I can relate to your mom I never had a mom teach me either back in the day use type out recipes, or cut out magazines, now foodie is all over social media, online, cooking show thank you for sharing your yummy recipes I love watching your channel on TH-cam
So sorry your mom lost her mom at such an early age. Your mom has raised some wonderful and smart daughters that teach us to cook with love and share great recipes that yall grew up eating or new ones yall learned to make. Congrats on you feeling better now you're in your 2nd trimester. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you for sharing casserole recipes as they are my favorite dish to make. My mother didn’t enjoy cooking so I learned when I married and I’m still learning to make easy and tasty meals. Your channel has helped me and your daughters are lovely! 🥰
I'm definitely going to try all 3 casseroles. I esp appreciate that you give your honest opinion and your sweet daughters on taste and flavoring of the dishes. It helpful for when I go to make them what I should do differently, add or take away, etc. Thanks loads for sharing. Arlene
I love casseroles, too! I'm an elderly woman who lives alone, but I've found if I make a casserole, then I don't have to cook for about 4 days and yet I can have some great meals. Or, if they are freezable, then I can freeze half and still have meals for a couple of days! I most often buy a rotisserie chicken, divide it up & put it in the freezer and that makes it even more convenient for me! Thanks for sharing! You're girls are adorable!
Thank you so much for these easy recipes, ladies!!! My mom also made Chicken Divan for us back in the 70’s, and I haven’t made it in a long while. Thanks for re-introducing it! Blessings to your family from Kentucky! Be safe!
My mother was not a good cook, so I learned from her mother. My grandma taught me to do all the basic stuff. I began cooking for the family when I was a teenager (to spare us eating my mother's concoctions!) so I've been at it now for 60 plus years. You can teach an old cook new tricks because I am now a huge Instant pot fan, thanks to you!
Omg same!! My mom was a terrible cook. My grandma started teaching me when I was like 7. She started going blind when I was 12, so I basically started taking care of her and cooking for her and my family at that age. I'm 46 and I'm so thankful for her and these TH-cam videos for inspiration.
SAME! My mother didn't cook much & when she did it was awful! My Grandmother taught me the basics but her cooking was always rather bland...it was a standard meat, potato, vegetable (usually frozen peas) & white bread every night. When I was first married in the early 90s I use to subscribe to Family Circle & Woman's Day Magazines just for all the recipes in them (I still have all of those clipped recipes saved!) -- I'm 48 now. My youngest just turned 16 yesterday. I still cook Family dinner almost every night. Casseroles are my absolute favorite! 😊 I personally could eat casseroles literally every single night!
One of the first things I made as a new bride in 1972. Still a staple. I have found over the years to mix the broccolli with some of the soup and I use swiss instead of cheddar. Still a hit.
All look so good and easy to make. Chicken and broccoli looks divine. Your girls are so cute. What family doesn't have a few picky eaters. Glad you are feeling better! Time is flying by. Bless you and your. Thanks for sharing these great casseroles.
Just watched this and made the chicken enchilada casarole and it was AMAZING! After cooking we added salsa, avacado, and sour cream cant wait to try more of these recipes.
I make the enchilada casserole but I add a cup of salsa to the enchilada sauce it helps keep it moist. Thanks for the other casseroles. My family loves casseroles. They are quick and easy to make after working all day.
Enchilada casserole: I like the addition of black beans. If you pour your sauce into a bowl you can spoon or dip during assembly. Place a little non stick spray/oil on bottom of the dish and in a pan. Then gently warm tortilla in pan. Dip tortilla in the sauce bowl. Now lay into the casserole dish and have fun with your layers. I hope you will find this slight adjustment to the use of the sauce a moister more authentic flavored casserole🌼. I love your channel, blessings…
All of the recipes look delicious. I can’t wait to try them. Thank you for sharing all of your recipes. You have a beautiful family too. You’re a great mom.
Cute video. My aunt made this when I was young and I made it when I married my first husband. Yes it is an old recipe. We didn’t do the butter bread however. That’s new😂 thanks for the memories.
I used to call these ‘pantry surprise’ and they’re some of my kid’s’ favorites , when I didn’t really have anything to make I’d just raid the cabinets and throw something together..I also was self taught, had very few flops but learned a lot by doing ❤️❤️ yay on the baby! So exciting!!!
Six Sisters' Stuff ya that was a long time ago but some of those have remained through the years and are never quite the same, my oldest daughters favorite was some ground beef cooked into beef rice a roni with a can of red kidney beans, she even asked for it for birthday dinner several times, I rarely do anything from a box anymore but back then I was a poor widow with 4 hungry mouths and I had very limited skills so I used what I had, the egg noodles with chicken cheese and green chilies was an accidental hit also ..I’m so glad you’re feeling better, hormones are weird, I bet you’re having a boy this time, they always bring trouble ❤️
Thanks for sharing .. having a hard time with ideas and no insta pot but still watching so many of your videos! More casserole ideas please! 🥰💘 congrats on baby on the way! Made my day to hear it
It might not be as fast, but I boil chicken on the stove covered in chicken broth for 45 minutes. That might sound like a long time, but it shreds beautifully for casseroles and the broth gives it extra flavor. I make a big pot of chicken that way, drain the broth off, then freeze it in 1 pound packages. Easy peasy! Having cooked chicken ready to go in the freezer is a real time saver!
Yess love all the casserole ideas! You look so good with your little belly! 🤰🏼💜 So glad to hear food prep doesn’t gross you out anymore, especially the raw chicken! Love to see your little taste testers & helpers! Thnx! #SundayFunday #HappyLaborDay ❤️
Love Chicken divan! The way my mom made it was, mix the cheese in the sauce, and top with Pepperidge farm bread crumbs mixed with melted butter. Love your videos! Thank you!!
I hope you do more vids like this with your kids. I thought it was really cute hearing their thoughts on each recipe and also watching them help you cook the meals =)
OMG my mom made the chicken casserole once a week growing up in CA. When I moved out, it was the first recipe I asked her for and made. That is too funny. Thanks for, sharing your “special “ casseroles with us. ❤️😍
I remember the 1st time my mom made chicken divan, she too got the recipe from a magazine or something. I remember she used a whole chicken and boiled it and then she cooked the broccoli inside of the broth it made a d had to.wait for.it all to cook...took hours and hours it seemed lol but it sure waa mlm good. We always shed out chicken and mix it all together though and I dont remember her doing the bread and butter thing on top but I may try that next time. Thanks for bringing that memory back for me today. I cant wait to make this again.
Made me so hungry watching y’all cook these recipes! Thank you for sharing these because I now have this week’s meal plan done! Yummmm. (On a side note, we are keeping you, the new baby and your family in our prayers. Please keep us updated!)
The Enchilada Casserole was fantastic! I used 2 - 10oz can enchilada sauce and flour tortillas (what I had on hand) and it was perfect. 6 perfect servings.
I really appreciated your video. The ingredients were few and it was super easy. Your kind demeanor added to me enjoying the video. I also liked how you added your daughters to taste test because children don't hold back 😀 Thanks again!
First of all, you have the Cutest Helpers Ever!!!! Just Darling. I had an idea about the rice skillet casserole. Perhaps if you put a few big pats of butter and sour cream or even a bunch of chopped scallions might take care of the dryness issue. Just a thought. I just discovered your channel and love the way you make everything look so simple. Good luck with the new baby!!
I loved this video! I will be trying the chicken & rice one with more seasonings & some kind of extra juice to moisten it. I've never even thought to put it in a skillet before. & I liked that you shared that story about your mom. Congratulations on your new pregnancy. I am glad you're feeling good & healthy. ♡
I have always loved your channel but I have to say it's great seeing your sweet daughters learning to cook with you and helping out, as well as taste testing. I know it's always a bit iffy to put your kids 'out there' but I think this is the right way to do it/the right amount. I love hearing them give their ratings to the recipes. Thank you for your videos!
I cook a lot of your recipes and my family love them, so thank you. I did the air fryer chicken enchiladas which were a huge hit, even with my daughters 2yr old!
Your pretty daughters are gr8 taste testers, and the casseroles look delish! I'm going to buy the ingredients for the enchilada casserole and make it tomorrow night for dinner.
My family loves chicken devan! I put regular yellow curry in the cream of chicken mixture and it’s delicious. I usually just use bread crumbs mixed with butter but your way sounds amazing so I’ll be trying that next time! Thank you for all these yummy ideas!

