I'm a few days late to the party, but I just wanted to say congrats on the good tournament and I really enjoyed watching the recaps :) I follow a few chess channels and your recaps are definitely the funniest, props to you and your editor!
New sub here. Thanks for the recaps! It was really interesting to get to follow you through a tournament (with all the highs and lows). Especially about how hard bad beats can be 😥 ...that video totally broke my heart. Honestly learned a lot as someone who hasn't yet tried OTB tournament chess. But atleast you got to destroy some kids along the way, lmao. Cheers!
Not a twitch guy, so if you want me to see you…. lol - TH-cam. This the 2nd time you dropped a video while I was watching the previous one -that’s fun. Yt vids? Bring a camera when you’re crying at the zoo? 😂 IDK. Keep posting, and I’ll watch. I like interesting chess ppl. It’s sports entertainment.
That's so bizarre, but kids are weird like that. If they know something, they know it perfectly. If they don't, they're a giant crevasse with no bottom. Lulla apparently found his knowledge. She's also learning how all the top engines have destroyed the French Defense. Time to go back to the drawing board to figure out the French or how to avoid the worst parts of this stuff. Thank you for all the recaps.
Stockfish likes the French and beat Alpha Zero with it. None of that matters if you are less than 3500 elo, of course… I do sometimes have a sneaking suspicion that the Winawer may not be totally sound - like you swap off your good bishop and allow white to ruin your kingside :).
Don't beat yourself up too much about it. That ...g5 resource was completely counterintuitive giving up your kingside pawn structure (and pawns). You did well this tournament and there always comes a time where you start to reevaluate your opening choices after a couple of sad losses, we've all been there.
Dang, that kid really did play extremely accurately. Yeah that knight on d6 is probably stronger than a rook in value. The kid identified this and used his bishop to cover f5 so you are never able to comfortably exchange his knight. They will definitely get above 2000 quickly, I am curious how they lost to the 1500 lol maybe prep or blunder
Don’t limit yourself to what people want to see.. do what you want and your true audience will like it. The most important thing is to be authentic and true to yourself.. winning or losing, on or off the board.. and in every aspect of your life. For streaming platforms, do both at the same time, twitch and YT. For haters, block them to hell. Best of luck.. and you look gorgeous.
How the hell is he only 1842???? If this was an online game I would be questioning this ie potentialy using an engine, he played well over 2100 in this game, strange how he played like this, then loses to a 1500??? Very strange indeed.
Rough. Playing those wunderkind kids is the worst who are drilled, drilled, drilled into perfect technique. One advantage of my chess club taking place in a 21+ bar! That cramped classical French position is one of the reasons I don't play the French. Can't stand fighting against that central pawn wedge. I think I'd play Winawer or die trying!

Thanks and welcome! Tournament chess is a whole other beast than playing online… try it sometime 😉
Tough game but a great tournament from you, well done! 🎊
The gosh darned 94% accuracy child strikes again. Thank you for the recaps!
Can you believe they let children play a game about war?
Its not over!!!

Not sure how it could be possible, so probably isn't, but I would still contact a certain WC and request the procedure lol
Is the French Defense good for a beginner?
it’s better than the caro-kann
@@lularobs How about the 1. e5, d5 2. e × d5, Nf6 ( Modern Scandinavian Defense )
Please listen to your lovely editor and look more into the camera! It felt like you were avoiding eye contact. p.s. love your work
Bro I am avoiding eye contact

I kind of agree about g5… it’s crazy to leave h and f undefended so I totally missed it

Yeah he just totally schooled me there

Yeah he played a perfect game! It can happen :) but also he never left the board and played very quickly, he genuinely just played his best!

Oh 21+ chess… I could be on board with that
Absolutely no shade. But it's just hilarious how it's so easy to get trounced by an 11yo in chess. You'd have to question your life choices LOL.
Right????? At least he wasn’t any younger 🥲
You are so beautiful and You have such a stunning and attractive cleavage ❤😘😍🤤🥛🍼
bad french endgame...
