Gundam Unicorn is my favorite work of fiction ever. I actually wrote a 6 page review of it and gave it to my aunt (who's an English teacher) and requested that she read it. She said I made the series sound so interesting that she actually wanted to see it. So she came to my house and we marathoned the series. She enjoyed it.
It was no match for the plot armour surrounding Unicorn... Seriously that thing with all its weapons, 4 I-fields (that forget to work around Unicorn) and overwhelming support fire from the funnels, that thing should be out there with the strongest of all mobile suits.
It's a bad case of jobbing/plot armor and the piolet not honestly being that good with it/not keeping a cool head. The lack of non-beam weapons is really the only major flaw I've got with the suit itself... a more minor flaw would be the relative lack of non-overkill besides the funnels. I don't count the machine guns as those are point defense.
no matter how statistically good it on paper, Kshatriya HAVE TO lose because GUNDAM and earthling are far superior being as generic NORMAL stereotype dictated in UC timeline. Spacenoids & clones have no (even slight) right to wage a war for their freedom.
its literally one of the best units in all of UC. how unicorn could cut the binders with a beam saber literally make zeroooo sense. especially because the binder i-field would block the beam from the sword. psycho frame or not...
I recently decides to get real into Gundam and I started with the og 70s MSG and I just finished unicorn. Unicorn really gets you emotionally hooked in the first episode lol
to this day i am still puzzled how banana cut through the binder of the kshatriya with its I-field barriers. like bro. they show this in unicorn when banshee stabs at unicorn with the tonfa I-Fields block beam sabers too....
I love kshatriya and the hg is very good but i wish the head sculpt was better. It's to stubby looking compared to the line art and should look more like the kempfer head. It's otherwise a amazing hg.
I wanna do a custom gunpla as a "what if": which would basically be a federation version (ripoff?) Of Kshatria, probably using Gundam MK2 or something as a base, say they used a de-comissioned MS as a test bed for the tech. Maybe if it turns out well I can do a "mass production" version for refitting other MS for Newtypes. Course this would be my first attempt at a custom gunpla, but hey, my 3D printer needs work and this sounds fun lol

This is one of those MSs that skirts the line between MS and small MA.
If you think strike freedom beam spam is awesome. Kshatriya beam spam has far more finesse.
And it has more beams.

Both seems to act the same way yet most people says the funnels ate superior but i can't see why.
