- Revell 1/48th scale Bristol Beaufighter, one of the RAF's most successful twin engined fighters. The TF.X version of this versatile fighter aircraft was used mainly for low-level attacks against shipping. It was armed with a torpedo and machine guns.

Beautiful aircraft. Was given the honour of of climbing inside and sitting in the cockpit of a nice one at Morrabin aviation museum in Victoria, Australia a few years back. Loved every minute of it. Could watch you airbrush all day, great job.

Theres a lovely story in Hugh Pophams Sea Flight: His squadron were co-located on Orkney with a Beaufighter unit who had been writing off too many airframes with poor landings. The early Beaus had a high landing speed and nasty ground loop habit. The Beaufighter squadron leader asked for a test pilot or instructor to come up and give his men a good lesson. A few days later in poor weather a Beaufighter turns up overhead and makes a perfect three point landing. Assuming this was the expert pilot he had requested the whole squadron was turned out to watch and meet him as he taxied in. *That is how you land a Beaufighter!* berated the Sqdn Ldr *Pay attention and do everything he says!* Out of the cockpit climbs an attractive 5ft blonde female of the ATA diverted from a regular delivery run. According to Popham the Beaufighter boys were dumbstruck and their landings improved dramatically. Never seen someone put an ATA pilot climbing out of a WW2 model - would be different.

Nice work. I was an aircrafty fitter at Filton in Bristol and worked with a guy in the 80's who worked on these aicraft. The base of the gun turret was machined and was in two halfs that he used to gas weld toghether.
I've always loved the looks of the Beaufighter. As my dad, a pilot once said to me "looks right, flies right"

Beautiful build Sir. Due to ill health I've a bit of time on my hands and fancy getting back into model building after a thirty odd year hiatus. Have been watching TH-cam to get an idea of how far the modelling scene has come in that time; a rather long way it seems. You're work really "pops-out" and I find just watching all these builds extremely relaxing, almost a "Zen" experience.
I've always had a "thing" for WWII twin engine planes. The Bristol Beaufighter and de Havilland Mosquito being my all time favourites. They have that hunkered sense of power and purpose that you know will see them through most scraps & fights.
I've subscribed and will be watching many more of your videos, thanks for the inspiration and joy your work brings.
The excellent outstanding molding corresponds to ICM. I just made a 1/32 Stearman PT17 by ICM/Revell and everything about the quality of pieces was beyond my expectations. I widely recommend ICM; won't let you down.
Dusan IS a modeling ace ! I have learned so much from him watching his video's over the last couple of years.

Ja man denkt immer so jetzt krieg ich das auch hin, aber man schafft es nie, deshalb habe ich ich damit aufgehört, weil ich nie ein perfektes Ergebnis hatte deshalb sammle ich hobbymaster Modelle im 1/72 Maßstab :)

Great kit and excellent build! Video skills match your modeling skills. I really do hate Revell boxes though (I realize it helps keep the cost down, and adds to the value-for-money of their kits). I have NEVER built one model at a time, some are built over long periods of time, and it is nice to have a proper box to store the partial built sub-assemblies etc. I have purchased flip top storage boxes for several of my Revell builds and re-use them when completed.

I like clean look models. But I also enjoy adding weathering and dammage to certain models. It's on how I feel from kit to kit.

Building the tamiya Mk. VI right now, and I really like it! So much I ordered a Mk. X too.. This seems alright as well however.

My Great Uncle was a Beaufighter Pilot ( Rank Sgt P/O A ) for both RAAF
463 Sqd and RAF 108 Sqd in the North African/ Med campaign - one of 4
Australians in a Unit ... 108 flew Night Fighter patrols over Egypt,
Libya, Malta, Greece and the Aegean generally. His personal file shows
the destruction of Ships, Trains, motor vehicles and a Heinkel HE. 111
among other victims. The HE .111 would be fantastic to add to a 2 Plane
Diorama! I have record of the specific colour camo scheme for his Night
Fighter which is not provided for in any kit I have seen - these were
Dark Earth - Middle Stone with Night beneath wings coming up in waves
over the center line of the fuselage and above the dark red Squadron
Markings towards the tail - I will need to add 108 Sqd Decals to the
model as well. Through 1943-44, flying out of an airfield in Athens -
after the HE. 111 was intercepted and destroyed - records state his Beau
harassed a German retreat by strafing Railway and Motor Transport
following this up with nightly 'Intruder Missions' over the wider Aegean
( Salonika, Crete, Rhodes, Melos, Leros and Cos ). Must have been one
hell of a show. He lived well into his 90's and only recently passed
away. Cheers for the great build! ( I have the Tamiya 1/48 Night Fighter

Two piece wheels? Not even weighted? Nice detail painting for the pit. I have to laugh, my Dad gave me a set of pin vise drill 30yrs. ago. Never really had much use for them, until I started to build models. Can't live without them now! Nice looking engines, pretty good detail throughout. Excellent OOB build, beautiful weathering! First of all, your craftsmanship and artistry are of a superior level. In my youth, I used to participate in local IPMS modeling meetings and contests. So, I have some experience and appreciation of scale modeling.
Anyway, I was a little curious about your thoughts and practices in scaling values and saturation of colors when it comes to the painting of your models. And by the way, I think that you painting skill and approach are very artful.
In other words, if you are viewing a model in 1/48th scale, it would be like viewing an actual aircraft from several feet away. Therefore, considering the effect of atmospheric perspective, colors would be less saturated and value contrast would not be as great. For example, the invasion stripes at this scale would not black and white, but would be very dark gray (almost black) and very light gray (almost white)..
Please let me know your thoughts and keep up the great artistry!
