My dad is graduating his with PhD this graduation season and he sited this album in his document that’s how powerful this album was. A 45 year old, African Zulu man mentioned a K-pop band in his PhD. It wasn’t a deep dive but it helped him in his research.

#Jimin said in one of their earlier concerts said that "In the beginning, I waa not impressive. I have become to what I am today because of the help of my members, these amazing people. BTS is amazing, is'nt it?"
When BTS were asked by Jimmy Fallon in their online inteerview during the pandemic what to him is secret of success, #Jin answered, "Choose to be with good (genuinely nice) people."
When asked why BTS are the best performer, #Suga said, "Because we (BTS) are good. BTS practice alot for ARMY to make them happy and proud [of themselves] for coming to see/watch BTS show].
JHope once said said that he is proud of his Team and thankful that no one in the team would complain at work.
#V also said that struggling (difficult situation) is not very hard when you are sorrounded with truly concerned people who is willing to walk with you at such time.
#Namjoon once said that "If I am the best leader for BTS, it is because the members make it easy for me become the best leader."
#JK once said, "You (BTS) all brought me up. I was only 15 when I joined BTS and you were all kind (considerate) to me. Thank you for taking good care of me."
#BTS are genuinely good people and have certainly evolved into amazing, caring, intelligent and intellectual people.

This is so timely. I am the youngest of 4 & will be turning 58 soon. We were all talking last week & they wanted to know what I wanted to do for my 60th birthday in early 2026. I am figuring BTS will be doing their reunion tour by then & said I wanted to go to a concert. I'm pretty sure I could feel some eye rolling😁. Anyway, I mentioned I wouldn't waste this much time on a group unless they were worth it.
MofS:7 is what made me a full blown ARMY. I spent the early covid lockdowns reading the various MV comment sections & reactors' analyses. I was almost more blown away by the intellectual & respectful discussions happening than by the music itself! I knew I found my people🙂. All because of an extraordinarily talented group of young men over 1/2 my age from the other side of the world.
Thank you for making a video that I can share with them to explain what makes them so special to me 🙏💜... whether they will take the time to watch is another story...😄
... as far as The Rose... that was another covid lockdown discovery for me. They are another group that I really am growing to enjoy more & more. Haven't fallen down the rabbit hole yet, but have been circling it & peaking into it for a while😄!

I love this post. I am 71 and historically a progressive rock metal music person, so my friends and family are stupefied by my obsession with this group. I was amazed myself. LOL. But yes... it is the message and depth of their creations that keep me entranced.

Yes!! Same here. I fell in love with them after finding them on my PS4 VR Game Beat Saber during the shutdown. That's one of the things that makes me so angry about the covid hysteria is it took away there a map of the Soul 7 tour. It would have been explosive! It is my favorite album of theirs and I got every one of them during the lockdown. I watched every video I could of them. Thousands of hours and I still watch them everyday. I'm 59. In America. This album was brilliant. Me and both of my grandsons now are 100% Army. During the lockdown with all my albums that I got of them which is about 8 or 9 of them I took the picture books and made Christmas tree ornaments out of the pictures and I have a little tiny fake tree with colored lights on it and all their ornaments on it that I leave up all year long. I adore them. They kept/keep me sane in an insane world. The lyrics are excellent in touch everybody worldwide. Bless you sister. ❤💜 I also found The Rose last year and if you haven't checked them out they are amazing also.

Thanks for sharing your stories. I’m 67 and saw SUGA on Jimmy Fallon. My oldest granddaughter is ARMY and has been for a long time, so I worried when I found out their conscription. I fell hard after seeing JK and his Golden album releases. I have fallen down the bunny hole, lol more like dove head first, since then. I love hearing all of the reactions, analysis, and raves. We need more ppl like them.

@@ghyslainemichaud9978 🥀🖤 💜 I love The Rose and fell in love with them last year when I luckily got one of their videos in my feed. Wow. Woosung is amazing, he has many albums out by himself while his brothers were serving in the military. I love him by himself and also with the rose and I'm so glad to see them just getting bigger and bigger. I have their last two albums and Duel is my favorite. I wish I could get their older albums but I am in America and can't get them so I settle on my playlists of their older stuff. I will be adding their picture ornaments that I made off of their picture books from their albums to my BTS tree.💜🖤🥀 BTS & THE ROSE are the sons I never had😁❤ their stories and their Journeys so amazing and heartwarming it just warms my soul.

