5's (similar but with only 7 pins, miniature type) to make 20 watts... which is so bloody nifty it gives me night sweats in the afternoon (!) cheers and I hope this vid starts again...

That's great brother, thanks for all your help, you're the man!.

All very interesting thanks, does the Walrus audio 365 get anywhere near the tone?
@@jamesgrobertson8024 I did ask walrus to send me a pedal for me to demo but they were not interested to do so, make of that of what you will.
