I got the '44 version, which is just right imo for wildcamping, but even that gets switched out this time of year for my Exos bag, too old for this lightweight nonsense thsi time of year! ATB WJ

Yeah I think you may be right. The 44 would be minimum size for me during winter. The 30 is just a bit too small. But ok for bare bones summer camp.

I've got the 44, temped to get the 30 as well.
Since I mostly do multi day hikes I've got the 44, but I see that this 30 litter might be a good fit for the shorter 2-3 day hikes where Idon't carry a lot of food.
The thing with the 44 is that the capacity seems to be more than 44, quite a lot more. So I thought maybe the 30 is the same story. Not so sure anymore... I guess the 44's biggest advantage over the 30 is the roll top design. If this one was the same design I believe it would be a killer pack and weight at least 100g less than it is.
And yes, the 44 suferes from the same sosage shape issue, I thought it's the watter bladder that causes this but no, It's the aluminium rod running down the middle rather than around like in most packs.
Regardless, it still feels comfortable (for me at least).
To be honest, I have all kind of packs, from cheap to very expensive and I must admit this is one of my most favorite packs, not without it's querks and off course there's room for improvement. but, Montane really kiled it with this one and in my eyes deserve a lot more recognition in the market than they get. Especially from the Ultralight community which is all about buying stripped down packs and than adding pockets back to it 😂

      Hi Alex
It is a very good bit of kit. But I would say only enough room for a summer overnight hike / camp. I manly use it for that and hiking. I think the 44 would be better for me but usually end up taking my 30 year old eurohike at 1kg ! They don't make them like that any more. Will at some stage get the 44 to add to my collection.
Thanks for watching and your comment !
      Churs.

@@FiftyandNifty holly molly. Your packs is only 5 years younger than me 😂
Definitely not making stuff like that anymore. Everything these days has its expiry date…
Thanks for your video. I enjoy reviews that are done by people who actually buy equipment with their own money rather than all the paid advertisement these days.
Wish you manny more years of hiking!

Not a fan of how the water bottles hang off the pack like that

Me neither.....! Bit tight for space for an overnight as only 30ltr. Prob will upgrade to the roll top 40ltr. Cheers !
