    About Me: Last year, I fell in love with skiing and picked up a part-time seasonal job at a Montana Ski Resort for the Winter 2016/2017 season. Prior to moving to Montana, I lived in NYC for five years and worked at a large advertising and marketing agency. Originally from Florida, living near the Rocky Mountains has been an incredible opportunity. Throughout my time in Montana, I'll be documenting our adventures. In addition, my boyfriend and I are backpacking Europe for two months this summer. Thanks for following along the journey!

    Thanks Shannon. I live near the Florida/Alabama line and love Big Sky. I have been to several of the places you mentioned and will try to do the rest. I have never even noticed the hidden huts on the ski runs. We also like to go to Bucks T-4 and also have enjoyed ski mobiles in Yellowstone.

      Hey Frank! Great to hear from you. Big Sky is a very special place -- especially for us Florida folks who knew nothing about snow hah. Never tried Bucks T-4, but heard great things about the wild game! Snowmobiling in Yellowstone is definitely on the bucket list. We had a tight budget, so had to skip out on those things sadly haha. Montana is awesome! Shhh...but don’t tell everyone. :-) We are from Texas and have skied Big Sky the last 2 years. I’m certainly glad it’s underrated. The lack of crowds on the wide assortment of trails can’t be found elsewhere.

    • @bengermanb
      @bengermanb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So Telluride doesn't offer similar? The fact that it's in a box canyon and physically CAN'T be expanded was appealing. I've debated if I were to relocate which of the two places I'd go.

    • @jusgibs
      @jusgibs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dunno, I’ve never skied Telluride and haven’t investigated its size, but if it’s comparable to Big Sky, my relocation would be Telluride. Love Colorado. More to do and not quite as cold. But Big Sky is lower elevation. You don’t get winded as easily.

      Hi there! :) So great to hear from another fellow Floridian. Ahhh you're going to love skiing in Big Sky. I love the brand Flylow (great quality, not too pricey) - check out Evo.com or Steepandcheap for great deals. The thrift stores in Bozeman, MT right outside of Big Sky also have really inexpensive ski gear! Obermeyer is pretty inexpensive, but check reviews for warmth/waterproof ratings. Have so much fun!
