@@emeraldcelestial1058 It's definitely the classic blink best era sound. If you could nail their sound and them as a band in a song, it's Dammit or this.
yeah the chord changes mostly come with his playing. on the count of him mostly using power chords. and then on the quieter parts he likes to throw in fills. but yeah, totally agree with you
I love when he smiles a bit playing these songs. You can see it brings him so much joy to play these riffs. Also, these videos are giving me an appreciation for his bass playing. Not super technical, but you can really hear how his note selection makes the songs so much richer.
Yeah the ease with with he plays this drives me bonkers. I look like I’m trying to put out several fires while playing this and I’ve been playing for 20+ years. It’s wild
Fuck me, this takes me back so far. I was still in school when you guys rocked my world, now we pushing 35. Gives me so much pleasure to see you still so passionate and jamming it out.
When I was learning bass I used to play Blink 182 songs all the time because they are fun, relatively simple and just make you feel good. Of course I don't mean simple as an insult, its actually quite the opposite. That is the beauty of them.
I'm so happy to know Mark is well now, and now that Blink is back I've bought tickets for my whole family and we'll travel 5000 kilometers to see Mark and the guys live in Prague ❤️❤️ My kids are thrilled
I, haven’t really heard, this song, in a long, long, while… All I can remember is last listening to it, when I was in my late adolescent teenage year’s.
Mark is so cool man, thank you for showing me how to actually play this song. Flawless. It has taken me 9 days to sound a bit decent after practicing it over and over and over again. You’re unmatched.
Loved your music from Cheshire Cat, had you guys on repeat for years. Now my kids are jamming to these classics. Thanks for decorating my youth memories with the best music!
Que nostalgia ver a mark hoppus con canas escuchar esa canción del 2000 la primera película de american pie la mejor decada de la adolescencia en estados unidos hermoso recuerdo ojala pudiera volver el tiempo jaja ❤️
This is so cool that he posted this. I love that the bass is really heard in the song. All 3 of their instruments just make Blink so special. But I love Mark's bass playing in this song.
omggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg my favorite song from american pie jesuuuuus, i love your bass mark
i always felt like this was the most underrated blink song
Easily, imo it's their best. The funniest and it has the best bass/guitar riff combo.
@@emeraldcelestial1058 It's definitely the classic blink best era sound. If you could nail their sound and them as a band in a song, it's Dammit or this.
It's got a great bass riff, wish they played it more live, but they already play so many from enema.
No way. It was in American Pie during the Nadia scene. It's pretty damn iconic as far as Blink songs go.
@@SplitSauce2289 Still underrated.
Every time I hear this I think of Jim falling in the bushes in American pie.
exact
The good old days.
100%
Alwaaays reminds me that hahahahahah I LOVE AMERICAN PIE AND BLINK 182
Mutt = American Pie, great memories of 1999!
Mark is such an underrated bassist, huge part of Blinks sound. Not a typical rhythm bass player either, he’s arguably the main riff guy.
yeah the chord changes mostly come with his playing. on the count of him mostly using power chords. and then on the quieter parts he likes to throw in fills. but yeah, totally agree with you
He takes a lot of inspiration from Tony/Karl from Descendants
I mean a lot of songs he's just playing the root note, but songs like this one he flexes a bit more
@@salkdhfpoahergpoahre1534he plays loads of power chords despite being on the root note, it makes a big difference
Get off his dick. He plays the most basic bass parts ever. There's like 5 songs where he plays with a bit more complexity.
Favourite song of theirs, reminds me of good times and getting mega excited hearing blink 182 in the movies in America pie 🤘🤘🤘
Dude, exactly. Same here all the way.
I love when he smiles a bit playing these songs. You can see it brings him so much joy to play these riffs. Also, these videos are giving me an appreciation for his bass playing. Not super technical, but you can really hear how his note selection makes the songs so much richer.
Kinda like kiss, super easy and plain bass lines that makes music super enjoyable
I agree, so cool to see him enjoying playing these songs that have brought us all so much joy over the years!
69th like 😎
I’ve always though that ‘bass hook’ section was really musical and no one ever says anything about it.
I’ve commented this elsewhere but that’s my absolute favorite riff Mark ever wrote. It’s so simple but so damn catchy.
Yeah the ease with with he plays this drives me bonkers. I look like I’m trying to put out several fires while playing this and I’ve been playing for 20+ years. It’s wild
I love everything about this song. The drums especially.
It is so weird hearing Scott Raynor's version of this song.
Looks like you still enjoy the older tunes Mark. This just reminds me of American Pie.
Waiting for Carousel
Carousel, for me, the best bass line from Mark
Carousel is my favorite Blink song of all time. Best bass riff from Blink, and no one plays that guitar part as well as Tom.
Finch: There he goes.
Kevin: whooooa, now we're in business.

If this song reminds you American Pie, then You’re my friend.
I have always loved this song, I have always thought that I’m the only who still listens to this since it’s an old gem. Never gets tiring for me! ✌️
When I was learning bass I used to play Blink 182 songs all the time because they are fun, relatively simple and just make you feel good. Of course I don't mean simple as an insult, its actually quite the opposite. That is the beauty of them.
Still trying to play man overboard correctly to this day😭😭
I was in highschool when this came out and live in the suburbs. This was my life
I'm so happy to know Mark is well now, and now that Blink is back I've bought tickets for my whole family and we'll travel 5000 kilometers to see Mark and the guys live in Prague ❤️❤️
