    We cruise out of Canaveral in about 29 days. Last time I took a cruise was in 2001 and 2002 both on Carnival (Triumph then Victory) and both out of Miami. Back then, you walked into the terminal and waited in a long line, but as soon as you were checked in and went through security (that was long at all) you walked straight on the ship and you could go straight to your cabin. Our online check in is coming up around the 4th and I will be picking a later arrival time

    Thank you for this video! It was quite informative! My husband and I will be going on our first cruise in a few months.
    …I’ve been reading up on many people debating online about when they actually allow you to drop off your luggage even with purchased FTTF. It’s giving me so much anxiety. Hah! I want to bring all of our luggage on the ship to drop off; but many are adamant that they were told by personnel they weren’t allowed UNTIL 1:30! Any thoughts or suggestions?

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much. Sure, i can explain that. If you mean dropping your luggage off at the terminal early. This can be done as early as 9am no matter what your check in time is. If you mean dropping your luggage off in the room after you board the ship. This is absolutely a perk of FTTF, but they ask that you just drop bags and go if before 130 and not hang out in the room. Without FTTF or being platinum or diamond, people are not supposed to go to their room for any reason prior to 130, but people sometimes do.

  • @charliev6466

    Great video. Just need to clarify one thing for me. We are FTTF on our next cruise. When we check in on line and we happen to get a late check in time, being FTTF can we get in doors (10-1030) ish regardless of our appointment time on our board pass? Can we just go in the priority line and begin the process? thanks,

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, you can. FTTF may join the priority line anytime after the terminal opens at 910am.

    How does embarkation go for people that are disabled and the cruise line uses one of their wheel chairs to board those people? Like do they board those people later than others, sooner, also do they have a different entrance than the gangway? Having to get pushed up the gangway works be a tough job for those workers.

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      HI, you board at the same time as everyone else in your class. Diamond, platinum, FTTF or standard boarding, but they take you up the elevator and that means you skip some of the gangway, but there is still quite a bit of gangway to traverse after that and they will provide an attendant to get you on the ship. You do use the same entrance as everyone else and yes, i be it is a tough push, but i suspect they are used to it.

  • @hellsing1013
    @hellsing1013 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Our departure time is 5pm. If we arrived at 3:45pm do you think that will be enough time to board the ship? My wife works until 2:45pm that day and didn’t approve her day off request.

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, i think that is too late. First, you must check in 60 minutes prior to departure and that is cutting it really close, but there will also be a final boarding time printed on your boarding pass, you cannot arrive after that time and they are strict about that time. Sounds like you may have no choice though, i really hope you make it.

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, you have the option of checking luggage, carrying on luggage, or both. I often check a big bag and carry on a small bag that i could not do without. Also, your checked luggage often does not arrive until after 5, so you might want toiletries, a bathing suit, or dinner clothes carried on with you.

    If I would like to Carry all my luggage with me when do I have access to my room? Will I carry my luggage all day? Also I do not have a passport, is a birth certificate and a regular drivers license okay ? When do they check your drivers license and birth certificate?

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you Isabelle, this are great questions that i will need to address in a video, but let me also answer them here.
      Rooms are available at 130pm and unfortunately you are expected to lug your carryons around with you until then. You will not be alone in this though.
      A birth cert and driver's license is fine for most cruises, carnival will warn you before booking if not. Only a few countries require one in the Caribbean like Columbia and Panama.
      You will have to show your id and birth cert once when you first enter the line at the terminal for check in and then when leaving the ship at the end of the cruise, that is about it.
      Thank you

    • @allgoodontheroad
      @allgoodontheroad  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I used to say it was very worth it, but I am not so sure anymore after the price increase. First, if you want to show up to the port early and check in earlier than your assigned check in time, you can show up as early as 9am with FTTF and John Heald has confirmed recently that this is not changing. Then you get the perk of boarding right after platinum, so this gets you on the ship a little earlier, but not a lot earlier, maybe 30 minutes. Those are really the big perks. Then once on the ship you get to drop your luggage off in your room, but last year FTTF included immediate room acces upon boarding, but that is gone. You do still get a priority line at guest services and priority debarkation. In my opinion all this is well worth 50 or maybe a little more, but the current price for a seven day cruise is pushing 150. I still might buy it for a first cruise though.

      Carnival highly recommends that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel unless otherwise noted differently.
      Domestic Cruises
      Non-U.S. Citizens are required to carry a valid, unexpired passport and a Multiple Entry Visa, if applicable. In addition, guests must contact the appropriate embassy or consulate of the countries they will be visiting for specific travel documentation requirements. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of Immigration requirements.
      Visa Waiver Program (VWP): Non-U.S. citizens that are eligible to apply for admission under the Visa Waiver Program must have a valid, unexpired machine readable passport that includes specified security features (biometric identifiers). In addition, travelers are required to have an electronic travel authorization via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).
