I and my family wear glasses and I always use so much cleaner because I am ocd about my glasses being crystal clear 😂 but this is a real money saver and I personally think that this works better than the product in stores.
Hello my friend and hello to the beautiful land of Israel!!! I hope to visit sometime and see the places where my hero’s from the good book is from! And to also meet the people and taste the FOOD!!! Thank you for letting me know that the mix is working well and you bring up a very good point! Use the proper cloth specially made for glasses. Thank you for that.
Great question! In my experience I want to say yes it does. If it’s a pretty heavy amount of alcohol and if the lens with coating is pretty cheap. I had glasses with AR coating once from Costco and used those individual wrapped lens cleaning packets and after a few uses it took away the coating. Now, I used the same wipes to clean a very expensive lens filter with the same coating with those same wipes and it never did anything to it. So I think if a cleaner is made with a small amount of alcohol and with more water in the mix, I feel I can trust it more than buying one from the outside. If you’re not really sure about using a cleaner with alcohol in the mix I would just clean with water and micro fiber cloth.
I purchased 4 Lens & Frame Cleaner spray Bottles from Lenscrafters. I gave away one bottle to my brother. I have one last bottle left with 50 % liquid left. I need to buy some more soon to clean my glasses or they become very dirty. I also need the liquid spray to clean my ipad and electronics.
I’m the same way. I need to have a cleaner with me and clean my lenses and glasses (reading and sunglasses). I stopped buying spray cleaners since I learned how to make my own. It definitely saves money over time.
If it is too much alcohol yes it can eventually take away coating over time. I also sometimes use what they call a “lens pen”. It’s basically carbon material that takes away oil or smudge from the lens.
I use 70% ethyl rubbing alcohol. I only use the 3 ounce bottles to make my solution. I only pour to fill 25% of alcohol in a bottle and the rest water. You don’t want to use too much alcohol I had a bad experience using more than 30%.
He used 70% isopropyl alcohol. Not ethanol (aka ethyl alcohol ), not methanol, but I suppose all 3 are ok, but careful with methanol as it can cause blindness.
With isopropyl, if it’s a 100 percent alcohol I think it will dissolve more quickly once you spray in your glasses/lens due to the high concentration. I’m no scientist and have not tried 100 percent yet and only have I used the 70 percent (already mixed with water) to use on my solution. If you are using 100 percent, maybe lessen the alcohol ratio unless you want something really strong. Just be careful using it that it may strip any chemical coatings in glasses or camera lenses.
Alcohol is a pretty strong liquid that cuts through oils and grease. If the mixture is just soap and water it wouldn’t really clean the lens on the glasses and probably would just leave a slight haze. That’s because there’s not enough soap added to the mixture. If soap and water is what you want to only use, you would have to add more soap to the mix but you will end up with suds and would have to rinse the glasses under running water each time, like washing dishes after dinner. I hope this helps.
@charliechamporado454 well ty for that explanation honestly.. I'm reading the comments and some are just so negative is why I asked again ty for detail reply happy Halloween and merry Christmas to you

This is the same solution I have been using for several years now……… Works great
Yes it does! I learned this mix 27 years ago and never tried anything else.
Just made this salutation. Most of the family wears glasses. Works great.❤❤
Distilled water, witch hazel, a dash of hand soap will work much better and not damage coatings over time.
Good to know
What is the ratio of these fluids?
@@peterhalyckyj1588 1/3 alcohol, 2/3 water, 3 drops of dishsoap (some use handsoap).
Thanks from Israel...i just finished one i bought.... filled it up with these three ingredients so simple...waiting for more❤❤

Doesnt alcohol remove the coating for the lenses?

Glad I could help!
Can alcohol damage the lens coatings?

Is this ok to use on transition lens? Will it not damage the lens?
Great question! To be honest, I do not know. Anyone here has transition lenses and did it affect it? Please let us know.
THANKS MY MAN
No problem, E!
Bro what kind of alcohol, what percentage ?

Why alcohol on them and not just soap and wzter what does the alcohol do? Ty

Thank u brother, idk what I expected tbh but I guess I just didn't expect to have all the ingredients lol
You’re welcome!
What percentage alcohol are you using? 50%, 70%, 90%?
I always use 70% alcohol.
Greetings, What's the size of spray bottle (in millilitres please)? Awaiting your reply please
MIRZA KALEEM
Hello! It’s 94.6 ml.
@@charliechamporado454 Cheers 👍
What’s the percentage of alcohol?
My guesstimate would be 30% alcohol and 70% water. Then there’s the small amount of liquid detergent
Tap water?
I use tap water in my mixes.
@@charliechamporado454 thank you
Thanks
No Problem!
Alcohol is a big no for transition glasses
What to use ?
I've tried 10s of recipes of cleaning solutions and 35 percent of absolute alcohol and water was the best.
Is it 75% alcohol or pure alcohol?
I use alcohol that is only 75%. I wouldn’t use 100%.
Use 70% isopropyl works better
Barely need a drop of hand soap
