The GM will only make the final decision with the input of Harbaugh and the other coaches. The GM may run it, but not without Harbaugh's approval, no question about it.

I've been a Bolt fan from birth. Almost half a century. I've never said that about our coaching staff before. Trust them and let's enjoy this ride this year. Bolt up means bolt up for the coaching staff too.

I agree with the reasoning but without the literal version of the excellent attitude adjustment advice! Only question is at what age you start counting years of Bolt fandom? I can go as high as 58, as I checked in just in time for post operatively named Super Bowl 1.

Another thing many are missing about Rice. Rice has been performing really good in practice against OUR defense. And we all can see how good bolts defense has been. Meanwhile Simi has been doing well against lesser defenses. TBH I haven’t seen anything mentioned about simi in camp. No big plays with Justin or against our defense. Has anyone else?
I agree 100% with your observations and have BOTH Fehoko and Rice on my 53 list. I do it by keeping 7 (yes, 7!) WR but only 8 OL and 4 TE and 4 RB with only 1 QB for a total of 24 Offensive players in my 53. That allows an open hole for QB2 when chosen from waiver wire to get to balanced (25 O, 25 D, 3 ST) roster. ONLY AFTER getting the complete list of cuts do you decide on which to cut/stash on PS between Rice & Fehoko. I have a feeling our WR production is going to be a matter of flux, injuries and development of reportoire with Herbert. I dont like Sarell and worry more about the C depth as Salwyer is my swing tackle and RB5 is on PS.

Only reason he made a few throws to Fehoko was cuz it was his 1st read and he was wide open. By the time he got to rice the windows were smaller and Stick couldn’t make those NFL throws for the life of him.

And the one in the EZ coulda been a TD but he was waiting for the ball , it's just that you gotta go get it, and Fohoko worked his ass off from PS to roster, to cut to PS to , I hope roster ! Thing is Rice has looked pretty good in camp, and he's caught pretty much every thing Herbert threw him! So its a tough situation!
I like going over the rules and procedures, but I have a very detailed and specific question that will improve the info on the podcast if you answer it. I do not know the answer but have my own best guess. Technically, are you claiming the PLAYER or the CONTRACT? So, if you want the player but at a lower cost, you have to decline the option at waiver wire time, and then negotiate a lower cost contract if the player contract clears waivers, meaning no team claims his contract and thus he becomes a completely unrestricted free agent.

I am confused by this post. I understand the beginning of the premise regarding Patterson cut or not decision referring to his ability to provide Returner snaps, but why are you talking about Khalil (Edge/OLB) Mack and QB Justin Herbert? He had worse #'s than Stick and didn't play that well in pre-season. I'd try to get either Huntley or Winston. They've both been starters and can actually win ganes, unlike Stick
Andrew, I'm surprised, the Dolphins, didn't at least, get a 7th round pick for Mike White. His play has been trash with the Dolphins. NOTHING like what he showed when he was with the Jets. Still, he would be an upgrade over, what, the Chargers got now. I know, that is sad. Heck, I wish Miami would have traded him to the Chargers, for, Andrew Farmer (DE), and 2025 7th round pick.

I wonder when the chargers pundits will start having different opinions instead of regurgitating the same stupid takes everybody else is. No, we aren't getting (nor should we) Tyler Huntly or any other third rate backup
Lions cut Nate Sudfeld.Not sure how good he is?
Cut: Eboigbee (easily replaceable talent and doesn't have necessary athletism to develop) and keep both Jefferson and Woods. We need 4 good safeties since safties are in LB roles frequently). Woods' speed is really flashing at CB where he s/h been all along. If necessary, Patterson can probably clear waivers if the team needs the spot (probably to avoid cutting Rice). Positions to replace: Backup QB and center (either trade or cut player). Not sure who might go to IR. Obviously, cut Stick if you need a roster position for an IR guy.
Linemen of the NFL can take up to 3 years of added physical development though it has been trending to shorter times over the decades. The mere fact of choosing him in Round 4 over some very talented and available #4 round players (review the Eric Edholm comment on NFL Draft Tracker) seems to belay your draft whiff conclusion. But I was also surprised, not shocked, by his selection as our DL is a very known weak area. I look for BIG draft investment here in 2025.