Hi, I'm in NM, my family makes it with chopped hot green chiles and mushroom soup with hamburger - mix together pour over each layer of corn tortillas with cheese on each layer, yummy!
The chicken Divan recipe is as old as the hills and one of my favorites too. For variety, add a tsp or 2 of curry powder...keep it light, the flavor will intensify with cooking. For a little something different with the enchilada casserole use Doritos instead of corn tortillas and add a cup of sour cream to the enchilada sauce....it's also very good with chicken and green enchilada sauce! I got a mix n chop from pampered chef, then found my meat masher (basically the same thing!) At Dollar Tree and I LOVE it so much more!!
I haven't seen a meat masher at my Dollar Tree. I'm going to have to look harder next time I'm there 🤷🏻♀️
@@lisab.3091 It's black with a little red on the handle. I've seen it in red there as well. Also Walmart has a version too.

Puff pastry sounds even more delicious!

One of the first things I made as a new bride in 1972. Still a staple. I have found over the years to mix the broccolli with some of the soup and I use swiss instead of cheddar. Still a hit.
Pat Hello how are you? I'm Johnny from California what about you?
Swiss would taste amazing in Chicken Divan!
All look so good and easy to make. Chicken and broccoli looks divine.

Oh yes, chicken divan. That was one of our staples. She used half mayo half sour cream and topped with French's fried onions. Fabu. Tfs~ m
Chicken Divan is my family's favorite meal of all time. We shred the chicken and also add curry powder to the sauce. Serve on rice and its so good.
How much curry powder?
