nothing compares to being 16 in 2007 in rural wisconsin hearing this for the first time and realizing that there IS life and culture beyond your hometown and that you will experience it all one day
There was another video of Owen performing this song but in a different t venue and I believe without a drummer. The way he sang the song was my favorite. The video was removed from TH-cam, please bring it back!
I had never even heard of Final Fantasy / Owen Pallett until I won tickets to see Bloc Party in concert a couple of years ago. Final Fantasy opened for Bloc Party. 'Twas an amazing show.
Does anybody know where I can find an mp3 of this version because it's fantastic! I think it's one of the best cover of This Modern Love I've heard so far. I usually think other bands either hit it or demolish the frailty of the song.
I have to say, i think you're wrong about bloc party, who to me have been progressing since Silent Alarm and are constantly changing. as for Efterklang, i'd have to say, a big meh to be quite honest. i like lyrics myself, which is probsably party why im drawn to bloc party, but i listend to a bit of tv on the radio, that's pretty good (: thanks
Oh c'mon, my bark has no bite. Sorry, though, but Bloc Party are not that great, although they were one of the best new bands when they came out in the music black-hole that was four years ago. They are a poor 2000s version of what The Smiths were doing, over-blown emotionalism and angst: Good for teens. For my money, TV On The Radio, Deerhunter/Atlas Sound and Fleet Foxes are much more interesting. Hey, you might like Efterklang, they also are dramatic but mostly due to the music. Try "Parades"
Fucking hell, im jsut saying, this to me sounds like crap, i never said anything bad about the stones or cash or bob dylan. you called me parranoid but all i can see is you mouthing off at people who dont get this wierd cover version. bloc party are amazing and i jsut do not have any idea how people would choose this over them, dont get so pissed off about it.

Remember after watching this video I started to search his music. 13 years from now. Shame I only got to see his live performance once.
You got to see it. For me that's an achievement.
I would love to see him

Same! I look for that same video every 6ish months hoping it's back... Bring it back!
I think it's this one you're referring to th-cam.com/video/DTThyGsqS90/w-d-xo.html. It's also my favorite.
@@TheGreatMrKid Were you thinking of this one? th-cam.com/video/DTThyGsqS90/w-d-xo.html

It shouldn't matter if he's Canadian or not. He's an amazing musician.
holy ballz.... awesome
everyone's fighting in the comments because the comments are 9 to 11 years old and that's when people fought on TH-cam comments
this video's really important to me btw
same
The bit between 1:25 and 1:27...what a great, swoony sort of smile.
For an astounding split second, I thought that was the singer from Airborne Toxic Event playing the drums.
this is amazing im already trying to work it out on my violin

@panadol182 its a loop pedal a good one is a boss rc20 loop station you could find other types but thats the one i use
@thanelandv It shouldn't matter if he's a homosexual or not. He's a cool Canadian musician.
It's his version of the song. If he wants to shape the song differently then he can.
sweet boy
A W E S O M E
i saw him at latitude festival - he was amazing (didnt play this though). the crowd loved him! i think hes better without a drummer though...
This cover is pretty good apart from squalls shouting, loving the violin.

is he trying to look like cloud or something ?
@carbonstixdrummer lol
Why should it matter if he's Canadian either then?
Man, it's like someone hasn't even listened to the Beatles.

By the way, Bloc Party are far better than this band could ever dream of being.
haha yeah so much more talented they have trained their whole lives to play other peoples music
is this original comment really that offensive?
drum's too loud...
