    I have been on a GLP1 for 6 months. I've lost 20 lbs but I take all the supplements they speak of here including creatine, electrolyte powder, vitamins and I follow a high protein diet. I also lift weights 2-3 times per week and walk every day. I have lost more fat than muscle and now I am only losing fat. My face looks good, no ozempic face here. It has been a game changer for this peri-menopausal woman. Thanks for the content. Love you guys.

    Last year I lost 40lbs within 2 months and didn't take any drugs or supplements. I had multiple people ask me if I was sick and even one person asked me if I had cancer. I think the faster you lose weight the worse you look. Slow and steady is the best way.

    When I was restricting, my hair stylist told me that my hair was starting to feel brittle and dry. She told me to eat more eggs, nuts, and avocados. At the time, I was afraid of getting fat but I was more afraid of losing my hair, so I started eating. Thankfully I was able to stop the damage in time because the next time I saw her, she said my hair looked great again.

    As someone who lost 100lbs in a year with loose skin on the lower abdomen, I have a different theory. I think the amount of time it’s been stretched for plays a significant factor no one talks about. A pregnant woman that stretches it for 9-months compared to say me who had that excess weight for 5 years, I believe plays a big part in whether or not it goes back.

      @@audrey3042 Kinda makes sense right, if you inflate and deflate a balloon relatively quickly you don’t see much, but leave it inflated over days and then see what happens

      Perhaps, but overall I think it has more to do with how much your skin is stretching (aka how much weight you're gaining/losing). Pregnant women gain 25-40 lbs on average, not over 100. I gained about 25-27 with all 3 pregnancies and I never got stretchmarks/my skin never stretched beyond repair, but many women who gain 40+ do indeed end up with loose skin they are stuck with, I see it all the time in my pregnancy and mom groups. Also, as you age your skin loses elasticity, so younger people will have an easier time than older people with their skin bouncing back, just something to consider.

      @@katiepowell28 Yeah for sure I agree with what you said, but my point was everyone talks about that already and not necessarily the length of time its been stretched for.
      I also lost that weight when I was 21 and it didn't change much at all (30 now), so I really think it depends on other things more too.

      This is meant for diabetes not weight loss .. they need to stop prescribing ozempic to non diabetics

    This peptide is so scary to me. I overtrained and under eat for so long, my metabolism is just tanked. I'm almost two years into reverse dieting and resistance training only. I'm a 170 pounds and would love to weigh a 130 but it's just not worth it to me. I'm just gonna keep going the way I am. I don't wanna lose muscle and strength. It's just too important to me. Just gonna keep embracing the struggle regardless.

      How did you fuck your metabolism? Your body stop producing heat like a normal person? That's where most of your calories go. Metabolism is determined by activity and body size. It's likely your appetite that's out of whack. I bet if you counted every single calorie in a day you'd see that is your problem. It's so easy to overeat

      I did crossfit sometimes 5 days a week and only eat 1 meal a day. Or I would eat in a 6 to 4 hour window And still I would sometimes do a 74 hour fast a week. I lost a lot of muscle and gained a lot of body fat. I started having issues with food. I was starving and overeat because I did it that way. But I started watching mine pump and that got me in a better place with food. I have a personal trainer now that sets my macros. I don't look at the scale when I'm getting weighed anymore. I love crossfit because I feel comfortable with a barbell because of it. But Resistance training is my choice of exercise. 3 days a week and 10,000 step a day. My Calories are 1543-1642 with 158 grams of protein a day. When I am counting calories, that is very doable for me. When I'm not counting calories, there's no telling. So yes I agree 👍

      @@veilmontTV The body responds to caloric deficit by reducing the basal metabolism to make it more 'famine resistant'. This is an evolutionary mechanism. It is why people who lose weight on crash diets gain the weight back so quickly when they go back to a more normal calorie intake.