I really looked into BTS from Map of the Soul as I'm degree was in Psychology and I've learnt were my thoughts, emotion's, responses stem from. So when I found the Map of Soul Album it made me smile and realise just how much these 7 young men are willing to dive into their own lives, experiences and though processes and recognise where their actions and though's come from. Intrespection is key recognising behaviour patterns, and where they stem from and learning to accept we are all works in progress, learning along the way and learning to new ways of seeing things and living in harmony with ourselves accepting our selves.

I just subscribed to your channel because of this video. Excellent overview of Jung’s theory and how it is represented in the Map of the Soul 7 album. I have my Masters in Clinical Psychology, and this is spot on. When I was 12, I experienced very traumatic physical injuries due to being hit by a car. This led to 19 surgeries in 6 years (I have had a total of 37 now). According to Erik Erickson, a developmental psychologist, the period between ages 12 and 18 is when you form your self image. Mine was formed around being seen as a hero for bravely going through these surgeries with a good attitude. This became my persona.
As a 20 year old, I couldn’t hide my shadow self anymore which encompassed all my fears and sorrow that I had suppressed for 8 years. I was afraid to show people this negative side of myself, fearful that I would be rejected. I had Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. I underwent intensive counseling and I was finally able to embrace my shadow, my sorrow, as a part of me thus gradually overcoming PTSD. The Persona and Shadow were merged with my Ego.
I only shared my experience because I feel it really demonstrates or illustrates the structures that Jung had outlined. Every person does go through this, and Erik Erickson described the 20’s as the trying 20’s. The beautiful and deep lyrics of BTS really helps young people, and older ones like me, understand and accept one’s true self. I think then it is a process of learning to be one’s authentic self with others. This becomes the beautiful journey of life. It’s not perfect, but embracing the imperfect leads to self acceptance.

I am reading the book by Murray Stein that has the podcasts in it and more. It breaks down each song and makes Jung more approachable to the average person. The name of the book is “Map of the Soul 7- Persona, Shadow, & Ego in the World of BTS”.
Apparently RM and Suga were seen with one of Stein’s more technical books regarding the teachings of Yung. A student told Stein about BTS and his book. The same student later told him about MOTS Persona and sounds like he jumped into the rabbit hole and was ready for MOTS 7.
So far it has given me even more respect for their music.

    Jung is pronounced Yung.
Also there is a series of podcasts done by Laura London with Murray Stein. You can find them if you search 'Speaking of Jung'.
They discuss every song in detail and also talk about bts as a group. Murray stein provides a lot of insights about the concepts.
Murray Stein of course being the author of Jung's Map of the Soul. I mean hearing stuff about bts straight from the author of the book their album is based on is a huge deal.
Murray Stein also later wrote 3 short books analysing BTS'S music.

Thank you for this comment. I appreciate knowing about the podcast and the books.
For those wondering, I went to look them up, and the books are called:

Map of the Soul - Shadow: Our Hidden Self
Map of the Soul - Ego: I Am

Thank you for the reference to the podcasts! I am listening to them now. It is so important to really understand what an incredible job BTS has done with MOTS, not just to understand the complexity of the subject matter as explained by Jung, but to apply it to their own situation, and then to do so with such authenticity, poetry and lyricism. I am beyond awed by the sheer depth and intelligence of these young men….

THIS is what sets BTS apart from other Kpop groups. Their song lyrics spark conversation on mental issues, human development, emotions, ambitions, social issues, dreams, struggles etc. that ordinary people can relate. Haters and kpopers couldn't comprehend that it isn't just about the ability to sing and dance (like what SM stans are proud about their faves although I think no kpop group had surpass or at BTS' level in stage performances so far) but substance AND artistry which (i think) more than 90% of kpop groups lack in that aspect.

I even had my first concert tickets that got canceled 😞 But today hearing you go through the thought and emotion of the songs brought me to tears in the best way possible. Realizing at age 50 Bts and their music represents a lifetime of what it means to live and grow up. It's the constant learning and discovering of ourselves and our place in this world. Anyway, the songs that BTS compose have all their experiences and have also dissected an ordinary individual's mind. They do not hide issues if they think it would help others by means of putting it in a song. They should maintain their friendship for it is being one, they have grown, became mature and will always be a positive influencer globally to us..
