    We cruise out of Canaveral in about 29 days. Last time I took a cruise was in 2001 and 2002 both on Carnival (Triumph then Victory) and both out of Miami. Back then, you walked into the terminal and waited in a long line, but as soon as you were checked in and went through security (that was long at all) you walked straight on the ship and you could go straight to your cabin. Our online check in is coming up around the 4th and I will be picking a later arrival time

    …I’ve been reading up on many people debating online about when they actually allow you to drop off your luggage even with purchased FTTF. It’s giving me so much anxiety. Hah! I want to bring all of our luggage on the ship to drop off; but many are adamant that they were told by personnel they weren’t allowed UNTIL 1:30! Any thoughts or suggestions?

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much. Sure, i can explain that. If you mean dropping your luggage off at the terminal early. This can be done as early as 9am no matter what your check in time is. If you mean dropping your luggage off in the room after you board the ship. This is absolutely a perk of FTTF, but they ask that you just drop bags and go if before 130 and not hang out in the room. Without FTTF or being platinum or diamond, people are not supposed to go to their room for any reason prior to 130, but people sometimes do.

      A birth cert and driver's license is fine for most cruises, carnival will warn you before booking if not. Only a few countries require one in the Caribbean like Columbia and Panama.
      You will have to show your id and birth cert once when you first enter the line at the terminal for check in and then when leaving the ship at the end of the cruise, that is about it.

    How does embarkation go for people that are disabled and the cruise line uses one of their wheel chairs to board those people? Like do they board those people later than others, sooner, also do they have a different entrance than the gangway? Having to get pushed up the gangway works be a tough job for those workers.

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      HI, you board at the same time as everyone else in your class. Diamond, platinum, FTTF or standard boarding, but they take you up the elevator and that means you skip some of the gangway, but there is still quite a bit of gangway to traverse after that and they will provide an attendant to get you on the ship. You do use the same entrance as everyone else and yes, i be it is a tough push, but i suspect they are used to it.

    • @allgoodontheroad

      When you board the ship, there is no difference between passport or birth cert. The process would be the same, but when you exit the ship returning home, there will be two lines. The birth certificate line will be much slower, passport line is facial recognition, just smile and go.
      Here are the requirements for Birth cert.
      The following are acceptable:
      An original or copy of a birth certificate issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I used to say it was very worth it, but I am not so sure anymore after the price increase. First, if you want to show up to the port early and check in earlier than your assigned check in time, you can show up as early as 9am with FTTF and John Heald has confirmed recently that this is not changing. Then you get the perk of boarding right after platinum, so this gets you on the ship a little earlier, but not a lot earlier, maybe 30 minutes. Those are really the big perks. Then once on the ship you get to drop your luggage off in your room, but last year FTTF included immediate room acces upon boarding, but that is gone. You do still get a priority line at guest services and priority debarkation. In my opinion all this is well worth 50 or maybe a little more, but the current price for a seven day cruise is pushing 150. I still might buy it for a first cruise though.

    I am a Platinum member but my friends who are in a different cabin are not, so, since we are traveling together, can I bring my friends into the Platinum and Diamond lounge?

      Sorry, no, they do not allow this unless they are booked in your cabin.

    Maybe its just me but I found the instructions for checking in 14 days prior to your sailing date to be slightly confusing. It actually sounds like you are saying for people to come to the port after midnight on the day before they leave. You did not use the words - Check-in on-line which I think would be helpful. Otherwise - a great informational video.

      Random? Like blue cards getting on the ship before Diamonds. Betsy fetch my clutching pearls!

      Priority booking has been earned. I do disagree with Faster to the Fun, but the Platinums and Diamonds have earned that right, and the Suites pay enough extra to deserve that perk as well.