    I’m a 59 year old 5’8” female and have been on a compounded tirzepitide for 9 weeks. I’ve titrated up 2 times and now am on 7.5 mg.
    I started at 160 and as of today, weigh 149. I plan on taking it until I hit my goal of 140.
    I’m basically doing everything that’s suggested in this video- I get a minimum of 100 grams of protein in per day, supplement with a multivitamin, fish oil, and creatine, make a point to take in adequate fiber, and strength train 4x week.
    I’ve noticed a slight decrease in strength, but nothing terrible.
    It’s hard to get in all of the protein with no appetite, so I’ve been supplementing with 1 whey shake per day.
    As a post menopausal woman , I found it difficult to lose weight and am happy with my progress!

    When my kids were little, I had a friend who lost dramatic weight by a liquid diet. We were surprised at how her face had aged due to the loss of fat, collagen and muscle. My kids told me that they liked her better “before”. I never knew whether to tell her they thought she looked better before the weight loss. I’ve lost 50 pounds over about 4 years and I gained muscle since listening to you guys. I’m still dealing with some loose skin. Some of it’s age unfortunately

    I am 56, a type 2 diabetic, and my doctor put me on Mounjaro in December. I lost 35lbs by February. I started a strength training program in early March, and my weight loss stopped. I have maintained my weight since then, but my body composition has changed quite a bit. A friend who is a doctor estimates that I have probably lost another 12-15lbs of fat and gained about that much muscle. No weird, gaunt-looking face here. I do supplement with protein powder and creatine. Also, the appetite suppression was less intense after I started training, too. It still works but I do want to eat more than I did before I started my program.

    I love listening to you guys. I've been on Semaglutide for the last 8 months and lifting with bulking / bodybuilding style. I've gone from 316lbs @ 29% body fat. I'm currently 259lbs and 17% bodyfat. I've always been a gym body, but since my age gap has gone up losing body fat has been difficult. I have learned so much from you all, it's insane. You turned me onto Semaglutide and it was the difference. If you do it right and still track macros the changes can be remarkable. Thanks again for the motivation to get this done... the right way. By the way... im staying strong. Pushed 5 x 5 on incline @ 315lbs.

    I had been on Wegovy for 14 months and only lost 15 pounds, BUT my body composition is so much better. I really focused on my training, nutrition and aimed for my protein intake-and for sure I take all my supplements to cover any holes in my diet. Diabetes does run in my family, and I did notice when I started this med I have a more stable glucose level and it reduced my anxiety to eat. I have switched to Zepbound, which I prefer because I don’t have the negative side effects as I did on Wegovy.

    Lazy people will always sacrifice overall health for a quick fix. Been retired from Army for 5 years I am finally able to get back to gym and lost 30lbs but i feel so much stronger.

      This is not for lazy people this is for people who have medical problems that need help. You still have to do the work. I eat more calories now on trazepitide and have lost 40 lbs lost fat and have actually gained muscle because I did it with the right support I workout daily and mostly concentrate on protein. I was on the calories on calories out train for years with no results some people need the help.

      This drug was designed for people with medical issues esp type 2 diabetes. People are now taking the drug for reasons not intended, for these people it could be a quick fix. Some women have issues with hormones that prevent weight loss. Life is not black and white.

      How judgmental of you. Among my many weight loss patients, not one of them is obese because of laziness. In fact, most of them are completely burned out from doing too much.

    I love that you guys are doing the research and sharing information but I can’t help but be oppose to the drugs or the surgeries for weight loss.
    I spent most of my life very overweight and I really just needed to get my head right and resolve the issues that were driving my impulsive behaviors around eating.

