Please release an updated version of how you edit your photos and Fuji xt5 edit workflow
Will definitely
oh wow. I've never used flash on my T5. Going to try this one out!!
You should check out the fuji EF-X8 flash. It’s a pop up flash powered by the camera so you dont have to worry about the battery issue. Definitely gives that point and shoot flash look in an even more compact setup!
Very nice. I’ll take a look!
I use my XT-30 with the built in flash kinda the same way. Having a black mist filter screwed on also helps a lot with that filmic look. Love it
Love my XT5
Pacific Blues simulation recipe from Fuji x Weekly is one of my favorites to use
The photos are so Gooooood!! Beautiful!
I’ve been using that flash with my XPro3 for a few years now. I recently was looking to buy a second one as a back up for if it fails, and I was blown away at how high the price of this flash is now. It really is a solid compact flash for an EDC. It’s easy to fall in love with the Fuji system. It’s effortless to use and has a lot of soul.
The X-T5 is def on my list after doing a lot of research on it and reviews, the fact i can have a nice form factor with 40mp with the film emulations and other recipes is just wild. For sure will be on of my next work horses thats perfect for travel.
Hasselblad X1DII / 45P / Canon 90EX flash for me always gives me absolute stunning results.
The Ricoh GRIII comes close to the Contax T3 form factor and it's the camera I take with me whenever I don't want to bring something bigger.
Beauty! That's what I'm trying to do with my XS-20 too! Do you edit your photos still or you have a custom film sim?
Beautiful video as always! What grip are you using? So clean.
A timely video. I’m just about to pick up a small Godox flash for Xmas for my XT3. I do miss the little flash in the X100T I used to own. So handy having it built-in.
If you mean the lux junior - do so. I have it on my XT3 and it was such a bargain
would love to see some recipes you have found or made!
The colors in the video bits of you talking are so good
I have an xt5 that I use for work, but for everyday stuff I have the xt30. I should try using a flash more! Thanks for the great video
Thanks for watching!
I have the X-S20 and it has a built in flash but I’m not sure if it’s powerful enough to be worth using. Still learning
Love the new look of your website! What template did you use for it?!
Thank you! Maybe I’ll make a video on it
Now if only Fujifilm could make an updated version of the flash. Maybe put in a replaceable lion battery or maybe use the NP-W126s on it? I dunno, just make a new freakin version! Would be nice to release together with the next X100, X-Pro, or X-E model!
Are any of these photos shot with film simulations, or do you mainly shoot RAW photos? Great stuff as always man. Thanks!
Nice setup. The X-T5 is a great camera I picked one up a year ago. Only thing is, I find that that as far as trying to get a film look on the X-T5 it can be to sharp and clinical. I have quite several Fuji cameras and the one that I get the best results for a film look is the X-E1 with the original X-Trans 1 sensor. It just has so much more character to the jpegs and raws and I am able to get a closer film look than on my X-T5 specially the colors. Yes the X-T5 has a ton more features but the X-E1 just does the film look for me way better not to mention how compact it is.
Totally. I don’t mind the sharp images personally I like the 40MP sensor
Such a good setup. This is becoming a huge component of my workflow for personal stuff. I use the x100v and the contax TLA140 for this same feel. I love film but I'm finding it harder and harder to justify.
Do you not like the built in flash for the x100
I do. I just prefer the TLA140. I’ll use it with a cable sync as well. feels more like my film setup that way.
Besides the film spool teeth on the Contax T3, were there other issues you had with them? For the teeth, I've seen some fixes like taping the film leader down or replacing teeth with tiny screws to grab the sprocket holes.
Great video, got me hyped up for the next X100 camera. Rumors say the new X100 model is supposed to be announced in early 2024. BTW can you imagine buying 1.4 LM WR lenses for XT-5 or are you completely satisfied with the F2 versions?
Pretty satisfied with the f2 I won’t lie! I don’t shoot wide open enough to justify 1.4 and also don’t really want that big of glass on a daily carry camera
X100VI seems to check all of your boxes now. Any plans on looking into that vs your X100V?
Love that EF-X20 so much, shame they cost so much nowadays! No idea why Fuji decided to discontinue it!
Would be good to hear about your other details. Are you shooting it in full auto? Aperture priority? Film simulations? Editing?
He said he uses the XT5 in aperture priority
xt-5 with the grip and 27 pancake looks so damn sexy~ timeless aesthetic on that digital body and lens combo.
It’s really nice
would be super interested in how you edit these!
Noted!
Amazing video, quick question, how you add such realistic halation on the digital photos?
Really is about the light you’re working with. Angle of the sun, natural diffusion etc. also really working the tone curve helps
I'm curious if you've ever tried the Ricoh GR? I also have the X-T5 and while I love it, the Ricoh is just so easy to bring with sometimes and really gives me the point and shoot vibes especially if I'm just doing family / friends stuff.
I’ve never tried it!
Ricoh gr cameras are the one of the best small point and shoot and put away cameras. Very discrete
I was literally just thinking about watching one of your (old) videos then you randomly uploaded
I used to use a Yashica T4 super for a film p&s.
Why the X-T5 vs the x100v?
Bro ive been looking at that fuji ef-20 flash for a couple of years now and just never pulled the trigger. Is the recycle time faster than the X100V Flash?
What settings to set to shoot with the flash?
📸
the XT-3 all the way burner cameras!
Thanks for the video. I guess my main question is - what makes this setup better than an X100V, which is more compact and has a flash built in? I get that the X-T5 is on the smaller end of cameras, but it's nowhere near the size of a T3, especially with that flash on top.
Based on what you said were priorities for you in a digital point and shoot setup, I would think that the X100V (or one of the other ones) would fit that better.
Personally I like the sensor much more on the Xt5 vs the X100v. Is it smaller? Yes but I don’t want to sacrifice too much on quality. Also the EVF on the Xt5 is unparalleled to the X100V. Dual card slots, interchangeable lenses etc etc. it just fits better for my workflow.
@@SamuelElkinsPhoto got it! I am dying for a digital T3 - compact, premium build, fixed lens, flash, no frills. I don't think it's going to happen!
I’m wondering if you edit with the Camera Matching Fuji picture profiles in Lightroom as the base or just use the standard Adobe Color
I use both! Sometimes velvia sometimes adobe color it really depends on the image and what I’m trying to bring out I’d say
@@SamuelElkinsPhoto Ahh I see. That’s why your recent photos have this subtle difference compared to images in your editing workshop course when you used Canon. These look amazing!
Maybe I missed it cause I skipped around a bit - but are the photos at the end JPGs or are you editing RAWs? I've finally found a recipe that I like for most things and manage not to edit most of my Fuji photos these days, but I'm always curious what other people are doing. Either way the shots look great and I agree, 23 f2 is the way to go! It never leaves my XE4
-Cody
Usually RAWs, it’s hard to shoot JPEG for me haha
@@SamuelElkinsPhoto i feel it haha
HEY Cody and Victoria, follow your channel and both instagrams and loveeee the vibes! Do you mind telling me what recipe you ended up loving the most for daily shooting id love to know esp since i love all your posts!
You mention it acts as a digital point and shoot for you, are you therefore shooting auto just to get the point and shoot function, like a mju or something?
Aperture priority yes - all I have to do is move the aperture ring on the lens
So we wait for a fuji jpg simulation from you now.
Does anyone know if the ef x20 is compatible with the xt3
I believe it is
Paige ❤🎉you 😅
Easiest solution = use film cameras instead
Most ignorant solution
Nikon Zf is way better than the Fujis.
