The Steelers were a horrible matchup for the 49ers. It's too bad they couldn't get past Miami because they had a great chance at that 5th ring had they made it to the Super Bowl. Miami's receiver strength were easily matched by the 49er secondary. Miami had no ground game. They were one dimensional. The Steelers were as complete on both sides of the ball as the 9ers were. Would've been a great Super Bowl.

Seeing these old games is a bittersweet treat. I spent so many Sundays in the 1970s and 80s watching football (mostly the Lions) on Sundays with my Dad and my brother and other friends and relatives. Now I hardly ever watch, because my Dad is gone, my brother lives five states away, and my friends have scattered. Sports doesn't mean as much without the ones you love there to enjoy it with you.