    I have Type I diabetes. Insulin Resistance as it's called is not a resistance to insulin it's an inability to produce enough insulin to deal with the excessive glucose in your blood. Now as a Type I I can't really by any more or less insulin resistant. I have to look at my blood sugar and my carbs to calculate how much insulin I need. Any consumable like aspartame that 'apparently causes insulin resistance' when I consume it, on a baseline of an empty stomach and fasting, it causes my body whether through ketoacidosis or what to dump glucose into my blood (A HYPERGLYCEIMIC REACTION). I have a dexcom so I can see this in real time. And it just shoots up and then I take the normal calculations of insulin to counteract it. And I guarantee that's what's happening for everyone, it's a poorly studied thing and I have been able to correct it by not consuming these things. But it's not 'increased insuling resistance' it's an increased amount of glucosamine being dumped into my blood stream because the amount of insulin I have to take to correct remains constant.
    I'm working on collecting the data points to do a video on this, but medical interventions for consumerism-caused-medical-disfunction is a trap. This is all bullshit that ignores the sources of the problems.

    I listened to this twice. I was due to go on Ozempic. Now I won’t. I know I am able to do this without it. What I got from this was I can be thin at the risk of being malnourished, (though I know there are greater risks to it too) so I’m going to try and be nourished and gradually bring my weight down. I totally understand why some would go on GLP1’s so im so pleased you have them advise too and you aren’t demonizing them.

    I read about it, watched multiple fitness experts, read books, and then started only after being consistent with strength training for two weeks before starting semaglutide. Dexa says minus 12 pounds of fat, plus 6 pounds of muscle. I'm 48. Not bad for 8 weeks. Still have more to go.

    For those saying this is a “quick fix” or a “lazy persons way” of weight loss, that’s not true for everyone. Please don’t generalize. I’ve battled my weight since a full hysterectomy for years and have done it all with minimal weight loss, until now.

      ⁠There is absolutely an indication for using these meds with metabolic syndrome/pre-diabetes. These folks are also at high risk for end-organ damage.

    10:15 your weight is just a number on the scale. It's the wrong metric to concentrate on. Bodycomposition is so much more important. Weightloss in itself is not necessarily healthy, actually the older you're the more problematic it is, because you're losing muscle if you don't counteract the process.

    Loved this and the points raised. I would say from experience and others I know and have witnessed over the years; loose skin can retract slightly but this weighs heavily on many factors. Some have firmer skin that can pull back in easier so that would be based on genetics. However, length of time and severity of the stretch is a huge factor. Someone that had their skin on any body part more than just one or two inches of hang, no longer has the potential to retract back in especially if it has been in that state for long periods of time. This normally would happen to people who have more than approx 80 or less pounds to lose. For those that have much more to lose time given to lose the weight won’t necessarily mean that the skin will still retract to its original state. For example: A person who is 400 lbs and has belly hang to their knees, won’t be able to shrink their skin back because they lose weight slower.

    AGE is also a HUGE factor with loose skin!! I’m 5’11 & delivered 3 kids in 3 yrs while in my 20’s. I had no loose skin when I lost the weight. Then I gained the same amount of weight while on steroids for cancer treatment. There was an ENORMOUS DIFFERENCE when I lost the weight 15yrs later, & I’ve lifted & ate healthy the entire time!!
    You already mentioned, but fat consumed/oils applied to skin, protein, hydration, genetics, & total inches lost make huge differences in how much loose skin a person has.
    Inches lost, whether from fat or muscle, also influence skins integrity. HYDRATION influences skin elasticity. FATS (consumed & oils applied to skin) affect skin elasticity. You covered genetics & elapsed time well.

    The guy in the middle was wrong when he said GLP-1 acts as an insulin sensitizer. GLP-1 is also sometimes called GLIP-1 (glucagon-like insulinotropic peptide). The word insulinotropic refers to its primary effect, which is to tell the pancreas to release insulin in response to food intake. Thus GLP-1 helps type II diabetics to overcome their insulin resistance by promoting insulin secretion but only in response to increased blood glucose (the cells in the small intestine that release GLP-1 only release it when glucose levels are above normal baseline level).

