Hold down the shift key to select multiple elements at the same time so you can then delete all the elements at a go. Or group the grid together before you add Individual designs to the name labels and then delete the grid after. Or just guidelines instead of shapes to create the grid. And then click on the 3-dot menu. There should be a drop down list where you can choose to group them.
