Dr Brown's words at 30:00 were very helpful and just what I needed to hear at this moment. Thanks. It's so easy to want to try to hide from God when the flesh is weak.
Thank God, I was listening to historical teachings about the LXX a few days ago and also a few weeks ago, this is very timely and divinely led, I'm certain. And thanks to God's shepherds for serving faithfully, though so few and growing fewer. God bless, beshem Yeshua!
Jesus I seek you everyday. Even when I feel like giving up I will keep faith. As a single mother. I’m struggling to make ends meet. My husband passed years ago. I have no one to turn to but you Lord JESUS. Both of my sons are special needs and require so much from me. Lord I’m afraid. Every month I struggle trying to provide for my children struggling to pay rent and to buy groceries. Lord help me and hear my prayers. Amen. ❤️🔥💕
Im also a single mom also of 2 special needs, now adults, but still dependent. God has always met my desperate needs.I'm so grateful for his strength. Hold on, sister, life is incredibly tough for us, but where else can we go but to Jesus? He's always right on time. Our rewards and support may be few on earth but massive in heaven. Maranatha!
Whether it be the Jewish scholars who translated the texts to the Greek or the later Masoretic schools, it was the Spirit who preserved the message across the millennia. And it is the Spirit who carries the truth into men's hearts.
I believe that both Dr Michael Heiser and Dr James White hold the following position on the order of manuscript authority: 1) Dead Sea Scrolls, 2) Septuagint, then 3) Masoratic text.
It is too simplistic to order these in terms of authority and quite misleading. The Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest documents we have but are a collection. How can they be authoritative if they have different versions? Among the Dead Sea Scrolls, you have some that support the Septuagint, some support the Masoretic text, and some support the Samaritan version. The Dead Sea Scrolls shocked many people because among the Dead Sea scrolls were versions that were practically letter for letter in supporting the Masoretic text. As to the Septuagint, there is much misunderstanding. Many extol the Septuagint because 72 Jewish scholars translated the Bible into Greek years before Jesus and before the Masoretic text. However, the legend of 72 translators independently producing identical translations, even if true, applies only to the First Five Books, the Pentateuch. The rest of the Bible was translated later by others. Additionally, there is much question about the accuracy of the Septuagint. When Jerome was translating the Bible, he noted the various and conflicting versions of the Septuagint and declared the Masoretic text to be tremendously more reliable. As to the Masoretic text, the Masoretes were recording ancient traditions, not inventing something new.
Masoretic Text is a corruption of the Septuagint. The rabbi's translated the Septuagint in a NEW INVENTED language they call Hebrew. The Pharisees were confused and put in the vowels hunderds of years later. The so called dead sea scrolls are ALL forgeries written in block hebrew Script on Vermilion Skins but not Papyrus. People are *still* being deceived by the people Jesus warned us about. Instead of listening to the warnings, "christians" embrace the enemy. Amazing
Oswald Rufeisen (1922-1998), religious name Daniel Maria, was a Polish-born Jew who survived the Nazi invasion of his homeland, in the course of which he converted to Christianity, becoming a Catholic and a friar of the Discalced Carmelites. He sought Israeli citizenship under the Israeli Law of Return, but was refused. However, he moved to Israel as a Carmelite friar, where he spent the rest of his life, and acquired citizenship through naturalization. Source; Wikipedia
The caller who wanted Gentile Messianics to be granted the Right of Return giving automatic Israeli citizenship brings up an interesting related question. Does Dr. Michael Brown agree with the hordes of Gentiles attending Messianic Congregations? In fact, the Messianic Congregations near me are filled almost completely if not 100% with Gentiles. Does Dr. Brown agree with the blurring of Jew and Gentile in these Messianic Congregations? These Gentiles tell me they are "grafted in" as Jews. I thought I knew all the Jews in my small town and then I"ll be surprised to seemingly find a new Jew, even wearing a kippa. However, I"ll find out this person is a Gentile who believes in Jesus but calls himself a Jew because he is a grafted in Messianic. All the old definitions no longer have value. There are now Gentile Messianic Rabbis! I have always appreciated the fact that you, Dr. Michael Brown, don't go around calling yourself a Rabbi.