    My weight has stayed the same, at 89 kg / 196 lb at 6ft 1 for the past couple of weeks. But I’ve been in a caloric deficit. My clothes also don’t feel looser. If anything certain shirts are tighter on the chest but loose around the abdomen. My waist hasn’t got smaller either. Any advice?

    This was so interesting! This also explains why when I was vegan without supplementing and on a super low calorie restriction for years my skin was dry and flaky, my hair and hails were brittle, and mentally wasn’t my best.

    So my buddy started tirzepatide about a week after Adam started. His diet was pretty dialed and balanced but he went in with no gym. So now he's on I think week 6 and is down about 30lbs which is crazy. At first he said that his energy was fine and everything looked good. But now it's week 6, he says his energy is down and he got a dexa scan thinking it was going to say somewhere between 15%-20% body fat. He was shocked to find he's at almost 27% body fat! He showed me a pic and he is just that classic skinny fat look. So he went from 6' 210lbs to 180lbs. I bet 50% of his weight loss is muscle. His initial goal was to get to between 170-180lbs but now he's thinking 150-160 to get to a decent fat percentage. So the point of my story is that protein and gym are essential to being on this drug. My stuff is in the mail and I've decided that while I'm on it I am going to make myself hit at least 120g of protein per day and I am going to go through MAPS anabolic twice while on it. I am guessing I'll still have muscle loss but I'm scared to death now of losing 20+lbs of muscle on this thing.

      All it does is suppress your appetite making it easier to stay in a calorie deficit for a cut, hit your protein target and make sure you’re not going too low in daily calories. You will need discipline to actually get your protein and calories in that’s all. Hope it goes well 💪🏻

    Ozempic has been doing very good things for my 81 year old diabetic mother. Dropping her sugar levels way down most importantly. But also dropping the weight as well as a nice kind of side effect. She has talked about how little she eats now.

    3.5 months on Mounjaro. Down 70 lbs but ive probably gained 5-10 lbs of muscle. First 20 came off in 2 weeks and mostly just water. Im on TRT and high fat high protein diet lower carb. My body has fat adapted. Im now in gym 4 days + a week. Ive gained alot of muscle!. I dont even look at scale although i do have more fat to lose and i go by the belt holes. Slow and steady.
    This drug in not for people to lose 25 lbs. Its for very obese people as a life saving measure or type 2. If you excercise, supplement right, up your protein this drug will change your life! But you have to change mentally. It allows you to eat to live, not live to eat!

    I saw a report weeks ago warning about saggy butt with Ozympic. That's the only problem I don't have, so it didn't appeal to me even though I am severely obese.🤣 I don't have serious health issues...yet or I might consider it.

      It’s the same thing as “diet face”. It’s not the medicine that gives you that face, it’s just loosing weight quickly. If you loose weight slowly 1 to 2 pounds a week max then apparently this won’t happen. You can look up dermatologists here on TH-cam that explain this further

    I actually think the part about the vitamin d deficiency is pretty important because it's one of the most common vitamin deficiencies that causes people to not only gain weight but slows down or stalls the ability to lose weight at all even with a healthy diet. No joke you guys Go to your doctor and check to see if you have a vitamin d deficiency because this might be the reason why it's hard for you to lose weight.
    I apparently had a vitamin d deficiency for years and didn't know about it and when I went on vitamin d supplements the weight started dropping off like it was nothing and I didn't change nothing in my diet whatsoever, I was still eating a healthy diet just as before but now my body was finally dropping the extra fat like magic.

    12:01 nope. To have a young face, you don't need fat in the face. Fat in the face more often than not is a sign of systemic inflammation.
    You need COLLAGEN to look young, 'cos that makes your skin tight without fat or inflammation. Collagen production ability decreases with age, that's why old people have sagging skin. If you provide your body with easy to assemble constiuents, it will better keep up with the production. That's another reason why a species specific, species appropriate human diet is necessary for you to thrive.
