we grew up that our parents tell us singing is not a job, go and study nursing or whatever…. They highly discourage us to go into arts… so most filipino have different job and singing or art is just a hobby…. Also people who become real singer are really really good at it in Philippines…… the qualification to be a popular singer in Philippines is so high…..

its no secret that almost all filipino population knows how to sing. even the most ordinary of ordinary people in the philippines can sing better and belt higher than some professional singers locally or internationally. they just decide not to pursue singing as their career because the level of competition in this country in terms of singing is unimaginable. thats why some even go to other countries just to try their luck there. 😂
Unlike in other cointries where people that has music inclinations will have to enroll in misic schools while in the Philippines most Filipinos from children to older people has that hobby in singing videokes at home,in reztaurants, schools, in malls and other places.

Neighbours belt like this using karaoke/videoke here. At times, it is annoying and disturbing but yes they are great at singing but sometimes people sing from morning until midnight, especially in the province.