Since the Septuagint was written by Rabbis from Israel, it is not suprizing that the Apostles of Yeshu'a HaMashiach that read from the same Ivrit Scrolls in the Second Temple that the 72 Rabbis translated into Greek.. The surviving Ivrit texts of the Ivrit Brit Chadashah and the ten mentions of Hebrew, even in our KJV New Testament.
As to the Septuagint, there is much misunderstanding. Many extol the Septuagint because 72 Jewish scholars translated the Bible into Greek years before Jesus and before the Masoretic text. @@stephenfisher3721 true, but it is also possible that later non-believing scholars translating the Septuagint trashed the math in the early genealogies, but preserved other details. Obviously, Israel had all the Temple Scrolls, before destruction of the Temple. The Holy Bible was canonized in 180AD, before the rejection of Jewish Bishops by Constantine. We have 72 surviving manuscripts of the original Ivrit B'rit Chadashah. The Apostles, with the exception of most of the letters of Paul, were written in Ivrit and later translated into Greek. The reorganization of the Tanakh after the 4th Century AD was largely in reaction to the Gospel, with the dismissing of Daniel from the Prophets because of the rabbinical rejection of Yeshu'a HaMashiach. With the recovery of the B'rit Chadashah, we are now able to restore the Holy Bible back to the original 180AD form, Macabbees included.
Ivrit texts of the Ivrit Brit Chadashah? Hebrew texts of the Hebrew New Covenant? Are you saying that the entire New Testament was originally written in Hebrew? This contradicts everything I've read or heard. Are you saying that we have discovered the original Hebrew New Testament written in Hebrew? If so, why doesn't anyone else know about it?
hi dr. brown. are you aware of an almost complete gospels (matt, mark, luk, john) vatican folio #140 written in aramaic copied in edessa under the third bishop and dated to december 15, in the 389th year of the greeks (78 ad); found by joseph simon assemani from the chaldean patriarchate in baghdad and transported to rome. does this still exist in the vatican? because this was ransacked by napoleonic troops and taken to france during the conquest of italy by napoleon. or is it at the louvre, bibliotheque nationale, french archives, or is it lost forever?
This video does not talk much about the Septuagint, but some critical points to note are as follows: 1. The original Septuagint, that was written by the 70 Sages, forced against their will by Ptolemy, where each was put in a separate room and told to translate, was only on the 5 books of Moses, from Genesis to Deuteronomy. The Talmud brings the story. It relates that the Sages saw fit to modify about 15 places that might offend Ptolemy and miraculously each Sage translated the same. 2. These 15 changes are listed in the Talmud with their reasons. The original Septuagint was lost and the version we have today has only a few of these 15 changes in it. 3. Later, through the centuries, this book was added to with other books of the Jewish Scriptures, but authorship is unknown and text is not to be relied on. 4. It quite likely has been fixed to fit into the NT. A classic example is from Acts chapter 7 verse 14 where it says that 75 people came down to Egypt with Jacob. The Scriptures says clearly there were only 70. Looking in the Septuagint at the end of Genesis and beginning of Exodus it says 75. It is clear that the Septuagint was tampered with to fit into the NT. How do we know? Because the person who did the 'fix' was not such a great scholar and didn't know that there is a 3rd place, in Deuteronomy chapter 10 verse 22 where is also gives that number and there it was left as 70!!! Talk about having egg left on your face!
@@treksta2009 Talking of Acts chapter 7, maybe you can also tell me where Abraham was buried. It says there in Shechem. In my Jewish Bible it says Hebron. And indeed that is where everyone goes to this day. Shechem is 100 miles away. Please explain.
@@treksta2009 What are you talking about - I gave you 2 replies - did you not see them. By the way, the 75 is quite ridiculous, since the verses in Genesis actually list out the 70.
