Ah yes…a late 2nd half relief appearance by none other than “The Throwin’ Samoan” QB Jack Thompson.
To late 70’s-early 80s Cincinnati Bengals or Tampa Bay Bucs fans, the former 1979 1st round pick was commonly referred to as,
    “The OVER-Throwin’ Samoan.”
In spite of an overwhelming evidence of his inadequate play under center for the Bengals, Tampa Bay STILL traded their 1983 1st Rd pick for Thompson…
By 1984, The Bucs saw all they needed to of Thompson & were 100% ready to move on..
In doing so, they signed veteran QB Steve DeBerg & acquired the rights to BYU QB Steve Young, who played in the USFL at the time.

Dan Pastorini playing for the Rams, he should have retired in 1980 after breaking his leg with the Raiders. He sat on the Eagles' bench the next 2 seasons.

Haden was so much better than Pastorini. Don't know why the Rams didn't play Pat this season.
