I owned a CJ-5 back in the '70s and currently own a 1988 Sammy that I bought new. They're both excellent 4Xs. One advantage the Sammy has is that being so light you don't have to beat it up so much. It just floats on top of sand, mud, whatever that the CJ would have to torque through. Also it handles deep water better. The CJs advantage was that it was a more powerful, heavily armoured, and rugged vehicle. The Sammy is 20 years old and has never let me down.
i`m impressed...it makes sense .. years ago a friend of mine had an old postal jeep with a 4 poper..the thing was so light it went just about anywhere...
Embarassingly Capable Little Buggy. That was some sick shit. Agricultural tires, what a 8 inch lift, Locked DANA 44s, er toyot Axles front and rear,4.76s some sort of solid 4-cyl,, maybe a toyota 2.7 from a taco??? sweet none the less
for one that is one wierd looking snorkle and for 2 its a sweet sounding sammie and it sounds like a 6v and the tires are nice beacuse they have the tractor type of rubber on them so u know it casn make just about any thing. all and all sweet ass sammie =)
very nice samurai. What size tires you use ? also what type of modifications have you done. Please explain and send some picyures of your suzuki. thanks
Suzuki Samurai's , the street legal versions of side by side 4wheelers ! ! ! And while your at it you could just go ahead and call them the original side by side 4wheelers , since they are narrower than a jeep and wider than a 4wheeler.
They don't flip any easier than any other similar type of car, This was a story started by the Consumers Union, probably for some political reasons regarding the US car markets.. Check out parts 2 and 3 of CU's own testing video..
@americanmonster1 i have owned a samurai and a jeep, the sammi costed $4900 to build and the jeep ended up costing me $9000. in the end the zuk went more places got better gas milage and was more fun. you cant knock it till you drive it
@69nater69 you know I just came down from a Rowher Trail in my stock Jeep, which is rated (the trail) most difficult. Didn't get stuck, didn't get off the road, didn't skid, got through everything just using the stock car and my skill, so I can't agree with your comment that stock Jeeps are useless.
Liters? so does it have 3 cylinders or something. jeez my kia has 1,8 and its slow as fuck. but the samurai looks very capable in the vid. great engineering.
Daviddoesit- I doubt it would, but even so... Who cares. Make you own video and proove it if thats the case. This is a KILLER video that doesnt need your stupid responces.
No way a stock suk would do that mud. If you are going to go through mud like that you NEED the bigger tyres, the stock cheese cutters just wouldn't do the job. P.s. anyone know if this guy is running lockers?
samurai are the best 4x4's period......

That Sammy ate that mud up! Great video. My Sammy is an '88. She was my first foreign car.

Impressive!!! I can definetely tell that this was built right.
Bad Ass Suzuki! I don't think my 4x4 quad would make it through that.
These little things are bad ass just like a side by side wheeler i like 5 stars

hey buddy ive got alot of american pride too and i like jeeps but i love my samurai. its ok to be american and prefer a samurai over a jeep
it's either a 1.3L or a 1.6L but i'm sure it's a good ride, any vehicle is a good one, if you put on good tires, a lift, and lockers
what are the fender flares for? are they for the zuk? at the end of the video it looked like it was rolled?
Hello Sam.

It's closer to 88hp, I had an 87' and an 88'
hhahahaha thats true
ahahhaa
stock zuk could do most of that. any idiot can put big tires on something and pin the throttle.
@geddlype it isnt bullshit. i have a one and it can do everything that does :) and i can afford whatever i want.. but out of choice, i have a suzuki:)
The truth about the Suzuki samurai part 2
stock Zuk's just idle though that kind of stuff,I was wondering why all the noise, Ahh yeah Toyota
@69nater69 I agree!! For having owned one stock once. I miss it. Had to sell it. My girlfriend got pregnant. And I want it back so bad now....
Nice truck...does not sound like the stock motor... the only downfall of the samurai... 1.3L is underpowered. but they go anywhere!!!
My stock sami with cheater chains and a lincoln locker would blow that thing out of the mud.
@americanmonster1
haha well your lucky.
i've seen much bigger in a samurai so it prob wouldnt be to much at all
Seriously? Is your "snorkel" what I think it is??????
@290reaper and it turns on a dime..
well you know the motor is gonna last forever cuz its toyota andddd its a 22re:) yota ftw
Hell we had my friends goin 60MPH through sharp ass curves and its lifted 12 inches. if ya know how to drive then they wont flip lol
No way a stock suk would do that mud.
If you are going to go through mud like that you NEED the bigger tyres, the stock cheese cutters just wouldn't do the job.
P.s. anyone know if this guy is running lockers?
@americanmonster1 and you can't spell " your " means possession you're is what you were trying to say. did you not learn that in school?? ha!
samurai's flip at 35......thats sad. and they really do flip there not making it up i saw one flip the other day goin around 30....sad.
cool samy but gay fenders
he has got a lot of moneys worth in that truck the stock trucks are useless
dont belive you......lol
@69nater69 bull shit, just cause you cant afford a jeep
